  1. I got a 100 yard spool of 12# line in this month's LTB. I read one person's opinion on it, which is that it's junk. I was just wondering if anyone else had any experience with it before I spool up a baitcaster with it.
  2. I just picked up a couple of the CRR-5's and I won't have a chance to use them for at least a couple more weeks. I was just wondering how they compare to the KVD 1.5's and 2.5's.. Which do you like better? Or feel free to add your other favorite square bills to the conversation.
  3. Must be some cultural differences. I know Missouri people who say the same thing about Alabama.
  4. I'd buy one, for sure. I'd need a 2 or 3X
  5. Sorry for not being more specific. I know the veritas is going for 79.99 at Cabelas and bass pro. I just checked TW and it looks like it's still 99 there.
  6. In a week or two I'm going to buy a new tackle bag and about $50 worth of lures.. Then I'm going to start saving for a new rod and reel which I'll probably spend about $250 on. I keep telling myself that once I have those things I will be set, and I can stop buying fishing gear... Yeah right.
  7. I started to say an hour a day on average.. But I thought about it, and it's probably more like 2+
  8. The Abu Veritas is currently $79.99. It was $99.99 previously.
  9. What's sad is that we wouldn't even be having a conversation about rules/laws to keep people off the water if people displayed a little class, courtesy and common sense.
  10. $79.99 is the NEW price? I thought they were just on sale.
  11. I've fished all kinds of baits on my spinning gear, and it worked fine.
  12. Another Gammy fan here.
  13. Thanks for the tips guys
  14. I've only tried minnows under a bobber a couple of times. Usually if I'm bobber fishing, I'm just using nightcrawlers to try to catch bluegill. I'm definitely planning to give minnows a few more tries this year. I'll keep at it, I probably just need to find the right spots.
  15. I love crappie. But I must be doing something wrong. I thought about starting a topic here about it. I can catch bass, bluegill, catfish.... But I suck at crappie fishing for some reason.
  16. I recommend taking a few minutes to check out these articles: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/rod-actions-power.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/equipment.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/buying_fishing_rod.html
  17. I'm usually pretty silent as I'm concentrating on getting the fish reeled in.
  18. What type of reels would you guys use on the baitcasters in this scenario? 7.1:1 on #1 and 5.4:1 on #2?
  19. Everyone has given you good advice. And I encourage you to watch videos, read articles and read the forums too. But with kids that age, I would always recommend having live worms and bobbers with you. That's probably the best bet to make sure the kids have some action and at least catch some blue gill. There's no reason not to also try out some more advanced bass fishing techniques while you're out there though. Most importantly, be safe and have a fun trip.
  20. What else have you tried besides the T-rigged plastics? Jerkbaits? Square bills? Spinnerbaits?
  21. It would help us narrow it down if you told us what kind of stuff you already have and use. I'll take a shot in the dark and suggest square bill crank baits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs And welcome to BR
