  1. I'm the wrong person to ask about baits man because for the warm months it was all frogs. Past 3 months it has been KVD 1.5s and recently it has been pop'r and cranks (for whatever reason they work when it is generally the time to slow down your presentation) But bigger worms work well this time of year around here. 6" senkos, trick worms, 10" worms I had a lot of luck with last year but I wasn't fishing this late/early into the year however u wanna call it. Depends on the type of spot I am fishing depends on what I am going to do and what colors I am going to use. This time of year I think the fish are feeding on bait fish so that's why the cranks and shad raps that I have been using have been working. Not sure if you are familiar with cranks but what I generally do is match the crank with the size of baitfish that I see. If I see smaller bait fish I will throw a KVD 1.0 and bigger ones I will throw KVD 1.5 or a shad rap (for deeper water). Also match the color with the colors of te baitfish in that spot. My buddy DS uses senkos when nothing else seems to be working. He wacky rigs them and kind of jigs it off the bottom and he has luck doing that. When the fish stop chasing the baitfish like I said I will be going back to worms but the bigger ones 6" senko and I like the 10" magnum worm I think yum makes them. Never had luck with jigs but I know they work. Now that my buddy has a jon boat I may start to get the hang of the jig I know a lot of people pull out monsters on jigs
  2. Yea Mitch congrats man on the fish, even though you are an extreme Eagles hater lol you FB feed cracks me up! You guys got some nice fish in the ice I was wondering when you were gonna show the site your pics
  3. Hah I have never heard of that before she better be careful she may give those fish diabeties lol
  4. To be honest I have only gut hooked 3 fish in my life, 1 I couldn't get it out and it died was a dink though. The other two I was with my professional fishing buddy, that's what I call him lol, and he got the hook out like it was nothing using his technique. Now that I made that statement I may have to bookmark this thread because that's usually how things work lol. Now every fish I catch will be gut hooked
  5. Any spot you fish will hold fish. What I do is I use google earth on my phone and find spots. Then I will look for businesses or complexes and then google how long they have been around to gague how long that body of water has been around, that's the key to finding big fish spots. Do you have a kayak or anything like that? If so your options are endless! I'm stuck on the bank but my buddy just got a Jon boat so we take that out on the weekend and hit the areas we can't get to from the bank
  6. There's actually two by the FBI building one is very visable across from an apartment complex and I think there is a bank or something right there with a parking lot. I have fished tere few times and caught fish. The woman that works at Strike Zone I ran into while fishing there and she said she has caught big fish and her co workers as well as couple customers said there are big fish in there over 8lbs, biggest I got from there was probably 4 but like I said only fished it like 4 times. That one you can fish without getting ran off. You can fish that pond that if you are facing the FBI building it is over to the right. I believe there is a path along the side that I was told you can drive through to get to it if you have a truck, SUV, jeep. I never fished there but ony hear good things. A buddy of mine has put his kayak in there with his buddy and have got into some big fish. Heard stories from a member of a local bass club that I met at dicks and he said same thing about that spot.
  7. Man I will have this similar problem in the near future when my sons old enough and u purchase my first bass boat! I have a dodge charger and my girlfriend has a Pontiac so we need to upgrade to a SUV most likely. Her car is older and should only last another 2yrs so it's going to be a nice little hit on the bank account when we have to purchase a new vehicle and bass boat (if she gets a new something I do too lol but our son will be around 4 then so it's perfect timing)
  8. If anyone needs a co angler I will help pay fees!!!! PM me My buddy has a boat but not beefy enough for tournaments
  9. Nice video man idk how that guy stuck his hands in that water with no gloves, he's a seasoned vet obviously lol
  10. I think that would be pretty cool. It would be like the 6 Flags for fishermen. Obviously this isn't real but that'd be cool if they had it like an above ground pool set up with glass around it. The fishermen would fish on top around "the bank" and from the floor others could see the fish and structure. That'd be pretty cool to be able to see how the fish stalk and attack their prey from a first person stand point
  11. Nice ride I can't wait for the day I can make a thread like this!!
  12. Lou cold spell? So you talking upper 60s low 70s lol Up here that's cold man We are in the 30s, 40s, and lower 50s
  13. Tell me about it man I went to go out went right back inside lol
  14. This year has been slow for everyone so far. I'm going out in the morning with my girlfriend hope to break that trend. Czar got into some fish today that he sent me via text. I spent the day at the zoo with Sarah and Adrian for Sarah's birthday. Adrian had a blast his first time ever to the zoo and he loved every second of it. We got a year pass so this might be an every other week trip.
