  1. I don't use the Crankin' Rap, but I do use the Clackin' Rap. I love the sound and the weight on them. I would love to buy up all the ones that they have at DSG, but that would cost several hundred dollars
  2. I had the 7'6H Shock rod. And I think that it would be perfect for the Whopper Plopper 130 and the larger SPRO Rat as well as heavy jig fishing. It handles 2 oz lure well and does not feel like a broom stick despite the H rating. For $50, it is a good deal.
  3. I have the 7' MH and I used mine for every technique. It is a very versatile rod for very little amount of money.
  4. Nice fish. It seems that several of the fish that I've seen from the Potomac have the black marks along the bodies. I wonder if it is a special genetic mutation?
  5. I do that with most of my hardbaits. I fish in the evenings often and I do not look forward to unhooking a treble in the dark. It is just a hospital trip waiting to happen.
  6. Were they all on the lipless crank?
  7. Check to make sure that the line is not overfilled and rubbing against anything.
  8. Looks just like the Livetarget for less than 1/2. I might give them a try.
  9. Stopped by my local Walmart tonight and it seems like the whole fishing section was on clearance. Some deals better than others. I got a spool of 10lb Big Game for $5 and a bunch of panfish hooks (10 pack) for $.15 a pack. The Zoom Fat Albert Grubs was $1.50. GYCB baits were $5. I didn't have time to look through all the stuff, but hopefully you all have sales at your Walmarts as well.
  10. Dang, what does 200+ lbs look like? Even my fishing rods/reels comes with a warning that it may contain lead.
  11. After 5 times, I hope that you realized by now that you need fishing insurance.
  12. How do you go about snagging them? Just cast out and reel back in really fast?
  13. They look really good. I have replaced several of my lipless crankbaits to single hooks. Let us know how you do.
  14. Those look pretty cool. Seems like a good solution to make the ned rig weedless as long as the hook is not too long to impede the worm's moment.
  15. Ouch, I am glad that you were able to get it out without permanent injuries. I cringed looking at that photo...
  16. I fished the chrome 30 rat all last year. I've caught some really nice fish on it. It definitely works.
  17. I have never seen the Spro Rat on sale before. I'll have to check at my DSG.
  18. As long as the rod has enough power, the MF action should be fine. I actually prefer MF action rods over F or XF, helps me feel like I am getting full use out of the rod.
  19. I have one that I've thrown once in a while. Even though I don't see why it won't catch fish, I have not caught anything on it yet. I had a couple of blow ups on it, but the fish did not get hooked. So I switched out the frog hook with a treble. I love the weight and how far it can cast. I have a feeling that 2017 is the year that I'll get a fish on that lure.
  20. The Laguna is a great reel. I have 4 of them. I have one in use and 3 as backups for when the 1st one wears out. From the looks of it, that will take a while.
  21. There is a post from a couple of weeks ago saying that Pure Fishing is being sold off piece by piece...including Abu Garcia. Perhaps that has something to do with it? Guess we will see.
  22. You can try a texas rig to come through the cover easier.
  23. Awesome fish. I am jealous.
