  1. Virgil was great! A friend of mine who is an outdoor writer produced a video biography about Virgil, it is a good show and I occassionally catch it being rerun. Hats off to Virgil!
  2. 12 inch power worm.

Very good swim jigs, I have caught hundreds of bass on them in the Mississippi River. Another good one is made by Hutch's Lures. These are both made by the people where the swim jig concept was invented/discovered. I personally think the Booyah's are junk. The REAL Monsoor swim jigs are very good, but the Bass Pro version are fair. The key is in the hook and the weedguard must be very flexible. Choice of trailer is important also.
  4. Only works when fished with a Rocket Rod! Trust me.

I like to fish them in slop or over weeds, really a no brainer to fish. Just think buzz bait. I have also had success around wood or when you find schools of bass on a shad binge. Just experiment, use your imagination and have fun. I have never fished them with a weight.....yet. Might could make a decent jig trailer in dirty water or current also.
  6. I have one and like it.
  7. All of my reels are on zero setting, have done this for a long time. Makes pitching much easier and I can do it much, much further this way. Just takes a bit of practice to get on to.
  8. I have Low Riders, Caras, and Cara Reaction Series, all are good! Made in the USA too!
  9. Spro's are good frogs. Swamp Donkeys are also good. The best deal on the market in my opinion are the Cabelas Pro Fisherman Frogs. Very, very similar to the Spros. They come with one leg trimmed approx 1/3 shorter than the other and they sit butt down in the water a bit. This enables one to fish it like a twitch bait. Very subtle topwater action that you can skip into the nastiest brush.
  10. I think it was actually made to be a "conversation piece". LOL. Seems to have worked!
  11. Do rednecks eat pork rinds?
  12. Carolina rigged black and blue Mann's Rat.
  13. There is also a book on the market, I believe Joe Bucher wrote it. It is a reference on crankbaits. It will tell you how deep a particular crankbait will run depending on what pound test you have it tied to. Lots of good info in that book.
  14. Try to find some of the original Sluggo Hooks. I found them at Dick's.
  15. 7 foot parabolic spinning rod, 200 or 250 size reel, and 6 lb. fluorocarbon. Basically the same rig you would use for drop shotting.
  16. I am still waiting for the last two free giveaways. Saw this the other day and decided not to even bother.
  17. Gander Mountain carries it, I just bought some.
  18. The Triumph and Premiers are not the same.
  19. I have used them but only walleye fishing, very popular on the Mississippi River. B Fish N makes some really good ones. Gonna give them a try on Shakey heads.
  20. www.bayououtdoors.com Check out the V&M stuff. They just came out with swimbait hooks.

Looks interesting. Will have to give it a try. Do you know where they are avaliable? I do wish many of these Japaneese baits were avaliable in smaller sizes/weights.
  22. I have two and love them. The crankbait stick I have is the nicest I have ever used. I have no gripes about any of my Falcon rods.
