Flipping/punching Thick Vegetation-How To?
Just pretty much yo-yo the bait up and down. I usually pause the bait on the way out and shake it for a couple of seconds when the bait reaches the bottom of the mat. After a cold front the fish seem to target prey thats actually in the mat.

Scum Frog Or Spro Frog?
I've tried both and like the spro popping frog the best. The trick to getting better hook ups with one is bending the hooks up and out a little after I do this I hardly ever miss a fish with one.

Mono?
I spool a reel twice with a 150 yrd spool and I get 2-3 years out each spool. So one 150 yrd spool last 4-6 years and only cost $15.00. Its even a little cheaper when you buy in bulk. Im not sure how often you change your big game but when big game was all I used for about 10 years I was replacing it every 3-4 months.

Power-Poles
Best thing invented for a bass boat since a trolling motor. Here in FL where I fish the are more usefull then SI or DI depth finders.

What Size And Type Line
When frog fishing the hardest part is getting the hook in the fish because the frog hooks are the top of the frog so alot of times you hook a bass in the roof of the mouth where its really hard. Braid has zero stretch so when you set the hook you can really drive the hooks home.

Which Line For Baitcaster
Berkely big game 12# mono its cheap and when you get a severe backlash it wont cost you alot to re spool you reel. Braid is a little easier to pick back lashes out of but it can expensive if you have to re spool you real a couple times. If you do go with braid go with atleast 40# some guys can get away with 30#.

Bucket Fishermen
Here in FL they are thinking about increasing the daily bag limits on bass. To many small fish will cause more harm then good. There is balance between predetory fish and prey. To many predetors and not enough prey will stunt bass growth.

What Size And Type Line
50# braid.

Mono?
I have found braid is cheaper then mono in the long run. The biggest complaint I have with mono is line stretch if it had no stretch I would still use it.

A scale or a culling beam to cull fish is handy and a decent weigh in bag. Those are the two items I remember having to go out and buy after my first tournement.

Reel Suggestion For New Rod
+1 I also have both and would choose the lews. I like to use 6.4 for a reel that needs to be versatile it will work for both jigs and square bills. Gear ratio is something that is kind of subjective.
