  1. I plan on trying to use a neko and drop shot more often, also some finesse cranks and swim jigs. I just hope to be able to make/find more time to hone the craft.
  2. I use a hi-vis yellow Power Pro and Cabela's brand braid.
  3. I use 1/4 oz 100% of the time, mostly because I rarely fish anything deeper than 10 feet.
  4. Sent my package out today!
  5. When I was a teacher I moonlighted at the local Cabela's - really enjoyed my time there. I worked in the always wonderful Bargain Cave, but ventured out to the Fishing section often to help customers.
  6. I am replacing 2 spinning rods that I stupidly broke. A medium light and a medium. I will likely go to cabelas and use my points and also gift cards. Trying to stay under 150 total. What do you use and like?
  7. For those of you who use the neko rig.....what do you use? 1. Worm 2. Weight.....type and size 3. Hook 4. Line 5. Reel 6. Rod As always....I appreciate all responses and the shared knowledge at BassResource.com!
  8. I am sure most of you have seen this article in the Wichita Eagle regarding the dredging of John Redmond. Thoughts? http://www.kansas.com/sports/outdoors/article45166872.html
  9. I love fishing at Polk Daniels.....place is loaded with spotted bass!
  10. I think he would beat me even if I got to fish for 2 days and he only got 4 hours.
  11. Lets share what we use when we throw the Ned Rig. I use a 6' L paired with a size 2000 Cabela's Fish Eagle Tournament II Spinning Reel with 20lb Power Pro Braid, sometimes with a 6lb flouro leader....sometimes not.
  12. Ran into this nice one at Harvey County East Lake near Newton, KS using a white 1/8th oz Road Runner
  13. They look like they would be fun on a midwest finesse (Ned Rig).
  14. I am not sure if I have a go to brand at this point. Really depends on each type of bait for me. But the brands I most often use are Zoom, Z-Man, Strike King, NetBait, Yum.
  15. I tend to lean towards mono when using buzzbaits. Most likely because I have limited rod selection and have one for most of my topwater applications, so I just keep it spooled up with mono (Big Game) to make transitions between topwater baits easier.
  16. I tell people about spots I have had success in. Hasn't been a problem yet.
  17. I have a "Go Bag" always ready to go with an assortment of my go to tackle. I usually take 4 rods with me, 2 spinning and 2 casting. 1 of the spinning rods is for panfish.
  18. Lots of great suggestions, thanks! Does anyone have a homemade/re-purposed storage solution?
  19. Great tips everyone! Any preferences on chest mount vs head mount videos, and comfort for the fisherman? Thanks again!
  20. I haven't found a storage system I like yet for my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Enlighten me BassResource.com gurus. What do you like?
  21. Many of you make your own fishing videos, and I would love suggestions on equipment needed for starting to make my own videos. I am going to be giving myself a gift when I lose 30 lbs ( 9 lbs down in my first 2 weeks!). Some things to consider when contemplating a list for me. 1. I usually bank fish or use my small 8 foot plastic boat with a trolling motor. 2. My wife and I are both in education, so lets not look at the highest end materials. 3. Include video editing program suggestions. 4. I anticipate just documenting my fishing excursions at this point, but may want to expand into reviews and how to's. (Just like 2.3 million others, I know). Thanks for all input, suggestions, and tips! Love posting on here and hope to show off all my tiny Kansas bank fishing bass catches soon!

  23. When I was teaching, I had a classroom aquarium with one bluegill/green sunfish hybrid. "Barbie the Bluegill" lived for 4 years in my classroom of 5th graders. She was able to eat both live and manufactured food. She grew to a nice big size, then I had to let her go after I got a new job in a new city. Her is a picture of her when I first put her in, she gained her color back quickly, and she was very colorful most everyday.
