  1. Yea that was the good old days. It's pretty crappy now. I think it's a combo of the lack of writing and the stupid actors. I'm not a big Andy Sandberg fan myself. Actually out of the cast that is current Bill Hader or Keenan Thompson are my favorites. Bill Hader doing John Malkovich or the alien sports caster was hilarious. And I like Keenan's prison guy who does the kid pep talks. Originally it was a skit with Tracy Morgan. Just think of how many hilarious movies would be floating around now if Farley didn't croak. His name is irrelevant to today's youth. My brothers ex, step kid had no idea who he was.
  2. Regarding storage, Plano has those new Hydro boxes for ventilation. Is anyone using these for their cranks? The holes seemed a little on the large size and man that would be a pain if the hooks would slip through. Concept is great but I need someone who's used them to confirm. If not, then the plain old boxes and some air dry time will be the continued method.
  3. Steven Tyler has a huge mouth and he's human, like us.
  4. Strike King Coffee tubes are what you're referring. I too have lots of plastics caked in salt, however according to the article I linked and from what I've read before the salt added to plastic is for weight, and the external salt is to mask smell but not as an attractant. I really have no idea to be honest...all I know is I catch fish on caked salted plastics and non. In the end...all I care is if they work
  5. I don't believe salt's primary use is for scent. I believe that salt is impregnated in plastics so they sink otherwise without most will float. Someone who is more in tune to lure making should be able to correct me if I'm wrong. I thought that salt is added to the melting plastic prior to pouring it. http://www.jethrobaits.com/Salt.html This was an interesting quick find. I don't know how full proof the info is but worth reading I suppose. I've never really looked into the salt content of soft plastics.
  6. Fast tip. With the nature of flipping and pitching, the jarring hook sets and heavy line used, you're bound to snap a tip at some point. I suppose it would depend on how thick of cover you flip but still, Fast action is perfect in my eyes. I only use an XF on a spinning rod for light finesse/senko fishing. Other than that, I do not use XF.
  7. Gotcha. It wasn't clear what you meant by that comment so that is why I asked. Thanks for clarifying, I see your point.
  8. I'm with you there. Every now and then they have a few good skits, but man the writing on SNL has completely went down the drain. I got hooked on MAD tv for a while but that ended up getting canceled a few years back. My latest "haha" tv is Impractical Jokers on TruTv. That show is hilarious.

Looking for wader recommendations. If possible maybe some links to retail stores so I can compare prices. I'm not looking to break the bank as it would only a here and there fishing deal for me. Most of my time is in a boat. I'm thinking about maybe getting a pair over the holiday season this year for next fishing season. I don't know a thing about quality waders or what material is best and why. Just looking for some input from those with experience. Thanks in advance.
  10. Nice catch. That's a beauty! Great looking bait too, think I might have to get one.
  11. Why would that be a negative factor towards him being voted in?
  12. That's a relief. I'm not the only person that thinks the Sasquatch legacy is a stupid joke. Right along with Loch Ness.
  13. No, my squatch call sucks. I need to hook up with the guys from Animal Planet.
  14. Ease up on the power of your twitches in your cadence. It doesn't take a lot to get that spook moving. I used to have that same problem. Once you find a groove you should be fine. Just don't over do it. I fish mine without a leader on braid. If you still struggle try on a 15# mono.
  15. 13 or 14 inches based off the lure.
  16. Looks like a great day. Congrats
  17. I'm with Bluebasser. They're bass, not great whites.
  18. Never. Tie line straight to lure.
  19. Fish straight braid or straight fluoro and you won't have to worry about it. I catch lots of fish without using a leader. 1 less obstacle to avoid when trying to land a fish. Your leader breaking could be the new personal best, state record, world record swimming away. I'm not saying that if tied properly, it works just fine because I know it does.....but there is always that chance. My .02 , there are only a few very SLOW methodical presentations where I would consider a leader for bass fishing and even at that, I still prefer fishing straight line. Strictly my opinion, here comes the firing squad.
  20. If you have a Bass Pro Shops close to home, wait until the Spring Fever sale where you can trade a reel in for a discount on the purchase of a new one. I like shimano reels, but I also have a few Quantums that I really like too. I have one Abu C4000 for Musky fishing. I like ALL my reels but most of my confidence is in my Shimano reels. You will be happy with a Curado, that I assure you. So save some bucks and take advantage of the reel deal at Bass Pro next spring. You can take in ANY working reel to get the discount. Whether it was a $5 reel from Walmart or an antique from grandpa's shed. If it functions, they take it.
  21. Some people fish for fun, some fish to harvest. If it's legal, then there is nothing wrong with it. Out of personal preference, I would rather eat the rubber sole off my shoe than waste my time cleaning and eating a LMB. It just doesn't taste good to me. I'd prefer to eat some Eyes, perch, catfish, salmon, or crappie. That being said, there are better options for table fare than bass (IMO) so there is no need to kill them just for a meal. You can fish 99% of the same waters LMB live in and catch one of the others I mentioned so that's my preference. I rarely ever keep fish for food. I fish for sport and enjoyment. I have ran into the same type of people that always ask me, "Did you eat them?" These people tend to be on the very outside of understanding recreational fishing like most of us do. They don't have the same knowledge and appreciation for the fish and what it takes to keep our waters in good management for the sport. Some people only know to keep what they catch because it was taught to them differently growing up or they assume that every anglers purpose is to harvest. Those that hoard and take more than they need know they're wrong. They are hoarders and it is an addiction. Until they get penalized, they will continue to do so.
  22. This + SK Red Eye = Deadly fall. They will crush it.
  23. Looks like a Corn Spider to me. Common around here. How it ended up on your jig while fishing is a mystery.
