  1. The weightless worm has always been popular around here as a jerkbait rod. I think its better than the rod Falcon actually calls a jerkbait rod which has always felt too soft to me. The WW is basically a MH butt with a medium tip. Remember, it was meant to be a floating worm rod but it fishes a popper or sammy well also.
  2. In your mind it’s wrong. What has Luke Dunkin ever won ? Without you YouTube, he would be irrelevant. Last I saw he was fishing the ABT big deal I can do that
  3. How much tournament experience do you have ? Just wondering if you have ever been around . Sounds like you have a lot of anger towards someone you don't know
  4. Well, It's more like being told to pee in Alabama and then peeing in Florida. Since you have the inside info here's something that maybe you can answer. He has to be one of if not the best if not the best on Okeechobee . Why would he ask anyone for help ? Also who turned him in this time? Shouldn't that guy have to sack up ,be a man about it and come forward ?
  5. It's entirely possible, but I remember when we didn't have GPS or even 2d. The old flasher didn't tell you anything close to what a pass with side or down will now. So just my opinion but if some body had some info it actually may have helped more back then if the fish stayed put. It used to be hard to catch another mans fish, at least for me. I got burned more than once by listening to others.
  6. USA bassin about 10 years ago my partner and I qualified for the nationals. a few FLW derbys and Local stuff also. At 66 years old I'm about retired. Maybe a team deal once in a while with my buddies I will however fish a BFL as a co angler still. Let those young guys run the boat.
  7. If you choose to believe that good for you. There's more than enough social media posts from guides around here that someone coming to Table Rock for the first time would have an idea where to start. If they don't have social media talk to the guy at the bait shop. Now, if your in a kayak and can't run around at 70 mph and scan them at 30 maybe some info would help but if you can't find fish in 3 days you should save your entry money.
  8. There was a time I would have agreed with that. Today, I'm not so sure. These critters have a habit of moving around. Maybe different in other areas but around here yesterday is old info especially this time of year. These days I can run around with 2d and downscan at 30mph and waypoint them then drop the FFS. That's real time not yesterday . Having someone give you a starting point helps but not like it once did.
  9. Didn’t he have the saltwater FFS transducer on his boat then ? I remember something about it having more range. When he got closer he could switch to the 34
  10. Heck , They used to hire guides to pre fish with . I knew a guy who has since passed that took 2 guys out before an event on Table Rock. Tying up fish is cheating. Short of that, ehhh
  11. 100%. i'm not sure why he would want to fish the elites anyway. I would think he could make a great living guiding out of his dad's marina and watching his daughters career Hopefully , he hasn't derailed that. Honestly I don't think guys getting a little teach is all that uncommon. I heard ramp talk or whatever you want to call it in my less than stellar career but who cares? information that isa week old is pretty much useless.
  12. I'm pretty sure he knew that BASS was never going to recognize the outside polygraph anyway. It was an attempt to save face and maybe some of his reputation for his families sake. If he had failed the independent one I doubt he ever would have said a word.
  13. I mean if your sure that the guy who gives them for bass is better than a guy with 25 years of law enforcement experience and certified by Florida to give them then OK.
  14. I'm not his biggest fan but BASS has turned into an absolute sheet show. I hear he hired a independent polygraph examiner and passed.
  15. If you already have the Legend glass you have a great squarebill , and mid diving crankbait bait rod. I'm sure it would fish the mini max or a 3/8 bladed jig fine. They are no more prone to breakage than any other rod.
  16. Interesting idea. 2 line ties. One in the front for your traditional minner shakin' needs and one on top for vertical presentation. I'm anxious to try it.
  17. For me I don't think it's the weight that matters so much as the profile, at least around here. The trend seems to be moving to the more compact stuff like the Jewel pee wee. We have a local jig called a Dirks that guys waited in line for. I use the 1/2 oz but it only has a 16 strand skirt and I think that's the difference at times around spots and smallmouth. A heavy jig is going to a reaction strike especially on the initial drop and in the summer I fish a 5/8 or 3/4 but honestly those same fish will probably bite a big worm .
  18. I didn't know it was still available. I fished several years back and liked it.
  19. I don't think it matters any. A cast bait. B retrieve bait C yo yo bait and roll up slack. Same for the squarebill, some days you can burn it .some days they want it slow.
  20. I use reel snot. Good stuff.
  21. What makes you think you only need rattles. The silent models work also. They offer DRS in the 1.5 2.0 and 2.5. what other sizes are you looking for.
  22. I have a few in Kentucky blue and whatever they call Table rock shad. They are nice in that you don't have to use the ol' Redfin recipe of 2 suspend dots behind the joint and a feathered treble on the back and hope for the best .And, for the really brave, the cigarette lighter to the lip to bend it down. I've put a few in the trash behind that trick. Braid goes a long way in helping a so so Redfin run better.
  23. If you're open to other brands in that price range I would check out the Phenix feather. You will have to move up a power but they are a great rod.
