  1. If forward was pushing you backwards you might have had the wires on the wrong teminals. Make sure you connect positive to positive and negative to negative. If they are switched this will happen. I'm not sure about other brands but all the minn kota hand controlled motors I've used have been able to have the head spun around for transom or bow mounting.
  2. I talked to Clayton earlier and he told me about the walleye. I would like to say I'm sorry for your loss, would have made for a hell of a picture
  3. Completely agree. I have three of these rods, 1 in 6' ML and 2 7' ML. I use them for crappie and throwing small swim shads on darter jigheads. I would never even dream of using it for anything else, just not enough power to get a decent hookset.
  4. Picked up another 7' MH today, also got double rewards points from a coupon they had in the circular ad I got in the mail.
  5. We just found a couple spots this spring that had pea gravel that held bigger fish. The times we fished them we didn't catch many but what we did catch was very good quality. Not saying that is what we look for, just that we had a little success with it this spring.
  6. Gravel banks were good to us this spring. You just have to find the right ones
  7. I choose between these depending on the type of cover 7'6" Carbonlite MH/F and Pro Qualifier 7'2" Clarus MH/XF and Pro Qualifier 7' Carbonlite MH/F and Revo S
  8. I carry a Gerber Fast Draw Mini with the safety switch and spring assisted blade opening. Opens really easy with a little flick. It fits very well in my pocket and doesn't get in the way of getting my keys out like some knives I've had.
  9. Cheapest combo for bass fishing would be an Ethos 7' MH for $39 and a Pro Qualifier for $60. Cheapest other combo is a BPS Micro Lite 7' ML spinning rod for $29 and a Shimano Sienna 2500 for $29.
  10. Probably cost us the week before too....
  11. I throw those on a darter jighead around the lakes in Eastern KS in the spring time. The smallies, white bass, and walleye love them!! The black shad and silver mullet color work the best for me. Need to give them a chance this fall....
  12. Another vote for the Shimano Sahara
  13. If a grill is needed I can bring my 22" weber along with some charcoal.
  14. I fished it with Bluebasser. Too bad the tourney doesn't go later, we only started to get into them in the last 45 minutes. I had a couple fish on at the end that possibly would have won the thing if I had landed them. Both on a shakyhead.
  15. We stayed at Mill Creek Resort last year for a week in July. Will definitely be planning another vacation there in the future. Caught plenty of fish in the mornings, and did a lot of relaxing (beer drinking) the rest of the day.
  16. I lost my oakleys to the bottom of a river a couple months ago. I went the cheap route and got the Basspro XPS Sailfish polarized glasses as a replacement. For a cheap pair of glasses they fit my face surprisingly well and the polarization is pretty good. I would buy them again, and probably will since I tend to be tough on sunglasses.
  17. ^^^ This. Priorities!!!!
  18. He'll play 3rd until Moose gets his calf healthy. After that he'll probably get pretty regular playing time giving someone a day off, either in the outfield or at 2nd or 3rd. He also gives us another speed option coming off the bench late in the games. As long as Escobar is healthy he will be in the lineup. I think he has only sat twice so far this year.......but don't quote me on that.
  19. I had not followed him much this year but on the TV broadcast last night they talked about how he got injured early in the year and then took a back seat to whoever replaced him even after he was healthy again. Didn't get enough at bats to really get going. And I really hope he is a productive utility man for us. We needed to bring in someone like him to fill holes until guys come off the DL, and to replace Elliot Johnson. It was fun watching him run out his double/triple last night. Dude can fly!!!!
  20. I've got 5 of them. I have a feeling at some point they'll be the only casting rods I have, they're that good. And when they go on sale for $79, I don't think there is a better deal out there.
  21. I've got the 6'9" ML spinning rod that I use for lightweight finesse fishing. I've only had it for a couple weeks but I love it so far. I also have 4 casting rods and have absolutely no complaints about them. Lightweight, sensitive, and strong.
  22. If using my boat I'll have about 10-12 with me, with a few of them that I dont use very often stowed in the rod locker just in case I feel the need to use them. If I'm in a friends boat I'll keep it around 6.
  23. 78 Pointer Chartreuse Shad
  24. I've tried both the clarus and compre in 7'2" and I prefer the clarus. The compre seemed a little heavier to me.
  25. I noticed this on my newer Edge 70 the other day. It seemed that one of the screws was moving just a bit when I would turn the motor while engaged. I might have to go check the screws......
