Over the last few days I fished at Chase County State Fishing Lake and caught a few dinky spotted bass on my cavitron buzzbait, they loved blasting it. The my brother and I went to a walk in pond near strong city and he caught his first bass using soft plastics (baby brush hog), 2.5lbs not too bad.

My cavitron buzzbait last night, tiny bass smacked it hard.

My neighbor says he has caught "several 13lb plus bass" at a local lake. These would be state records by several lbs here in KS.

I am a maybe, with a partner.....trying to convince my boss (who is an avid club fisherman) to go with me.

Several variable have been mentioned on many different posts, but how would you rank the variables in bass fishing. Just so we are all agreeing on what a variable is, the definition will include anything that can be changed to improve your odds in catching fish. These variables can be controllable (lure profile) or uncontrollable (weather). Lets get those opinions flying and please limit yourself to the 5 most important!

I wish I could, but I am interning at the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in Wichita. I love it, but I have to get 810 hours of internship for my masters degree, so my fishing has been very limited to say the least. Any chance I can catch bass in the Arkansas River right behind my workplace? I walked a bit of it the other day and it has some bassy looking spots!

I love fishing at McPherson state lake, and caught my personal best this spring from the shore, 5lb 5oz. Very good lake!

When it comes to soft plastics are you a one brand fisherman example: only use Zoom products, or do you diversify? I really like Zman products and I am thinking of being a one brand guy.....

CCCDrew - that Spotted Bass you caught was close to the state record! Wish you had a picture of it. The only spots I have caught are pretty small, but that is because I was fishing out of a very low Fox Creek.
