  1. Lol at this post, it's not like you are throwing a baby it's a fish! I'm sure the fish would rather be thrown back from a few feet than killed for dinner lol
  2. Yea man I agree with your theories as well. I mean science is "factual" and all but how would someone explain someone like Lebron James? Or how do you explain other athletes in the NBA or NFL... Adrian Peterson I bet science can't explain what he did! Got a surgery that regular people can not even do their normal daily activities at their work place like walk and sit a a desk. This guy comes back less than a year later and missed the NFL single season rushing record by 9yds or whatever it was. But I'm sure there is a scientific explanation for that now that it happened eventhough when he got the injury all science pointed to his career was over.
  3. Don't know who posted about lengths and weight of fish I have lost track lol. But here in Jacksonville last year from June to December I have caught 9 fish 21", 7 fish 22" (one was 22.5), 1 fish 23", and 1 fish that was 24". By the pure length factor I should have 18 double digit bass? But speaking to dead Rivers point it depends on how much food is available in that particular spot. The 24" bass weighed 7lbs and was long and thin that was in July. In December I caught one that was 6lb 11oz that had the body of a 10lb and was 22". Then the next day I caught a 7lb 7oz that went 23" and was not nearly as fat as the 6, belly wise. Also had another fish that was 22", I didn't weigh it cuz took a long time to get the hook out and she was bleeding heavily, that fish had the head and mouth of a 10lb but lived in a small apartment complex pond oppose to the others that were caught in bigger lakes. So my scientific explanation would suggest that all fish are different depending on the body of water they live, the abundance of food, and other predators or lack there of. Just my input to this little debate
  4. Have to admit I am enjoying this back and forth and between you two and the pictures are an added bonus! Always like to see pics of nice quality fish... And I am learning a few things that I have always wondered from this mini debate
  5. Two of the biggest bass I have caught came in the rain one on a frog other on a pop'r. I like fishing right before, during, or after it rains... As long as it's not monsooning
  6. Yea we will split the cost... Shane can you hook it up with a Bassresourse/ fellow FL angler discount PM me I will keep it a secret.
  7. Nice fish!! Mainebass you got to remember that you are fishing up north and this is the south everything is BIGGER IN THE SOUTH! I don't think these claims are too far fetched. More abundance of food down here and the fish act differently I'm sure than they do up north... Just like the people do lol (I'm from NJ moved to FL so I can speak on that with first hand experience both fish wise and people wise lol)
  8. Just finished watching if on the DVR. I made it a point to stay off Facebook and this thread so it would be a "surprise" (that was very sarcastic it was kind of obvious who was going to win when the show just started) KVD the G.O.A.T He is the best man! I was rooting for Hackney he made his run then KVD broke out and set records lol, guy is the Jordan of fishing breaking his own records.
  9. There is always bigger out there man alway! They are that way for a reason hence why they are rare. These fish in Cali and Japan are huge I've seen a few. I'm sure there is some untapped natural lake/pond that the world record bass is swimming around in and it's just a matter of time before it is caught, I just hope it is released to be caught another day!
  10. Did you purchase this from a crack head!!! Amazing deal I will give u $50 for it lol
  11. ^^^ fly is right don't I repeat don't buy the Stanley Top Toads unless you like to catch BIG FISH! Lol he's is the ONLY person I have ever heard say that he must be doing something wrong but that's also his personal opinion
