  1. Picked up some 1/2oz scrounger heads tonight, along with a couple packs of subwoofers to stick on them. What's the best bait to put on these suckers? I'm ready to see what all the hype is about with these things.
  2. Abu dropped the ball on these. No doubt. My replacements are flawless though so the 2nd time is the charm it seems.
  3. It's newer than the one I took back, and newer than some that BPS had on the racks. The one I took back, along with 4 BPS had all only had the very bottom guide triple footed, and the rest all the way to the top were single. I've personally never seen this version, as the other I have isn't like this either. If it's not new, either way there are 2 versions of the Veritas micro series out there.
  4. Went into BPS tonight to exchanged mine that was chipping, and discovered that Abu has revised the Veritas micro guide series a little. The newer version has the first 3 guides from the bottom now triple footed. Seeing as those were 3 most troublesome guides on these rods it's nice to see Abu improved them.
  5. Got another Veritas, but this one seems to be a revised version. This one has 3 Triple footed guides where all of my others only had the first guide triple footed. It looks good but of course I get it home and notice the tip guide is between 12 And 1 O'clock lol. Probably heat it up and fix it Myself. What a POS these are lol. Here's a pic of the new guides, or what I think are new guides. There is definitely 2 versions of the Veritas micro series out there.
  6. I'm betting that would be the case with most pros nowadays. I'd love to see a tourney with old time fish finders only, or gasp....no electronics at all.
  7. I could see this happening IF I beat up my rods, but I baby my gear and keep them in rod sleeves and in my house. There's pretty much no reason why this has happened. It's not around the hook keeper either, which is where you would think the first sign of trouble would be. It's on the side of the rod where it says "Veritas" so it's fairly high up on the rod. We are going to dinner here in a few, so I'm gonna take it along and see what BPS does. Keep you posted. Here is a pic of the spot. Notice directly above the peeling area, you can see little nicks where peeling will soon occur.
  8. I returned mine and got another, but I've yet to fish with it so far. Just messing around the yard though, the issue hasn't come up once and I hope it doesn't. If it pops up again, it goes back and I go Lew's.
  9. Some are questioning on whether or not the A rig has destroyed the need for versatility, especially after the 2 tourneys we had here on Douglas Lake a few weeks ago. And regarding Horton, I agree that he has really been struggling. The first day of the PAA tourney here, he had a nice bag to put him in first, and then the second day I'm not even sure he broke 10lbs and didn't make the cut for the 3rd day. I'd put Brent Ehrler and KVD at the top of my list for versatility, and Horton wouldn't even be on it.
  10. Gonna go today when BPS opens and see what they do. I might get a Duckett Micro Magic if they will give me a store credit, or if I get a refund I will go with an ***. I'm tired of these POS rods. The fish great, but there's just no excuse for the QC issues Abu has with this rod. Someone on here posted a pic of their Veritas they got directly from Abu as a replacement, and the guides were laughably misaligned. It's a great rod when you can get one that's not messed up, but when is that??
  11. 7'1 MH *** BLACK paired with a Gen 3 Revo STX 7' MH Veritas paired with a Gen 3 Revo S 7' MH Vendetta 2 paired with a Gen 3 Revo SX 7' MH Okuma Tarvos paired with an Okuma Trio 30s spinning reel.
  12. V1 or V2 they are both good rods for the money. I have both, and like I've said, the V2 is a little less tip heavy and more true to it's power rating, but that's it. The 7" M V1 would make an awesome worm rod. Especially at that price. And LMBO at how many people scooped up this deal. I figured most would blow it off when I posted lol.
  13. For $129 you CANNOT beat the new Revo S. Awesome reel and it casts a mile. Can't say enough about it. Most bang for the buck out there, I don't care what anyone says.
  14. The guide issue is what has plagued me the most, but now I've got 2 rods with laser straight guides and now the d**n clear coat is chipping off. The Veritas is the nicest piece of junk rod I've ever owned. If BPS will refund it, I'm gonna nab another ***. No clear coat to peel off on those.
  15. I don't know what the deal is. Like I said, I keep them in rod sleeves, and in the house and I don't beat them up in the boat. If anything, I baby the crap outta my gear. I usually give them a good wipe down with some KVD LnL when I respray the guides, but I doubt that stuff is eating the coating off.
  16. The RES in citrus shad is obviously a crappie magnet, as the past 2 days that's all I've caught on that color. Got so tired of catching them, I had to switch to sexy shad.
  17. Both my MH and my M Veritas have spots where the clear coat is peeling off. They haven't been beaten or banged around, and I keep rod sleeves on them. Just seems like I can't win with these d**n rods. BPS won't take care of my MH, but my M they say I will have to bring in the store to determine what they will do. At this point, I'd prefer a refund but if I HAVE to get another then I will at least be glad BPS tried to help me out. Gonna contact Abu CS and see what they will do with my MH. It's not a huge deal, but I know it's gonna continue to flake off and for $100 that just flat out shouldn't happen.
  18. I need a monthly fix, which is why I haven't subbed to BAM.
  19. I actually use a palomar knot when spooling new line on my reel. I pull the line so the knot is actually in the hole on the spool so it doesn't stick up. Works great, as I've never had any issue with line lay or anything.
  20. Well, I wouldn't say it's a fluke that this happened, since I own a new SX, S, and STX and have had issues out of all 3 in a very short period of time. I can say that after exchanging them, they are flawless. I don't think the quality is in the 3rd gen reels like there was in the gen 2s, as I never had any mechanical issues from any of those. Frustration aside, I love my Revos.
  21. Same here, The way some guys set the hook, pros included, is absolutely ridiculous. Love it when they pull the fish out of the water on the hook set. I just shake my head and laugh.
  22. You certainly selected some good colors. 3 of my favorites, especially chili craw.
  23. Click on the DVT logo to your right.
  24. You thought a Vendetta was gonna be better than a Carbonlite? Lol. The Vendetta is a nice rod, but it's not that nice. The Vendetta 2 is nice but I still would go with a Carbonlite probably, though my new SX sits on a V2.
  25. I'm a righty but uae all left hand reels. I like to keep the rod in my dominant hand.
