  1. Great little resort. We were there last year for the first time for our week long vacation around the 4th of July. I was pretty impressed with it, and the owners were really nice people. If I go down there anytime for a fishing trip I will be staying there.
  2. I think I figured out how to post pictures.....
  3. KSDawg and I went to melvern for about 3 hours this afternoon, despite the rain and wind..... We did pretty well. I caught one on a jerkbait in the first five minutes and Blake caught one shortly after that. It was pretty steady for a while, but slowed down as we got colder/wetter...we sort of lost interest after a while since we couldn't feel our hands. We decided to call it a day a little early because we were numb but I'm sure we would have continued to catch fish. Very nice fish were caught, Blake broke his PB smallie 3 times! We should do pretty well tomorrow guys!!!
  4. I like Mill Creek Resort. Its near Lampe a couple miles west of the Kimberling City Bridge. Nice place and prices aren't too bad.
  5. Looking for a place on the water, or something in town away from the lake?
  6. I don't think you're getting any sympathy from this crowd Dawg.....
  7. We'll be there Friday. Won't get there as early as I would like because somebody (KSDawg) has to get his beauty sleep.......

I'll put the reel on the clarus and move the revo to the new carbonlite and make that my new jerkbait rod.
  11. I use LH for flipping and pitching, jerkbaits, and topwater. RH for moving baits like spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and swimbaits.
  12. I'm still annoyed about that fish breaking me off on the trolling motor. Started coming at me after setting the hook and as I finally caught up to him he made a run back under the boat.... it felt like a nice fish
  13. I'll bring hamburger buns. Are we still wanting to have some bbq? I am more than willing to take care of this, just as long as this is what everybody wants.
  14. In your price range I would check out the Shimano Crucial.
  15. This ^^^^ For me its the palomar.
  16. Thanks!!! Going to get the 6'6" for jerkbaits. Amazing deal on a pretty nice rod.
  17. Didn't make it out today, but took the boat out to Hillsdale last night just to get the motor running. Casted jerkbaits and lipless crankbaits around the dam for a while without any luck. We found water as warm as 51 degrees.
  18. Will do. Still trying to decide between melvern, coffey county (hot water needed), or olathe lake. I'm hoping the warm temps the next couple days will warm the lakes a few degrees.
  19. Corps of Engineers website says today that the temp is 43. I was thinking about going there Friday but I'm not sure the temp will rise much between now and then. I sure wish they would hurry up and get the hot water back on at Coffey County.
  20. Albright. It comes through the guides very well and is pretty easy to tie.
  21. Don't call in unless I'm sick..... but if I did it would either be Lake Erie or Lake St. Clair for smallmouth.
  22. 3000 size Shimano Symetre or Sahara would be a good choice. I just picked up one of the Saharas yesterday and it seems like a very nice reel. I chose the Sahara over the Symetre just to save a little money.
  23. You'll like that rod. I have the same one. I've got a couple of my buddies convinced they need one as well just because of how much I like it.

  25. I could handle smoking the meat for this, I'd bet it would be cheaper for us to make it ourselves anyway. I love smoking as well so it would be fun for me. I could throw a brisket or a slab or two of ribs in as well if some people would want it.