  12. Could have been written in California, Colorado, or Washington and just sent to Atlanta...
  13. It's more of a sigh of relief that I got her in and the line didn't snap or she didn't shake the hook!
  14. I only use braid for my frogs but I have used it for cranks and swimbaits too. I have never used any type of leader I think it is mostly preference when someone decides to tie a leader or directly to the lure
  15. AK-Jax86 replied to iabass8's topic in Fishing Tackle
    ^^ x2
  16. Dead River you have posted enough double digit fish pics to photoshop our face on your body so everyone who commented could claim a pic/fish lol
  17. Those skin mounts or replicas? When I get mine I am going for the replica. I always said I wanted a skin but I don't think I would be able to bring myself to let a fish that big/old die. Also I found this guy from Mississippi that does AMAZING replicas. Saw him on YouTube and I swear they were skin, I wasn't the only one who shared that view in the comments, the scale detail was amazing! I've seen some replicas done that look like a cartoon fish I want to get my money's worth... First I got to land her though!!! I plan on having a wall like that
  18. A quarter and a nickel, one is not a nickel and that'd be the quarter
  19. Saw this on the news that's a big snake! Glad I'm in north FL but they say that they are adapting it may be a matter of time til they make here their home regardless of the cold evolution! Not sure what kind if it was a python or a boa but one was found around here that was massive but I think it was someone's pet that got loose. My girlfriend showed me the article
  20. My buddy uses them and I'm sure he has caught a few. I bought the small version on a impulse buy but never threw it yet, not really a fan of the frogs with the skirts I never have luck with them I'm more of a paddle tail frog guy
  21. I use a 7' Medium Heavy spinning rod with 30lb braid. My reel is a Pflueger Patriarch now use to throw it on my Abu Garcia Orra
  22. For the TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGED iPhone users this is how it's done 1. Email the pic you want to post to yourself or another email (I have only gmail accounts so try it with that gmail to gmail) 2. Then it will ask you if you want to resize it and you choose MEDIUM 3. Open the email file and save the picture 4. Open the full version of the site and click the attachment link 5. Take the file(s) that you want to upload to your post and there you have it! I dislike doing this but when I post that's how I go about doing it if I am using my phone. I prefer Instagram for all my fishing photos I use it as my fishing photo album. It's like Facebook for pictures except you control what you want to see in your feed... In my case it's all fishing related I follow rod/reel/lure comoanies and fellow anglers I love it! I hope that helps you out man and anyone else who was wondering. I wish they would just fix it so we didn't have to change the size of the photo I mean iPhones are probably what most users have anyway mods make it work please
  23. Trust me man you will get them. The fish I don't want to talk about that I had on land last week was definitely 10 if not it was a tic tac away from 10 and that came from a spot that the biggest I pulled out was 6. Same thing with my buddy dsidle on this site. He fished a spot and he would catch small ones then one day he pulled out a 6. Then we'd catch a few 4s & 5s out of there then one day in the smaller pond that he never fished until I missed a big one there when he first took us he landed his personal best 8.3lbs! What you need to do is find spots that aren't fished that much and have been there for over 10yrs and you will catch your fish. Majority of the spots that I fish have been there for 10, 15+ years including 4 that have been there for 40+! That's where you are going to get your trophy bass but they are that size for a reason they are smart. Biggest fish I ever hooked into came from an apartment pond and I was with my boy from this site Bass Czar. I'm calling 13+ cuz I have seen a pic of my boys PB of 13 something and my other boys PB of 13.10, also MCS (another member here) coworker caught a 10lb from the same spot. They are always there man there's always bigger if you are in the right spot.
  24. I like to think of myself as a tackle enthusiast Hoarder/junkie sounds too explicit
  25. Man if the spot you are talking about across from the town center is the same spot as mine there must be hundreds of double digit bass in there that the land owner doesn't want people to catch!! You and a few other people have been run off from there, if I am thinking about the same place, but I'm surprised a game warden got to you. Where were you parked? I wonder of someone called him or he just happened to be passing by but that's weird I have never came in contact with one and I fish all over orange park, south side, ponte vedra, everywhere. As for your 1-2lb fish problem keep at it you will get em but the big girls haven't been biting this year so far. Between me and my two buddies we caught about 10 fish all over 5lbs in the last week of 2013. And so far this year we have had 1 half way in the boat lol DS, 2 shake hooks, and 1 I landed that I do not want to speak about!!!
