  1. I personally don't take it all that seriously ,but to each his own.
  2. The Amistad has always been my favorite Cara followed by the Head turner and swim jig rod. I have never owned nor fished the HCJ as it's not a rod I would use in the Ozarks.
  3. Honestly ,I would say save your money for another year or so and buy something worth bringing home. Your money will go further with an aluminum boat, I started with one like most everyone That was 5 boats ago. The down side is the ride and they just aren't as good on the trolling motor as a glass boat. Whatever you decide get a compression test done on the motor.
  4. I'd guess I have bought/sold/traded 150 rods from them over the last 8 or 9 years. There has been some that have gotten broken or wind up all the way across the country because of shipping issues but never do to negligence on ALFs part. If I have an issue Brian gets me taken care of he has gone above and beyond what I expected several times. I personally have sworn off the back order deal regardless of who it is. I waited since October for a bait from TW that has never made it. They are at the mercy of the suppliers I know but I don't need the stress. They are launching a new website. ' , '
  5. I have one on the way . Does anyone have one or any thoughts ? I'm planning on throwing squarebills with it. Any other techniques ?
  6. Rod for a Zillion ? Buy a Steeze.
  7. Well said, The fist time I dropped a mesh sleeve over the side I was surprised at how fast the thing sank.
  8. Flouro for everything except braid for topwater.
  9. I just use the Buzbees and Liv's. They ain't the cheapest but they work really well. One of my happiest days was pulling all the mesh rods socks I had in my boat and throwing them in the trash at the marina. If you buy the fixed length ones from Falcon I agree. Whatever you do don't buy the model that's adjustable for length by folding the tip over.
  10. I've been using the Steeze universal light and man, its a dandy for those little jewel pee wee jigs . But of course it's double the price.
  11. If your talking about fishing a 5/16 ball head I think it's pretty tough to beat the Cara finesse jig in that price range.
  12. I got a bottle of the Norries bite powder. Too early to call but it's worth a try . I got mine from Japan but I understand that Spro is going to distribute it here in the states.
  13. Where do I fish ? I have a place on Table rock. Also fish Bull shoals and some on the St .Johns /Lake George. About 50 years now.
  14. I have had it happen. A tube showed up on my front porch with 2 Lew's rods in it. I sent them back also. Doesn't matter where it came from the principal is the same. I have to ask , are you and medium mouth bass related ?
  15. I have 8 of them, never have done a thing. I've happy with mine.
  16. I don't think your going to find a rod that you can throw and step on. Honestly what your describing is just being careless . If there's a defect in manufacturing the rod company should make it right but they shouldn't have to pay for someone to abuse the product. If I throw my highball glass through the TV watching the hockey game should Visio give me a new one ?
  17. I haven't broke a rod in 25 years so it's just not something I even consider when buying. Performance wise , G loomis , Daiwa and Alpha Angler.
  18. Hey, your the dude that knows everything, it's not personal your just talking out of your hat and you insist your always right
  19. Okay. You have zero experience. You have no clue except what you parrot from other forums. But you go ahead and do what your 1 year of bass fishing knowledge tells you. I don't think you will see any prop wash from a kayak
  20. Side imaging doesn't work well at the front. The boat needs to be moving around 5mph to get a decent return.
  21. I like the smaller size blitz as well. OSP is a quality bait for sure.
  22. I use either 1/8 or 1/4 oz ball heads. I like a light wire hook hook that I can straighten when the thing gets hung up. 25lb. assassin , wrap it around the boat cleat and hit the trusty 36 volt. something will give.
  23. That ol' Maxima is tougher than a Kroeger steak. I used the 5lb. for years to swim a grub with but it will coil especially in the cold weather. I'm sure you know that you can still find Armilo. I just bought some 11lb. a couple weeks ago. stock up.
