  2. its all good, i take mine out for a weekend trip and find some way to stop by cabelas or bps on the way home. butter her up all weekend,,, get something sweet on the way home. good thing she doesnt look, i think im past 30 rods, have every one since i started 25 years ago. you know its bad when you have boxes that havnt even been poen yet. lol

  5. im a jack butt,your right, lol.
  6. are you using a spinning rod, adjusting the drag on my bait caster might be tough after a fish is hooked,
  7. all this talk about trophy fish made me think of the few lunkers ive been lucky to catch. you set that hook and its solid, you know its big! but whats the best way to get that bad girl into the boat. you dont want to horse it in. what are the fundamentals to ensure you make the best effort on landing the fish.
  8. i dont know if this will be any help, but i used to see what was tied up in front of the boat, and choose my favorite rod and reel, choose my bait, and lay out a couple options in case. quick snaps helped, but my grandpa would tell me there is no excuse for not tying a new knot when moneys on the line
  9. i like to use snaps on my crankbaits and when im throwing a spook, i think it helps walk better with less effort. i have never bothered removing the ring. no colmplaints other then the size 1 hurts to take off at the end of the day
  10. sorry. i think my little monkey crashes on your couch. lol. .
  11. texas rigged senko in the summer works great, make sure to poke the hook out the senko the tuck the tip back in. its a big bait to set a hook through
  12. i like the norman dd22 with a feather trailer. killer, but i do loose a few, great posts on the gear, long rod under the arm helps the hands alot
  13. nice to see you were takn care of. makes you feel good, how was the light though before it took a dump. realy want to try some night fishing this summer
  14. one of my favorite baits is a sexy frog, or large hollow frog of some sorts. early morning or late afternoon, but if the sun is high and hot, i like to try them on isolated grass mats. work them hard to the edge, and just let it sit. i think the sun up helps make a decent shadow for the bass to locate the frog.
  15. wow, thank you br members. i will b looking further into this.
  16. you scrape up the loose change from the floor of your truck for launch fees

any tips, i own some but have never used one. alot of great things from everybody on BR. hear spoons mentioned alot. any dept/ structure to look for, vertical or jig?
  23. being ten minutes from this lake the lower 3rd is closest to me. sounds like a good place to start, this lake is big and a long cold boat ride doesnt seem too fun unless i know the fish are stacked up in the creeks. i have some spoons but have never used one. will give it a shot. thanks for all the help
