Fishing Bibs From Bps
What do you think of the frogg toggs bibs so far? I'm thinking about getting a pair of them.

Frog Toggs Rain Gear
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but...... Can anyone give a review of the Frog Toggs ToadRage Rain Jacket and the Toadskinz Pants? I'm looking at replacing the old set of Frog Toggs I've had for about ten years now and I like the look of these. Thanks.

Berkley Vanish...smh
I use Seaguar red label mostly now, but when I first started buying floro vanish was all I bought. I never had any problems with it, I was tying a palomar knot every time. From all the bad reviews out there about it I'd consider myself lucky I never had an issue.

What's The Word On The Shimano Clarus Rods?
I've got the same exact rod and use it as my jig rod mainly. It's the second one of these I've had, the first had to be exchanged due to the glue coming undone on the reel seat when I tightened the reel down. As for the blank itself I've found it to be plenty sensitive and it has good backbone. It's a little heavier, but is well balanced. I would recommend it, and wouldn't mind having a second one myself.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
You're such a liar, telling me you were going home to bed after work.... Gardner or Olathe?

Were the crappie shallow that you caught? I'm going out Friday and would love to go chase the smallies at melvern, but my wife wants me to fill the freezer with crappie. It would be great if I could catch enough there to make her happy and catch a couple 4 pound smallmouth in the process.

Table Rock Lake??
We used Pete Wenners last summer and we were pleased with him.

First Time Out Boys!
A butt seat is a must for me. Just having something to lean back against is a big help.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Anyone fish Shawnee Mission Park much? Supposedly a couple years ago they stocked about 1200 5-6 inch smallmouth in there. A friend from work sent me a picture today of a 12-13" smallie he caught this morning on a zinker. I haven't fished it much in the last ten years as the bass population had a big decline. Be nice to have another smallmouth fishery close to home.

Affordable And Nice Rods And Reels
I have not used one, but I have 5 cabonlites and really like them. From talking to a guy at basspro about the Johnny Morris rods, the only difference between them and the carbonlite is that they use Fuji guides and the carbonlite does not.

Affordable And Nice Rods And Reels
The extreme is on sale at BPS right now for $69. Good rod, I have no complaints about mine.

Falcon Rods?
I've got a 6'10" MH Lowrider that is an awesome rod! It is lightweight. I use it for everything. Bigger jerkbaits, swimbaits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwater......you get the idea. I've never used their spinning rods but their casting rods are very good quality so I don't think you could go wrong with that brand.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
My dad and I went to melvern yesterday. Got there about 7 and fished until about 2. Started slow but we eventually figured them out. Started throwing jerkbaits and crankbaits but that wasn't as effective as it was two weeks ago. We fished the cove with the jetty protecting the swimming beach without any luck. We went to a cove on the north side that I fished with Blue a few weeks ago. We caught a few fish on shakyheads, but not that many to keep us around that spot. My dad did catch a really nice 17" smallie though. We worked our way around to the next cove and I caught my first ned rig fish, a really nice 16 1/2" smallie. Went to the dam after that. I caught a dink on a 78 pointer on my first cast, then a nice chunky 16" smallie on the next cast. We worked our way down the dam and caught a few little smallmouth and several white bass. Went to the marina cove next and caught one of all three species all on shakyheads. My dad caught a couple of really healthy largemouth on consecutive casts. We ended up going back to the cove on the north side thinking it would be better later in the day. First fish was a really nice largemouth that broke me off on the trolling motor. We caught several in the cove including the biggest of the day, an 18" smallie. It was pretty chilly and a little windy but a great day as it was the first time my dad and I have gone fishing together in a couple years. I loved watching him catch his nice smallie, and having him net mine.

Spinning Rod: Which Would You Choose?
I have both the carbonlite and compre and I've found the compre to be a little more sensitive and in general a more versatile rod. The carbonlite is a very nice rod though. I don't have any experience with the other rods you listed but between these two I would pick the compre.

Pro Qualifier Reel Nut
I bought a power handle at basspro for my left handed pro qualifier. I got home and after putting it on I realized I grabbed the wrong handle in the store. When I took it back I accidentally put the nut from the reel in the package instead of the one that was supplied with the handle, this created a problem as the lefty reels have left handed threading. My question is, does anyone know the size of these nuts so I can try to find one at a specialty hardware store? I can have basspro send me one but I need to use the reel this Friday.

Float Trips For Smallmouth!
Hopefully the North Fork has come up with all the rain we've gotten. We were there last year around the first of June and it was the lowest I have personally ever seen it. The launch at Hammond was so low that we had to walk the canoes the first 30 or 40 yards.

Float Trips For Smallmouth!
During late spring we've always done well on rebel crawdad crankbaits in those rivers.

Finesse Style Spinning Rod Help.
Basspro has a carbonlite and shimano sahara combo for around $130-$140. Its not listed on the website but I saw it in an ad about a month ago. I called our local basspro and asked them how long that combo will be available and the guy said they would honor it through the end of the year. I think its in one of the catalogs. Be worth looking into.

I've always thought about fishing that cove but have just never got around to doing it, sounds like a place I need to try on Friday.

PB that spot in the second picture looks like a pretty nice one. DId you catch the spots in the marina cove? My dad and I are headed down there Friday and we might have to try to catch a few.

Dropped My Rod & Reel In The Lake
While making a cast in about 15 FOW I snagged the line on my then brand new vendetta and revo s. When I went forward to cast it flipped the rod right over top of me and into the water. Luckily I had a crankbait tied on it and I was able to stick the rod in my hand down far enough to snag the bait. By the time I was able to snag the bait on my line the rod had disappeared from sight..... I had bought the combo the day before and had not used it yet. I was pretty shook up for about an hour after that. Almost wasted $200 without even making one cast with it.

Nice Trailer Alternative To Rage Tail Or Speed Craw
I use the paca chunk sr. as jig trailers almost exclusively and I love them. I did just get some free rage craws that I will be trying...

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
No better way to learn than to just do it. I taught myself how to do it last year at melvern, and at that time I really had no experience fishing jerkbaits.

Considering all the big fish that were caught on Saturday, Melvern would be my choice if I could go.

Spring Kc Get Together-Updated 4/24
We had an unbelievable day on the water, despite the weather. Blake (KSDawg) caught a smallie in the first five minutes and it really never stopped the rest of the day. Best bait for us was a chartreuse shad 78 pointer, but also caught a bunch on an RC STX. Caught a couple largemouth up in a cut on the north side on shakyheads. We caught a ton of fish in the 16-16.5 range. I broke my personal best with an 18.5, wish we would have had a scale to weigh it. I can't wait for the next get together!!
