  1. Congrats on breaking it twice
  2. How are their spinning reels? I was thinking about getting one they are a good price and I know they make good baitcasts
  3. Me and my girlfriend have bad luck with rods. When I was fishing wit my buddies last week within a 48 hour period I broke my reel must have been damaged because it happened while reeling in a 7lb bass. I broke my rod because my braid and lure wrapped around it I didn't realize and casted really hard and the pressure snapped it. Then I was fishing at night and I got a hit on a frog turned out to be a gator and the piece that holds the rod and reel together broke when the gator made impact with the lure. Talk about a rough 24hrs luckily my local sporting goods store has the best return policy of all time so I upgraded my equipment.
  4. I never have luck with wacky rigged anything let alone senkos I always t-rig em
  5. We will say the most fun type of FRESHWATER fishing, because some of the salt water stuff they do looks real fun especially when they are fighting a fish for a long time it's like a battle of will and determination
  6. Definitely top water is the most fun type of fishing, I don't think that can be argued
  7. That's a nice fish! Those big hudd baits seem to catch some nice fish, I've seen pother members post pics using them
  8. I found me a new spot perfect for frogging, all I have been doing the past month. I went last night and missed 3 fish all over 4lbs... This is my new go to spot
  9. Yea here in FL night is the best for top water
  10. 20+ bass great trip
  11. That's a beast! What is your length now? That one looks way fatter than the 19" I catch. Always seems like the fish you catch at your spots are fat
  12. Uh oh resorted to sunfish fishing with worms must be tough. Atleast your son gets time to spend with his father so that's the bright side
  13. That fish was very hungry
  14. O I thought you were replying to the post about my lake I fish
  15. Stick to reputable websites
  16. That's funny because when I was looking at te picture that's how I would have fished it I would have fished my frog along the outside edge of the pads and then the inside. Like I said I found a pond on the side of 295 I believe that is exactly like that one but signs were posted, it's a shame I need to find another similar one
  17. Agreed what part of Jax are you from?
  18. I noticed the pond you are talking about has seen more action because first I use to see snakes basically every time I was there and haven't I a long time. An there has been fishing line and trash down by the water, I always clean up. So I figured people have been fishin there that's why I haven't been the consistently in a while. Even ha someone pull in there once saw I was there and left
  19. I do that too since I only use 6" senkos but I rarely catch fish when I cut it, not sure why.
  20. Another thing is when people say they caught a massive fish somewhere usually it doesn't yield results. But when it does like you said that's why we fish.
  21. I'm saying I fish every single day and I never see people at the spots that I go, not to say they don't fish them. I share with you guys in the post in hopes to run into you lol. But I mainly have my golf course, my spot from last year, ponte vedra, one I caught the big, and OPGC only when my boy can fish. I rarely run into fishermen at these spots unless they at with me.
  22. Since that one I haven't got anything of size biggest was 18" and that was just 1. I have missed a lot of top water strikes but they are not blowing up on it like they were. I caught like 5 fish since then. Not sure if the weather or moon has anything to do with it. Another factor could be because they sprayed the ponds at my golf course and a lot of the top water grass is gone. Not sure where the fish move when that happens. I am going to hit up some of the retention ponds on the side of the highways this weekend. Hopefully the cops don't bother me like they did to you Lou. The spot where you caught that 6lb in the pic is perfect for what I want to do, saw one like it but it had signs. I need to find some spots with lots of vegetation, grass, and structure since I'm on a top water binge.
  23. I always fish spots that are rarely fished
