  1. April 27th is the official start of the catch and release season for bass here in Michigan. Our official season starts the weekend before Memorial day. Tomorrow will be our first 60 degree day of the year, I just might go out and try to catch a pike, and accidentally catch a Bass!! That's my idea of legal reverse psychology. LOL
  2. I thought this might need repeating.
  3. I'm going to use rubber bands instead of bobber stoppers. I believe glenn has suggested that. Although the good ole toothpick hasn't failed me yet.
  4. Good job!! Any learning tool that helps you catch bass and keeps you at the water is a good thing. Quick question, where's the chapter on knots? I have a knott app on my phone for those times I have a brain fart. Some of us old guys get those from time to time. LOL
  5. They show up at our county's only catch and release pond. It's enforced on the honor system, When I'm there, it's an honor for me to inform them of the rules. As I make my way around the pond I make sure everybody understands the parks catch and release rules. It's only fair!!
  6. That is awesome!!
  7. That is the law here in Michigan for most of the state. The first month is actually catch and immediate release. Some parts of the state bass season starts the end of May or sometime in June.
  8. Here in Michigan, Bass season starts April 27th,
  9. Picked up some Yum Money Frogs for $1.50 @ Walmart
  10. Who ever has the best price!!
  11. Michigans possession limit is one days limit plus an additional two days limit as long as those additional limits have been processed( canned, smoked ,frozen, etc). As A-Jay previously stated, the DNR is so understaffed a complaint would have to be filed with the possibility of a major violation for them to actively pursue search warrants. Our Bass limit is 5 with a minimum of 14" starting the last weekend of April(catch and release only thru the last weekend of May) for most of the lower peninsula.
  12. My Strikeback has a rubber band.
  13. They are listed as SK promo, the SK representing Strike King.
  14. Nope, I'm not eating lead. I worry more about whats in or on our food instead.
  15. That just looks like part of the job description to me!!
  16. I guess Daytona set the tone. I've been watching NASCAR forever( at least 40 yrs ) never saw them run the top exclusively until this year. Bristol night race used to be the hardest ticket to get, not any more. NASCAR has been boring for some time, in fact it's so boring at my home track ( MIS ) that they have removed 5 sections of stands and have tickets as low as $25 and still can't sell the joint out. As a side note after watching Sundays broadcast I'm not sure which got more air time, the commercials or the race!!
  17. Don"t forget the Berkley spend $40 get $15 rebate!!
  18. You could do that if you want to. However Berkley also sells the Havoc Pit Chunk. I have both and I expect them to work just fine in about 40 days.
  19. I'm using Megastrike this year. It comes in a tube and I will be using it on just about everything I decide to throw in the water!
  20. I love the brand smack talk, it keeps things lively!!
  21. Worms and spinnerbaits!!
  22. I agree with some of the other guys. It's just not the fad thing to be throwing. IMO nothing beats a worm, that's why there are so many to choose from.
  23. Congrats on starting your season. I am so jealous!!
  24. We all get skunked occasionally. I also do a lot of shore fishing. Being from Michigan I still have a week or two before some of my spots are thawed. Once that occurs I will be fishing in the Northwest corner of the lake or pond and it will be in the afternoon. The reason for this is because of the trajectory of the sun at this time of the year, the Northern part of the lake receives the majority of the sunlight and the western part of the lake receives it the longest. It will simply be the warmest part of the body of water that I am trying to fish.
