  1. Look for creeks flowing into the lake. Often creeks are coverd by shade from trees and has plenty of rapids to cool the water down and that lowers the temputare ok the surrounding area on were the creek flows into the lake and has plenty of oxrgyn.
  2. Strike zone (TOP) - - - - - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strike Zone - - - - - Strike Zone (bottem) Strike zone is sort of looking through a scope. Exept its not exact 100% of the time. Any were of the strike zone the bass will loose entress in the lure and will ignore it. The bass is always in the middle of the graph (I guess you can call it a graph) And the farthest it will travel from point 0,0 is the shape of the strike zone. p.s. For those of who dont know math point 0,0 is the center.
  3. I have used those for striper never for bass. There is a reason for that, they dont work well for bass.
  4. Hula Popper in all black. A black buzzbait or spinnerbait.
  5. If your lake is really shallow and you lost 5 feet the bass are probally really stressed and the water is clear. I would suggest using a fineese senko. Like the 3.5inch skinny senkos. You picked a good choice on the senko because scince its summer bass are looking for a quick and easy meal. They dont want to chace to much because there is not that much oxergyn in the water. Just rig the fineese senko and let it fall to the ground and dead stick it. Give it a shake every couple of mins. 1. If the senko does not work try a jig (A jig would be my first choice after a senko) 2. And try to target the deepest part of the lake IN SHADE there is a diffrence between 15feet in the sun and 10feet in the shade. bass like the shade 3. Fast moving lures are good after a raining night and the water temputers are cooler. But it its really hot stick with the slow moving plastics. 4. As long as the bass has spotted the senko it will stay there for a while. The second you twitch the senko durring dead sticking it should trigger a strike. Good luck, tell us how your day was.
  6. I do that alot with treble hooks. One time i had both hooks with all 3 barbs in the fishes mouth and it was locked shut because of that.I had to cut the hooks with a wire cuter, bend the barbs and remove that. That was a 3 doller crankbait so I did not care much. Anyways it gave me an excuse to go buy more tackle But its pretty simple. Just twist the hook it came out and just play with it. If worse comes to worse close the barbs with pliers and put a new hook on.
  7. I dont know what your talking about dude. The accruacy on cheap bbguns are like 30/25 (in yards) But once you start to know your gun you can turn it into 40/25 (in yards) And im sure you can pop a baloon pretty far away. because 25 is a really really small target your shooting at. Anyways cart7 is right. If you survive the powerline shock the second time you use it it goes up up and up. when you shoot it the lure will not fall exactly were it was because of the wind. anyways you cant exactly measure if the ballon is over your target. Just use a weedless lure for hard to get places. I'm sure most anglers on this forum are capable on reaching there target on there first cast. Have you ever used it? It will be easyer to take 2 cast then filling a ballon tying it to your line letting it rise then putting your rod down and shooting it and then getting your lure stuck in a tree and having to break the line. Im sorry guy but that just wont work out that well. p.s. This should go in general fishing
  8. Peta's robofish. The waves that repel the fish will also drive a fish mentaly crazy and have it kill itself. To bad peta has not realised that yet.
  9. I like 3 things and mainly only 3 things. Edge of weed beds, Timber and rock.
  10. Well scince your a meteroligist i find that i should ask you this. I have been told to stay away from windows during a T-storm. Can lighting strike through the window to you??? Also i would like to add that before lighting hits metal objects will start to viberate. If you hear metal viberating get down.
  11. Wow, Wow, Wow. Unbelievable. Just stunned & offended by this post and the logic being spewed here. The insinuation that tournament anglers are spreading viruses and parasites is ludicris. To target only that small group of fisherman demonstrates an underlining agenda here that goes deeper then keeping bass. So I did a quick check of the Arkansas record books to see if your logic that apparently can't be refuted is indeed working. Look what I found: Bass, Largemouth 16lb 4oz Mallard Lake 03/02/76 Focus in on the date of this catch. 1976. That is 30 years ago folks. HELLO!!!! Maybe I am not as sharp as some but I wouldn't call that a Success or working. Why hasn't any trophy sized bass been caught bigger then this since 1976? Well this might be a clue: *Many fishermen here in the south keep all they catch. Well, not only is that illegal it is also moronic and devoid of wisdom. But this sums up the problem coupled with this other response: *We have 7 fish cleaning stations around the south side of the lake, and all are well used, usually stopped up with carcasses too large for the grinder. Trash cans overflow daily. Hundreds of bass a day cycle through the stations on a typical Fri-Sun fishing period weather permitting. Well there you have it. I couldn't have said it better myself. Hundreds of bass carcasses line trash cans all over Arkansas lakes every weekend. Hhhmmm, I wonder what would have happened if some of those bass carcasses were let go before they became a carcass and were allowed to grow up? Perhaps Arkansas would have bigger bass today? But that is just speculation. I am sure the aformentioned logic of keeping all you catch is working though somewhere BTW, the reason states like California and Texas and Florida have produced quite a few fish of this size and bigger since 1976 is due mostly in part to C&R. You see if we harvest the 10lbers then we have a harder time growing 11lbers. If we harvest the 11lbers we have a harder time growing 12lbers, if we harvest the 12lbers we have a harder time growing 13lbers etc.etc.etc. The higher up this ladder we want to reach the tougher it gets when slightly smaller fish are being removed. In essence we have to start over again year after year after year. For those in Florida, this is why I made the other post about keeping or releasing your bass. This is why I not only do my part to help the trophy status of bass in my state but I also help others by encouraging them and educating them on why it is important to let BIG bass go. No it is not beneficial to the lake. Sorry guys. That point will never be agreed upon by me. Say what you will but removing large bass out of a lake will hurt the trophy fishery. So if developing a trophy fishery is important then release big bass. If it isn't then do what some here have said and keep every single bass you catch and take it home and eat it. very well said. Must of took you some time wrighting that. good job. And keithscratch, I dont know the size of your lake but im sure that there constintly stocking that lake with fish 24/7. I doupt half the big fish will make it to spawning season.
