  1. I've never used him yet, but after several hundred satisfied people here, I will be using him soon.
  2. I appreciate it. I think I want to stick with a MH for now.
  3. That really sounds like my ticket then. I plan on using 30 pound brand so the more moderate the better for me. THanks
  4. Yikes! I don't have the exact weight on the GL2 but 4.1 ounces is super light. I know just from memory that's lighter than the GL2. Thanks looks like I'm gonna pull the trigger on it. I think with the Gander Rebate it may save me 15 dollars.
  5. Is the medium heavy going to be too much rod then? I know on the Loomis mediums it feels like a crappie rod
  6. Jeff, How light it is compared to say the GL2's? I think my two I have are around 7-8 ounces
  7. I need a new cranking rod and am looking to spend around 200 ish. I had been set on the GL2 MH cranking but keep hearing good things about these Avids. Can someone school me on these? I don't think my local BP has these in stock to try. I'm after the 7' MH. It will be used for mainly Series 4 SQ bills, 4 medium divers and 5 XD's. With the TW sale I can get this around 175 shipped 2nd day air or 170 ground. Thanks.
  8. I've been using it now for about 3 months in 20 pound as a leader on 40 pound braid. It seems to be working very well. No major fraying and only break off was my fault for not checking the line. I run about 7 foot and use it all day. I usually end up cutting it off when it get home. I bought it on sale for 10 bucks. I kinda wished I'd gotten two more spos of 20 and 14 now. My go to fluoro is BP XPS. I don't think I will be changing over to Vanish, anytime soon, but in a pinch I wouldn't feel bad using it as my main leader. I'm not sold as a main line yet.
  9. I'll add up some plastics and crap load of Senko type baits this evening.
  10. I have or had both. I was not impressed with the Citica at all. For the 130 dollar price tag, I think the Revo S is a much better reel. If you want even nicer and want to stick with Shimano, jump to 160 and grab the Curado. I've got two and love both to death. One is my tube rig which gets used year round and other is my swim jig rig which is used alot! That said, I have the PQ as well. It's my cranking reel and I've had it for about a year now. It was used when I got it. It's been running perfect. I don't think any reel in the 80-100 dollar price range can compete with it. You get both breaking systems and a metal frame. I've been trying to replace it with a Chronarch for about 2 months now, but everytime I go to buy one, I stop myself because the PQ is still running strong.
  11. I've got a buddy with one. He's probably waking up getting ready for his tourney as we a speek. He loves his and has some really good things to say. Ill shoot him a text this evening and have him respond.
  12. Cool. If they don't have any I've got a bunch at the house and can send some. I'm saving all my gear points for either a Core or MGX next reel trade
  13. If you have an academy close by I'd try them too. They had a sale yesterday 2 dollars all Havoc baits. No scent or salt, but I butter em up with MegaStrike.
  14. Got a picture of them?
  15. For your first time I suggest this. Buy some cheap mono. Run the line through 3 guides toward the spool. Tie to the spool using an arbor knot. Fill the entire spool up with the mono leaving about 1/16 " of spool showing. Cut the line and thread it all the way through the guides. Go outside and tie the end of the line to a tree or a stationary object. Walk back about 55-60 yards. Cut the line at your guides. Throw the rest away. Now tie your mono to the braid using the Alberto knot as ww2farmer posted in that video. Spool up leaving 1/32 to 1/16" of spool remaining. What you've done is put on only 60 yards of braid. Saving your braid for another rig or another spool up time. Even with you furthest cast, you will more than likely never get to the backing. Keep a note on where your mono was on the spool. Next time just spool the mono to that point and you don't have to waist any line. Tie the braid and your set.
  16. That revos pretty light. I'd say it should work well
  17. The subwoofer is the only chatter bait and swim bait trailer I use. That tail puts off a crap load of action. I can feel it in my rod tip.
  18. I almost bought those yesterday, but Academy had Trokars for 3.49. I use Kylek's video method
  19. I like the Caffeine Shad from Strike King when I was a super slow presentation. Normal the Zoom is great. If you want an erratic crazy crack head like movement, the Rad Shad from Bruiser Baits is awesome.
  20. One guy has his and it was Gen 1 medium
  21. As long as I don't break my PB on it. I did that 6 years ago and still haven't landed anything close to that weight again
  22. Hey whatever makes you feel better lol But seriously. You've got me thinking of one now. I want a 7' medium for a rage rig set up. I had my heart set on a 7'1 GL2.......
  23. You have two colors of carpet man lol It looks good. I like the jeweled look. It matches that Revo well even if its a southpaw!
  24. They have 3 left. 2 mediums and a Medium Heavy. 99.96 a piece. No casting left but man if I only used spinning lol
  25. Remember, glass with topwater is gonna wear you out quick if your walking a spook frog etc.
