  1. What is the difference between the GoPro hero 3 and the GoPro hero 3+ ? EDIT........I found this: The benefits of having the new Hero 3+ are:- Better battery life, approx 20-30% better SuperView, extra wide angle Faster wifi, less lag, around 1sec now compared to around 4secs Smaller housing, smaller and lighter but less waterproof, only 40mtrs compared to 60mtrs. Although you can still use the Hero 3 housing if you need the extra 20mtrs There have been some complaints of the Hero 3+ have less focus at distant but it looks like this could be resolved in the latest batch of Hero 3+ cameras.
  2. When you take the fish up and out of the water........take a breath and hold it. ......I'm guessing that's kind of how the fish feels.
  3. I agree. The pro qualifier is all I use.
  4. Thanks.....I will keep that in mind. If I can wait.....that would be great. I know.....cash in hand is always better.

Siebert Outdoors is the only jig I use. Great quality and price right. Take a look here: http://www.siebertoutdoors.com
  6. BassPro has them on sale today for cyber monday......just saying.....good time to save $30 if you are gonna buy it anyway.
  7. At this point I have decided to buy a Nitro. But I am now trying to decide if I can make myself wait. The boat gorilla is a formidable adversary indeed. I am thinking I will wait a year...maybe two to buy it. We'll see if I can resist........it is very difficult and in fact, almost impossible for me to resist once the fever has set in..............thanks for all the input everyone. Chris
  8. I am in agreement with Sir. Local is ok for last minute type purchases. Any purchase that is significant in price I will purchase online if there is a savings. My finances are limited and finite.......I wish I had the financial resources to buy everything I want/need without consideration of savings. I have come to the conclusion I will never be financially independent.........but, I'm a lot closer to not being broke, if I pinch my pennies and save where I can.
  9. John G has a valid point. Each revolution of the spool releases a certain amount of line. Revolutions with the solo full release more line than a revolution at 70%. What I do a lot of times is spool completely with the line I prefer to use the first time. Then, when it's time to respool down the road..........I only use 70ish% . Using the original line as backer.
  10. That's not a problem for me. I can't hear anyways. Just ask my wife!
  11. C'mon everyone.............send Mike that registration form! Check your e-Mail Mike!
  12. So far, sounds like it was QC issue that might be put behind them? Pa Angler has a good story about them standing behind their product. The NADA seems to have them hold close to average resale value. Maybe there are more available because there are more sold? Not say'in.......just asking? They sure seem slick in the store and at the ramp. As far as competent repair guys.......could always go where I wanted to go. Thanks for the input......keep it coming.
  13. Today at Thanksgiving dinner I was asked what's wrong with a Nitro? Why does everyone say they are inferior? The only answer I had was, "I think back a bout 10 years ago, they had issues with transoms and quality control." So I thought I would come back to you all and get schooled on What's wrong with a Nitro and why do people bad mouth them? Thanks Chris
  14. Anyone use Save Phace mask while running in the boat? I am thinking about getting a save phace mask for running in inclement weather. I am thinking just the cheapest one I can find. Is there really much difference? I can see the welding/grinding masks being different but I can't really see much difference in the others. Thanks Chris
  15. Almost all of the advice I agree with totally. And in part with every tip......with following deviations.
  16. 17.135% of the boats loaded weight should be equal to the pulling vehicles horsepower. Example: my boat weighs 1850 loaded.......multiplied by 17.135%= 316.9975 HP. My truck has 317 hp so I'm good. ;-) Just kidding.......check the specs of towing vehicle, the loaded weight of your truck and see if it is within max tow weight.
  17. New boat. Good deal...........glad to hear they are doing right! It will be a kind of like Christmas present.
  18. That's Kiesel. He could never pull the boat cuz he'd be too worried it was after him......he's always skeered.
  19. There are alot of posts on this. It's the old chevy or ford, Nitro or Basscat ,ect. I think it boils down to this. Research all the TM available and narrow it down to the ones that meet your needs/wants. (based on features) Get the one YOU want. (you have to be happy with it...nobody else does) Get the MOST you can afford. (you can never have enough power) Last year I was on the fence as to get the MK 80 Terrova or the MG TR 82 FB Digital Tour Series. The gps stuff on the Terrrova is nice and it's electronic anchor is great. but I was concerned about any extra wiring for transducers going forward. In the end I went with the MG TR82. I absolutley love the the MGTR82.........BUT..............last week I was in the throughs of getting ready to sell the MG and buy the Terrova........I really wanted the electronic anchor. I was almost ready to post it for sale and I read about Lowrances new Spotlightscan coming out soon. It will only work with the cable steer type TM. So I decided to keep my TM and get the new Sportlightscan when it is available. I will still miss the electronic anchor.................and prob curse under my breath everytime I could use it. But I will have the one that meets my needs/wants.......based features available. As stated earlier in this thread..........you will notice a great improvement with your proposed unit.
  20. Ron is correct..............sorry. My statement about proces is based on my personal experience with local shops. Like others have stated, as a customer.......prices, services (ie reel repair), knowledge, friendliness, access (hours), convenience are what I say would drive my frequency of patronage. And I would say online presence is mandatory......makes access 24/7.......but you must keep your website current.....prices current, stock levels current, ect. Once a relationship has been established then you become just the place I go. Again...good luck.
  21. I'm a customer. I buy 99.9% of my tackle online or at my local Walmart, Academy Sports and Bass Pro. The local shops are higher because they can't buy and sell in the same volume as the big guys. Sometimes because I am lazy......stop at little tackle shop and buy minnows for the kids to fish with. I have a dream of owning a tackle shop........but only after I win the lottery in a big way. Then just so I'll have a place to be after I quit my job. But I'll hire a staff to work the shop so I can go fishing all I want and since I won the lottery I will not worry about turning a profit.....just break even or support it til I'm gone. Sorry don't mean to be disheartening......but any small business faces a terrible up hill battle........the curse of the www.worldwideinternet.com thing. Good luck to you and your buddies.....I wish you the very best in your endeavors and hope you are able to make me eat crow......I really do.