  12. No you all dont understand he keeps every fish he catches. He fallows the laws and regulations but keeping every fish you catch will harm the lake.
  13. Well I told my freind to always practice C&R but he says "Sorry I practice C&E (catch and eat)" It just ticks me off when he catches a nice healthy hawg and it goes into a cooler. I tell him that he is selfish because 50 other people could of caught that bass in the bass's life time. I tell him bass taste nasty and he agrees with me he just wants to keep the bass he says. I never accully met this guy i just talk to him online but he see's no reason why to practice C&R. Can you guys give me any pointers on how i can get my freind to practice C&R (I tried ditching him as a freind but he just says "ok go ahead not like i know you.")
  14. How do you do that whole state record thing? How long does it take. I voted no because it just seems so much of a hassel. I would rather keep the fish weigh it and take a picture of it on the scale as that my only proff.
  15. Does any 1 remeber the game Seria Trophy Bass fishing? In 1:25 that is the same clip as in the introduction of the game
  16. How do you all fear snakes? They fear you more then you fear them. They just have the guts to protect there nest and fight people 100x there size. If a gaint were to try and kill you all of you would run like wussys. But anyways you should be carfull were you step. Esspecialy on hallow logs. I onced steped on a old rotten log and it broke and 2 copperheads flew out. Im lucky that I did not step on them or I would be a gonner.
  17. Use a soft plastic bait and just pick up the bass he misses. If there is good enough action the bass should leave the coverage and go after your bait.
  18. My dad has a hot tub and he is always adding stuff in because the PH was off and his hands turned to raisins. So I have the materials to lower or increase PH and also I know how to measure it. For who ever the thing about Myth Busters is right. Heck it doesn't need a explosion. I see a lot of stuff on that show that don't even show any danger. Lets all email them! ;D
  19. Ill decide what I'm doing by the end of this week.
  20. I think you might be right on that one. The acids from the stomach could help It faster. I could always let there be more PH though. And I ment rust for hust and deplet is a word that means being used up or disappearing.
  21. Sort of both.
  22. Alot have been asking the question about a hooks life and when it will hust and deplet. I have a extra fish tank and I will write up a diary I guess you could say with pictures. There for the question well finnally be answerd I just need your help 1. Is this a stupied idea? 2. What kind of hook should I use (Brand, Size, Color) 3. Filter on or off 4. Level of PH 5. Any clorean? 6. Added material that you might find in a lake. 7. Current or no current. 8. How many days between observance 9. Any other information.
  23. I forgot about this one. I was fishing Lake Nedwood from bank because I know the best place on the lake and its right on the bank and I can pull like 10 bass out of this little place every time I fish it. Well It is really hard to get to becuase you have to walk though abunch of weeds hat are sholder high. Well these 2 adults and 2 children show up on a point thats right next to my honey spot and they drop a electric boat in the water and start fishing it right were I am casting. If anyone has a short fuse like me Im Sure you know what I did. If you dont just let your imagination take you from there.
  24. whats so bad about that? It's plain rude! You're talking about a $40,000 vehicle. You wouldn't want someone laying hydrilla on your new mercedes interior, especially when he can simply throw it over board! Weeds and grass hold mud, bugs, all kinds of junk. It's just plain ignorant. The non-boater is a guest on your boat. Ettiquette is expected. Oh I'm sorry I read that wrong. I read that like he wanted to drop them on his carpet and not over board. Sorry for being dyslexic :'( But now I know It is rude. I always though weeds over board.