  15. Looks like a very productive season congrats man time to kill it in 2014

Nice fish! Like said before time to break that PB in 2014! I broke mine at the very end of 2013 hope it doesn't take me that long this year lol
  17. We also ran into DS's step son at my spot and DS refused to give him a ride on the boat. Step son: "come on guys pick me up" DS: "we can't its a 2 seater" Step Son: "I see three seats in there" DS: speeds off LMAO!
  18. He also forgot to mention how I christened the boat with the first fish lol. It was a good day hitting some of my spots from a boat, besides the fact that we caught the same amount of fish in the boat as we did from bank 1 and 1 lol... Slow day for sure Got some cool underwater footage with the gopro and a cool shot of the fish I caught swimming off underwater.

Look up a h2o tackle back pack will change your life! Ample room for whatever you need, has 2 rod holders, a line spool, and even a detachable cooler! It's only $50 too I love this back pack I used tackle bags before this and nothing comes close
  20. If you go the guide route I would definitely hit up Captain Shane Procell!!! He RUNS south FL man it's truly amazing to watch (and being from Canada you will be culture shocked in Miami lol). He has a YouTube channel as well that you can check out but I haven't heard one negative thing about him, maybe people's arms may hurt because of all the fish they land but I see that as a positive lol. He will put you on the South FL fish for sure! I'm from Jacksonville, FL but I plan on getting down there to catch me some Peacock bass I never caught one before.
  21. I am about 2hours away from BPS in Orlando and a little over 2hrs from BPS in Savannah. So I generally shop online when using BPS unless I am in Orlando. Must admit I like going in store when shopping but I generally go to Dicks and Academy since they are local! BUTTTTT They are building a BPS Outdoor World with a 12 acre managed lake right in my backyard!!! Literally 5 mins away (it's suppose to be the 4th biggest attraction in ALL OF FLORIDA WOW) its gonna be a problem a huge problem! My girlfriend told me I better put a ring on her finger before it opens or she will leave me for cheating on her with BassPro weekly lol
  22. Instead of the prowler my buddy got talked out of that by a bass pro associate and is on his way home with a Jon boat. So I need different ideas for mounting but id imagine it will be a lot easier in a Jon boat
  23. Well my buddy is purchasing a boat! So that means I will have to join the flipping and pitching craze that have some producing pigs! My next two purchases will be a rod that I can use for that as well as big swim baits! I have stumbled upon a nice instagrammer who likes my pics and is sending me a few 316 lures for free!! My understanding they are very expensive but I need some equipment that can handle them
  24. Real fans will!!! I think it's more along the lines of why pay all this money and freeze just to see them lose to the 9ers IMO Packers have the advantage because of the elements. BAD FANS!!! Philly we got our game sold out!!! Me personally I'm waiting til we host the NFC Championship game til I fly out to claim my seats! (I may be waiting a while though lol)
  25. Do you remember where you saw those tri pods? And man that story does sound crazy would have been awesome to get on film. When I caught my PB last week I was going to get out my gopro before I casted but didn't (wouldn't make a difference will see later). It was pretty cool I was using a magnum pop'r and then I caught maybe a 3lber it exploded on the pop'r. The fish jumped out the water and shook the hook then as soon as my pop'r hit the water my 7lb 7oz PB inhaled it. I hooked her then the fight was on got her in snapped a few pics then let her go, it was awesome to see and would have loved to get that on film!! Not the 10lber you got but same thing happened to the both of us we missed some amazing footage. It's funny when I have my gopro runnin nothing but dinks lol when I don't have it going that's when I get the big ones! I kept it in my fishing backpack for a while, haven't used it in over a week at that point, then I went to get some underwater footage of bedding bass from shore and gopro was dead. Someone mentioned that the gopro will drain the battery while it is turned off and it's true cuz like I said I haven't used it in a long time then when I did it was dead (I have the LCD touch screen too so that could add to the drain) I am stocking up on batteries got a good deal online for 4 of them, my buddy is actually going to look at the boat today and we may be out as early as Saturday trying to get some footage!
