Congrats it's always good getting your first fish on a new bait!

Lou I hope you don't leave us all hanging and still pop in from time to time to share info and joke around with all of us. I'm thinking that when you take your leave of absense that's its just strictly the running of the comp. Because if you are leaving the thread all together it will definitely die you add to the great conversation and joking around that brings all us FL guys and even people from other states back to this thread.

My buddy is getting a pond prowler and I was wondering whats a good way to mount the go pro? I have one and I think he is getting one too so we wanted to mount them. Should be able to get some good footage this spawn can't wait for that.

Here are my cool pics Caught a lizard on my KVD 1.5 felt bad because the little guy died. This was sometime last week same with next pic. This little guy had a bluegill, you can see its tail in its throat, and my KVD, the one with the lizard, stuck in its mouth. I have only seen this in pics on the internet pretty cool to see it in one I caught... greedy little fish This one I caught today with Czar. She INHALED my crank. Took me forever to get the hooks out as you can imagine came centimeters from being a dead fish, and she was bleeding heavily. I didn't think it was going to survive but when I put her back in the water to revive she swam off slowly.

My buddy use to fish tournaments and he swears by it me I could care less lol. I have this app on my phone and I go by that for my weekend and Monday trips. All other days I get out when I can but still go by the app. It uses a 4 fish scale so if I see it in the 1 or 2 range I stay close to home and if its 3 or 4 I will venture out to big fish spots. I believe that app uses the barometer as well but it doesn't hold true in all cases. For instance past few days have been 1 or 2 and me and two of my fishing buddies set our PB. I usually go by the if the fish are hungry they will bite meter

I hope when flag football season is over that Lou returns as the Commissioner of the Florida Fishing League (FFL)

I don't think you want that man it would not be organized that's why I like when Lou does it. If I did it post at your own risk and keep track of your catch. All you would get from me is a quote saying nice fish. If you want me to then I'll do it lol. Lou will be missed a lot more if I do it lmao Simply put everyone likes to go to Disney World but its a lot better when you are with someone who has everything planned and mapped out so you don't have to be that person and you can have fun and enjoy.

I believe my intentions where pretty clear in the beginning of the month new winner going for big fish. Then DS won that when the day prior I had the big fish. Then here we are today and I managed 3 more for a 5fish total all since the 26th of DECEMBER. This is a friendly thread why all of a sudden did it turn into this? Made a comment directed at DS and it blew up lol. Nobody gets all worked up over all the man crushing that's been going on. How is there any dishonesty here? PM me if u need to cuz this open forum crying like little children is ridiculous This is a fun competion I believe it's called bragging rights we r just having a little fun. Gator I am not going to lie I was terrified when I saw it come on shore I'm like what did I do to you!! I I mean you no harm lol I must have done something to p*** it off that it was minding its own business then sees me swims across the pond and then up to where I am at. Could have been my cologne or my outfit idk lol

Need to figure out how to put videos on this site but I think I have to go the YouTube route then embed it here. I saw fish bedding at my one spot got out my gopro to put it underwater but the battery was dead! Haven't used it in weeks someone told me if u leave battery in that it will drain it so I guess that was correct. So I was using my iPhone, not underwater of course) and I tried everything to get te fish to react pop'r, senko, Uvibe none worked. Then I put on a Ribbit frog and let it sink drove the fish nuts she kept bumping it and such but wouldn't commit. After about 15 mins of trying to get her to commit she had enough I threw it back out for the 50th time it seemed and she slammed it the second it got to the bottom it was pretty cool, getting that on the gopro would have been cooler since it happened about 4ft in front of me. (I only got the footage of it messing around with the frog for a few minutes) Second cool video I got on the iPhone is a water moccasin trying to run me off I must have been in front of its nest or something. But it was in the water across from me by this log and then it swam over I got the footage right up til it hit the bank then I ran off I wasn't trying to Crocodile Hunter this thing lmao.

Don't want to be a rule breaker and nit pick but it is technically 5 days tomorrow 7 would disqualify my catches. But anyway we would be tied @ 105" which means we would have to implement YOUR tie system of the biggest fish if we go by length YOU WIN (24> 23) if we go by weight YOU WIN (8.3> 7.7) too lol... Congrats man!

My biggest of the year weighed 7lbs 7oz caught on a magnum pop'r. My longest of the year was 24" back in the summer on a tsunami or berkley swimming shad I or get which brand. Me, and two other members of this site all fish together and caught our PB all within 3 days it was pretty cool 27-29th talk about close to the end of the year and all on pop'r too.

With how popular and informative this site is I'm surprised that more major bass companies aren't jumping onboard for sponsorship. This is by far the number 1 and best bass informaion site on the web!

The pic in my avatar is the one I caught today. If I waited to set the hook any longer, and I did it very quickly the fish would have swallowed it and most likely died I couldn't believe how deep it was and how it was hook, lots of blood I thought it was dead til she swam off slowly. I will post the rest later when I transfer my pics from my phone to laptop

The one in my avatar has been killing the fish recently. One of my favorite when I use the 1.0 is bluegill. I found that with the KVD crank baits in the waters I fish you choose by te size of the baitfish swimming around. If I see a large number of small bait fish I will throw the 1.0 if I see larger baitfish I will throw the 1.5. (People tell me to use the 2.5s to catch bigger fish but I never have luck with them and the 1.0 and 1.5s are doing just fine) Another hint for crank fishing is get you a craw color crank if your local waters contain crawfish, seems to work a lot. Key to choosing a color is to try to match it with the food in that particular spot, people swear by the sexy shad color but I never have luck with them ever. That was the first one I hav ever had and was turned off by cranks because I would never have luck, then I got a craw colored one and numerous others that match my local waters food supply... That's the key

Gotta admit that this has been very fun to watch. BUT DS I am 2, 20" fish away (given the 5 day limit) from being 1 inch behind you lol... But I told you if your wife makes me some brownies then I will just leave em on Instagram (PS: I like my brownies with chocolate chips in them please lol)

Majority of people including myself use power pro braid, I use 30lb others use heavier but it's really not necessary unless you are flipping and pitching. But Power Pro is the best bang for tour buck.

DS FOR THE WIN!!!!! Won the lengths and big fish of the month!!! I will not ninja you and if I did I don't think it would matter cuz I'm at 44" depends on how u wanna call it with 2 fish that are time eligible according to the rules. It's a shame we didn't get into anything at the new spot, Czar did but that was before we got there, then Mother Nature rained on us. But i know you arent complaining cuz if we didnt get rained on this morning and we met at the new spot you would have not caught that beast! Still it's unbelievable that Me, u, and Czar all caught our PB in a 3 day period, you would think we were fishing in the Bass Pro tank lol

lol I can only go by what I saw in the text. Tomorrow morning I hope you get to see some of these fish up close! Funny thing is when czar caught his PB yesterday I got there about 5 mins after he released her. Then when I caught mine yesterday he helped me get her in. Then today he same thing he got there 5 mins after I released my PB... When his *** should have been there with me but he was too busy trying to scout a new spot!!! I could have used a photographer only 1 pic I got does her justice

It was raining this morning too just lightly though. Me and Czar went back to that spot for just under 2hrs before rain got heavy and I set my official PB today at 7lbs 7oz!!! Yesterday 6lb 11oz and now this!!! Posted her on FISHtagram lol At this rate I may have 5 fish within the 5 day time restriction

That's true a buddy of mine and his friend fish rodman and he told me that last week. I have yet to get out there since I do not have a boat but I have seen some pics of monsters out of there!
