Flouro Line Advantages
Unless you are fishing extremely clear water, line visabilty shouldn't be much of a concern if you ask me. Think about what the Alabama rig is. It's a bunch of thick wires attached to the baits. Can't get much more visible than that.

New To Kayak Fishing
There's basically two kinds of kayaks, sit-in and sit on top. That's the first decision you'll have to make. The sit on tops usually are slightly heavier, but have storage inside for things you don't want to get wet. Also the won't fill up with water if you accidentally flip it. Then it comes to brand. There's a lot of them out there, and in your price range you could get a nice fishing Ascend brand kayak that Bass Pro sells that should handle rivers and lakes pretty well. There are a lot of other brands out there though with varying prices...

Baitcaster Line Capacity
The reel should also show what diameter the line is for that capacity. Such as 12lb/.027/120yds. Not all lines are created equal so some 12lb lines could be .027" and some could be thinner or thicker. It should say on the line box or spool what the diameter is when you buy it. You can also use that as a guide for other pound test line too on how much can fit on your reels.

New Jitterbugs Sinking?
They sent me an email and told me to send them the malfunctioning baits and they will send me new ones. It's not the line because the black one sinks in a cup of water.

New Jitterbugs Sinking?
I used to love using Jitterbugs when I was a kid and they just plain caught fish early in the morning and late in the evening. I somewhere have lost my older Jitterbugs along the way so I thought I would pick up a few at Wally a couple weeks ago in Arbogasts Triple Threat pack which has a black 2.5" Jitterbug, a frog colored 2.5" Jitterbug, and a white/black Hula Popper. I went to use the black Jitterbug the other day and cast it into the water and watched it disappear, not because a fish hit it, but because it started sinking in the water. Because of this, it's action was seriously hindered and it just kind of plowed through the water until it got to the surface about 15' in front of me. It definitely didn't have the nice side to side walking action the earlier models of Jitterbugs had that I used as a kid. The frog colored one actually doesn't sink, but it really doesn't float much either and it sits rather low on the surface. Again, this makes it a lot harder to use than the old Jitterbugs I had as a kid. It does have the walking action to it, but I have to reel it extremely slow or it dives under the surface and the blade causes it to shoot off to the side as it digs into the water. It's caught me a few fish when I do retrieve it slowly, but I know it's not supposed to work like it does. Any thoughts? Has Arbogast's quality slipped over the years? Different materials used? I have sent a message to Arbogast to ask them the same questions, so hopefully they respond with what's going on.

Building Your Own Honey-Hole
Google PVC fish attractors. Lots of ways to make them. The problem with PVC Is that it will be there forever. A lot of public lakes have regulations against PVC attractors too so do your homework before you go sinking them.

Mcs Check This Out
That's pretty awesome. I'm going to teach my daughter that worms aren't 'icky' and that fishing can be a ton of fun.

Snagged
While it doesn't work so well for me, my uncle uses a line popping technique to get his lures loose. Seems like it works best on single hook baits such as jigs and worm rigs. He lifts his rod to put tension on the line then grabs the line just above the reel and pulls it out tight and then releases it quickly to "pop" it. This quickly releases the tension on the bait and usually it drops free from what it is caught on. I would say he probably has a 50-60% success rate doing this. The other times he just trolls the boat over and gets it loose.

Lets see your best.
This is the biggest one I've ever caught. Not sure on the weight since my scale got water in it on that trip, but it was about 19" long so I'm thinking almost 3lbs

Dumb Question About Farm Ponds
The thing with big bass in smallish farm ponds is that the forage has to be present for them to grow to any size. Also, there must be the right ratio of bass to other fish in the pond. There can't be to many bass either because they'll just compete for food and it will stunt their growth. The size of the pond has to be large enough to support big bass too. Too small and they won't be able to grow due to lack of forage, cover, etc. Depth of the pond also plays a part in producing big bass so they have a place to stay cool in hot summer months.

Twin Spins
Talon Custom Lures and War Eagle make them. Not buck tail but wouldn't be hard to replace the rubber skirt with one.

Lost In The Pile Of Rods
The Abu Veritas rods are on sale on WalMarts website for about $76 after tax and free shipping. Normally $99 before tax. I just got one and while I haven't used it yet it feels great paired with my 3rd gen Revo S.

Right Hand Fisherman: What Success In Reeling With Left?
I'm right handed but cast better with my right hand and reel with my left. So I have all left handed reels.

Need A Portable Graph
I'd just get some c-channel or a piece of 1/4" stock and mount the transducer to it and then c-clamp or vice grip it to the transom. Lots of temporary mounting solutions really.

Should You Switch Doors?
Mythbusters did this test too. If you stick with your original door your chances remain at 1 out of 3 (33.3%). If you switch your door after the host reveals one that increases your chances to 1 out of 2 (50%). They showed it was better to switch doors because there's a better chance that other door has the prize since the host knows the one he opened isn't the prize. It's confusing but they explain things better here: http://community.discovery.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9401967776/m/74419288901/p/1

Great Deal On Veritas Micro Guide Rods
Just got my Veritas in the mail today. Got to love FedEx Saturday deliveries! I can' believe how light it is. I have a Shimano Clarus 6'10" baitcast rod I bought last year (I think it's a '10 model) and this thing is about half what that rod weighs it seems... It did come in with 2 bent micro guides though, but nothing I couldn't bend back like they should be. Can't wait to get my Revo S this weekend to put on it!
