  1. Fished yesterday our best five probably weighed 11-12 pounds our biggest fish was around 4# it was tough fishing we only had about 8-10 bites we fished from 7:00-1:30.
  2. Falcon rods
  3. These are my 3 biggest from the past year two around 8.5 and one a little over 9. Attached Thumbnail
  4. I use these and love them I got 2 pair they will slice mono.braid, and flouro no problem.
  5. Very nice frog fishing is alot fun.
  6. The problem with the stock 1.5 hooks is that they are weak and will straigten out easily they are plenty sharp just weak.
  7. I usually fill the spool about half way with mono.
  8. I went straight from a zebco 33 to a baitcaster my dad refused to own a spinning reel and there was no way he was going to let me use one. To this day I only use a spinning reel when pan fishing.
  9. I use it on everything. You do have to adapt to using braid with certain techniques like using a fast rod instead of x-fast or running a really light drag on baits with treble hooks.
  10. I know there is a video out there of a guy catching like a 6-7lber out of a hole in the ice.
  11. I do in a tournement with anything up to 4# or so but when fun fishing I will reach down and lip them. If your going to flip them in the boat you have to make sure you keep you rod as horizontal as possible. I've never broke a rod while flipping them in the boat most of my rods are MH or heavier. I also wont do it if Im using a bait with treble hooks.
  12. In all my years of fishing rods with 75yards of braid I have never had a fish pull line out where I could see the knot where the braid and mono meet. Im not talking about just bass fishing Im talking about inshore fishing whre fish will run alot further then any bass.
  13. I fish them all the way down to the low 60's high 50's its rare that the water around here gets much colder then that. I've consistently caught them in that cold of water.
  14. The problem you encounter alot with running straight braid is it will slip on the spool.
  15. For me its either a soft plastic swimbait or a topwater popper.
  16. When I kayak fished its all I ever use I really liked using shorter rods around 6' with a pistol grip it makes side arm and akward casting angles easier. A 6' rod is also alot easier to handle in a kayak.
  17. I think the are called beaver type baits because they have a tail like a beaver. They immitate a small blue gill atleast thats what I have always thought thats also why I choose to use black and blue.
  18. The problem I had when using a slower reel for flippin/pitching is when I would pull the bait out of the hole it would want to swing in towards the boat and I could keep up with a 6.3 ratio and the weight would sometimes hit the boat. With a 7:1 reel I can reel up the slack fast enough when the bait swings towards the boat to keep from hitting the gunnel.
  19. 2 bass is the most I've caught on a lure and it was a square bill. My best is when I caught 3 jack crevelle on one jerkbait there was one fish on each treble hook.
  20. From what I read he hit something and lost control. There has been alot of tore up lower units so far this tournement hes not the only who has hit something. Just the only one to end up in the trees.
  21. I've never had 50# power pro snap I would guess that it was a snakehead that inhaled your frog and his teeth cut the line.
  22. My dad has the costa c-mates with the bifocals in amber and loves them. He had the same problem as you are having not being able to see the gps screen. I wear the 580g amber/green mirror and I was suprised how close they are in clairity. I would have no problem using them all day. They are definitly the best bifocals he has had yet. He bought his just for fishing but ordered another pair for work he liked them so much.
  23. 30 mph is about my limit it just gets to tough to cast past that. Having a powerpole on those 20-30mph days is a big help.
  24. A 7:1 reel helps when bringing the bait back to the boat in a hurry.
  25. You also have weekendbassers http://yazman08.homestead.com/weekendbasserhome.html and the budget bass tour http://www.budgetbasstour.com/
