  1. I like the red dirt kind of country, only time I get to listen to it on the radio is on sunday nights for 2 hours on one of our local stations. Other than that you NEVER hear any of it on the radio. Thank god I have a 6 disc cd changer, and its full of the good stuff!!
  2. My duck hunting has basically been eliminated since our daughter was born last October. I went twice last year and that was a total of two hours combined to a tree farm pond just north of town, and I never fired my gun. I plan on getting out more this year though.
  3. I'd say watch a lot of videos on youtube of guys putting the weapons together. I was lucky enough to have a guy at work that was very experienced with building these weapons who helped me put mine together. He had all the little tools that are needed, and some that he modified himself that were useful for all the little pins and springs.
  4. Probably why my AR sits in the closet except to chase coyotes and prairie dogs. Try taking up duck hunting, probably right up there as far as most expensive hobbies. I've thought about giving it up and selling my gear to buy more fishing gear, but I can't...
  5. So things went well for you this morning is what you're saying....
  6. No such thing RIP LT
  7. Clayton and I were out there one day a few years ago with a VERY strong north wind and that was a little bit scary. The wind coming out of those coves on the north swirls and creates some pretty rough water. Our fish/ski can handle it, but I definitely don't like being out there when the wind is like that. And yes, a strong east/west wind out there is an absolute nightmare!
  8. And I think that day we did cast and blast was even later than that, maybe the 15th. I know we went there because everything in the area was frozen. I think the fishing for us that day was a little tougher than what you and Drew experienced though.
  9. Mine is 19'.... when I eventually get my own boat it will have to be 16'-17' and have a swing tongue. And even then it will be tight. I would love to have an extra 3 feet!!!
  10. Or wait for the new mojo to come out. Going to have the SCIII blank and will be considerably lighter than the old mojo, according to the lady I talked to at St Croix.
  11. Lucky Craft Slender Pointer 97MR in chartreuse shad. My first trip of the year to our favorite smallie lake and my first cast across the ramp after launching. Second twitch and wham!!!
  12. Avid X 7' MH/F is rated up to 3/4 oz
  13. Shakyhead and tube is what I would use that for.
  14. Royals and Chiefs all the way!!! Also a die hard KU fan having grown up 20 minutes from Lawrence. No way could I ever buy a jersey or shirt of another team, would just feel wrong.
  15. We had this same issue with our 1993 Stratos 280 SF this spring. I was certain that it was the bilge pump and took it to a local marine repair center. Turned out the pump was fine but there was a circuit under the dash that was causing the short, we also had a couple loose ground wires under the dash as well. My electrical knowledge is slightly limited so there really was no chance I would have found that problem. Only cost about $200 which I didn't think was too bad.
  16. My first thought was to say don't choke it.
  17. Going fishing tonight with 85 for a temp and 40% humidity....... I must be in a different state because this is definitely not KS summer weather.
  18. We'll join you on that!!! As long as it's on a weekday....
  19. The 7' M/F Shimano Crucial (new green model) seems to me like it would make a good drop shot rod, just from having handled it in the store.
  20. Just ordered mine in 7'6" MH/MF, not going to make the wife happy but I couldn't pass it up.
  21. So that's what is wrong with you....
  22. The 6'10" M/XF that St Croix makes is about the closest thing I have to an "all around" rod. I have the Rage and Legend Tournament. It's a shakyhead rod but does well with wacky rigs, Ned, small swimbaits, and could probably work for drop shot if necessary.
  23. I wouldn't buy one, but it's a good deal for somebody wanting a cheap combo.
