How To Land That Monster Bass
all this talk about trophy fish made me think of the few lunkers ive been lucky to catch. you set that hook and its solid, you know its big! but whats the best way to get that bad girl into the boat. you dont want to horse it in. what are the fundamentals to ensure you make the best effort on landing the fish.

Co-Anglers - Crankbaits
i dont know if this will be any help, but i used to see what was tied up in front of the boat, and choose my favorite rod and reel, choose my bait, and lay out a couple options in case. quick snaps helped, but my grandpa would tell me there is no excuse for not tying a new knot when moneys on the line

Frog Fishing
one of my favorite baits is a sexy frog, or large hollow frog of some sorts. early morning or late afternoon, but if the sun is high and hot, i like to try them on isolated grass mats. work them hard to the edge, and just let it sit. i think the sun up helps make a decent shadow for the bass to locate the frog.

When To Start Looking For Bass
being ten minutes from this lake the lower 3rd is closest to me. sounds like a good place to start, this lake is big and a long cold boat ride doesnt seem too fun unless i know the fish are stacked up in the creeks. i have some spoons but have never used one. will give it a shot. thanks for all the help
