  1. I have a 200E5 and it runs nice and quiet. I have no experience with the 50 series but I would like to think you got 2 duds. Did you clean and lube them? Maybe they had some grit in them. That's a shame to hear though. I'll be interested to see what the other 50E users say.
  2. Tourist attraction. If they are real, we (humans) would have found remains at some point. If we can dig up 65 million year old dinosaur bones, we can find a Bigfoot. We can find new species of marine life in the depths of the ocean but not find a 10 foot ape in forestry a fraction of the size? Until I see it with my own eyes, it's forever a gimmick.
  3. Lipless crank
  4. Got skunked today for the first time in a long time. Had a fish on early but lost him. Watched another smallie follow my crank to the shore and then bolt. After that nothing. Super windy. Made it a tough day. Oh well.
  5. Way to go man! I'm going to try and sneak out for a bit tomorrow to hit the river for smallie action. I got a bunch of crankbaits and jerkbaits I want to throw out there. I haven't been fishing in a while due to the kids so I'm eager to get out. Hoping the weather moves out before I go. But I'll be throwing the rain gear in my car regardless. You can fish in the rain all day as long as you stay dry.
  6. Me too. Been listening in on the War Room too when I can.
  7. It must be really tough down there if there was only 1 limit caught by the best of the best. I have never fished Shelbyville but have heard lots of great things about it.
  8. I love the craw colors and the more natural selections. I'm not big on throwing super bright fluorescent colors. Only on certain occasions, so most of my SK Red Eyes and cranks are pretty natural. The squarebills are money too. I have a hard time deciding on whether I want to throw those or the Red Eyes. Red Eyes probably produce most fish for me though.
  9. I saw this via Facebook on Plano's site yesterday. Man what a tank! I have never been tuna fishing but would love to give it a try once.
  10. Congrats. Enjoy it. I have the 200E5 and it's a great reel.
  11. I said minimum. That's just to go in nose bleed seats and parking for the most part. If you really want to do it up, you can spend $500+ easy. It's sad because it's not a family event anymore unless you're on the very wealthy side. I want my kids to be able to experience stuff like that but it makes it pretty difficult when the costs are so high.
  12. X2 on this. Flukes I feel are best when fished weightless. my .02
  13. What if you order online and have it sent to work or a friends house? Or does she do your book keeping too? I'm a St. Croix guy, so my choice is at that. I have 3 Mojo's that I love. I'll be glad to discuss Croix rods with you privately as I don't care to voice my opinion on rods and reels much anymore here. I'm tried of the flame fest as well. The way I see it, fish what you like...not because Jon Doe from Bassresource claims is the best of the best and everything else is inferior.
  14. Speed have you had a pike or ski ****** one of those pretty swimbaits yet? Man, that would ruin my day in a heartbeat. It's one thing if you're targeting toothy critters and lose a bait, but fishing for bass and getting robbed by esox is frustrating at times. I fish a lot of pike infested waters so I rarely throw top dollar lures while bass fishing.
  15. Holding your phone horizontal is the method most phones require for accurate pictures and video. Nice fish!
  16. I hear ya. I have 4 month old twin boys. My fishing time this year has been close to non-existent. I was expecting that though coming into this year so it's all good. Plenty of years to come.
  17. I was just curious as to what a beer costs in the stadiums of your city. Here in the Windy City between the United Center, Comiskey (Us Cell), Soldier Field, and that landfill (Wrigley)..I think the average beer is around $8.25 at the games here in Chicago. Absolutely ridiculous. I was thinking about this because a talk radio show was discussing the NHL lock out, the price of tickets, and everything that goes with it. I have a hard time envisioning myself taking my twin boys to any sports games strictly for the money it costs to go. Tickets, Parking, Food, and anything else added to that you're at least $100 minimum to see a lousy game. I really think I'm going to take them to local Triple A games or independent baseball leagues. At some point i'll break down and get us all to a Bears game but that would be a special treat.
  18. That's Zona with a beauty! You should gill them and support their belly just like shown. Love catching skis!
  19. I have the new 200E5 Chronarch and it was worth every penny to me. I use it for my cranking rod and the combination is killer. It's all I ever want to throw. I don't get into the nitty gritty details of reels like some but I have yet to have any reel of mine lock up, fall apart, drag breaking, or whatever else. I own Shimanos, Quantums, and an Abu. All work perfectly.
  20. That's a tank goose! Nice catch. As for the rod discussion, it seems this crap will never end or get old so why does anyone even bother anymore posting about it? Congrats to another soon to be locked out thread about rod discussion.

Thanks for the input so far.
  22. Reviews on TW seem to say it fills up with water too easily. $16 a crack is a lot that's why I was asking for reviews, but something like this would be perfect for where I fish. The bill is going to catch a snag here or there but that is to be expected.
  23. Anyone tried out Molix Supernato? I'm kind of intrigued to get one. The idea of an "almost" weedless crankbait for my lake really excites me. I say almost because it does have a square bill and you're bound to pick up something here or there. I would love to hear any pros and cons if anyone has gotten their hands on these yet.
