  1. finess swimbaits for suspended bass, and the carolina rig is my go to classic. you can drop shot in any dept, try flipping mats with it as well
  2. i saw this a few times last spring and it will drive you nuts. i have been told to down size in the same color. but havnt had a chance to try yet
  3. at the end of every tournoment you always hear that some one lost the fish that would of won.
  4. its lake berryessa, thanks i think i still have a whole box of uncle josh pork trailers
  5. the first thing i thought of when i saw it. i would cut the hook out. you can clip the hook point with cutters and pull it out the gill.
  6. whats your favorite trailer for jigs when the water temp drops.
  7. it takes you eight hours to pack your tackle box.
  8. i would look for the bass to be hanging out in the 10-15 foot rang by timber or rock. if you can find green grass thats a plus. slow is key
  9. great answer, also the clearer the water the more natural i want my plastics to be, both size and color. ps just because the water is 50 deg. doesnt mean a big hawg wont eat a 10in worm.
  10. find some green grass if there is any left and rip a lv 500 through it. pig magnet

any thought to what the best set up is, I have the yum flash mob, yum 3 wire, and some Picasso baits, all with Minos style baits. didn't use to much last year but will be trying this year

great job, I haven't thrown it too much but the majority of the tournaments last year if you didn't have one tied on you might as well go home. until about march, then I didn't see any
  13. normally I will stay at least 30 min in one area, not one spot. but will revisit if it looks good a few times a tournament. conditions on the water dictate a lot and you have to try and be versatile .

I know bass don't have a rule book, but the tournament last week was won off a a-rig. smashed it by 10lbs . water temp still in the mid 60's here in California a I thought it was mostly a pre spawn bait. too early or have others already started tossing this beast until your arms fall off.
  15. you should be able to tell what a hard bottom looks like on the graph. the grass should be a lighter color and will be either in humps or jagged points. I've never been to a lake with out grass. but normally 20ft or less is a good place to start looking

net bait or rage craw. Berkley has some new stuff out too
  17. if they put the candy store in front of the fish tank I would be broke. lol
  18. if im fishing a heavy jig. when you set the hook right your goods should hurt.. lol. no room for wimpy hook sets pulling hawgs out of heavy cover in the ca delta. to each their own
  19. I would fish what you want and tuck away a bag of your favorite soft plastic just in case.
  20. great catch, 5-6lbs imo. during spawn maybe 8. great job, always makes you feel good to catch a nice one
  21. best all around place is the delta..... don't forget your wind breaker
  22. I fished a lot of creeks when I started. when fishing gets tough reach for the shaky head and 4in worm. current breaks are key
  23. turn the phone off and fish.. lol. my grand pa has cut my line a few times as well. funny know
  24. took a buddy out this weekend, first one out no problem. but took an hour and a half to get out. 6 fish including a 4lb smallie on a rc freak in 18ft of water. I think it is every weekend skiers dream to take 45 minutes to launch their boat then tie it to the only two docks at the ramp only to forget some thing back in the car. im with sam. next holiday weekend im bringing the cooler and chairs
