  1. I don't think i have even received the bass pro spring sale flyer and online they are saying it is coming soon....hmmmmm I may try and make it this year but the weather is looking kind of nice so i may go fishing instead
  2. I am watching it as we speak. I enjoy seeing what al the car prices are and it always surprises me how little some bring and how much others bring.
  3. I don't go there unless i need something now and they have it in stock. I also have a BPS rewards card that I use for daycare expenses that gets paid off each month so I get to spend my rewards there as well. They also have some good deals in their spring sale where i load up on things like terminal tackle. It is nice to put your hands on things that you normally only see online.
  4. I tried the box thing and being in a kayak it took up too much space. So now i have a large plano box and put all the bags in there. Saves me space but it also probably has me take more than I should lol
  5. Thanks for the reminder. Just ordered some spinnerbaits, fogy bubble blades and jigs as I sit and watch the snow fall here in central VA @Siebert Outdoors
  6. This is very true. I also look at it this way, even if i am not fishing for trout, those trout dollars are being spent to help the resource improve for all species. The trout specific areas also tend to get more monies from other places as well.
  7. makes you wonder how he cleared waivers since the pats have the last shot at him.
  8. Call the DGIF for PA and ask. Here in VA even if you aren't fishing for trout and you are in a trout regulated water, you need a trout stamp.
  9. Eagles defense is no joke...they play a lot better at home too only letting up like 12 points a game. Atlanta wasn't ready for it and i would venture a guess they looked past us a little bit and now they have an entire offseason to think about it...
  10. We match up well against the Falcons. I agree that Foles is a backup for a reason but he has the ability to not make us lose a game as well. It is going to come down to smart coaching and defense. We have a very good running game that can hit you in multiple ways. Cox is going to have to create havoc in the middle and collapse the pocket like he has all season.
  11. We appreciate you still pulling for us The Eagles defense is going to be the key as is the running game. I truly think that they toned down the offense and played it very vanilla the last two weeks to not give any tape on Foles or the schemes they want to run come playoff time.People are focusing on the last two games but also forget that Foles threw 4 TDs against a division rival to secure a first round bye. I think we get past the Falcons but the game against either Minnesota or the Saints is gonna be tough. Minnesota is a very well rounded team and their defense is straight up nasty
  12. I am guessing you could find the same diameter fiberglass pole and use it in his system too with maybe just adding the stainless steel tip to it. What is the diameter of those poles anyways, 3/4"?
  13. All sonar, except 360 imaging, be it down or to the side is meaning less if sitting still. Remember each scan is a pulse that is then pieced together to give us the picture we see on the screen.
  14. Whoever told you that was dead wrong. Side imaging is awesome in a kayak and can help you to eliminate non productive water without having to paddle over it. It saves a lot of time for me. I have a humminbird unit and as long as I match my chart speed to my paddle speed, it works great. I also upgraded to the HD transducer and that made a large difference as well. I won't buy another unit without it....oh and if you do get a side imaging unit, get the largest screen you can afford. I have a 5" and wish i went with a 7 or even 9 personally unless you do a lot of shallow fishing i would skip the power pole micro $$$ and use a stakeout pole and use that money for upgraded electronics or travel money for the tourneys.
  15. NFC is pretty good top to bottom. I do agree about the AFC but that Jax defense is nothing to laugh at either. I also have a feeling NE loses in the AFC championship game. Titans are also playing with house money so who knows what will happen there
  16. I am glad the media is counting out Philly. They haven't had anything to play for since the Giants game (which Foles played very well in might i add) and the offense was very very basic the last two games. I truly think Pedersen didn't want to give teams any film on Foles or keys to the offense. If the defense continues to play like they have been and they commit to the run they should be able to take care of Atlanta. One side note is Matt Ryan grew up not far from Philly and I am sure he will be distracted somewhat by all the family nearby. Gonna be a good one.
  17. I've always wanted to get out there and try that so if you don't mind another kayaker for some company, let me know and i will try and meet you out there.
  18. Here is one i took today after they came in from playing outside in the cold and snow...the rottie doesn't like the cold but the other guy, the 13+ year old, does and i have to get him to come inside even when he is shivering out there. What you can't see in the picture is that there is a gas fireplace going just outside of the picture lol
  19. Personally, I'd wait until there is a demo days and paddle the boats you are looking at buying. You will save yourself some headache in the long run. Also consider how you are transporting the boat as well. Cartopping a 14' boat takes a little more technique and skill and strength than a 12', especially if the boat is over half your body weight.
  20. Speed and capacity is the primary gain for a longer kayak. I have an ATAK 140 and can easily paddle at 4mph and it tracks better than the 12' version of the same boat. You also generally lose maneuverability in a longer boat. I fish some smaller rivers and i miss my sub 12' boat for those conditions.
  21. I don't take the kayak out as often in the super cold weather but i do go out and fish for trout in either the spring creeks or small mountain streams. Somehting peaceful and serene about fishing a mountain stream when it is snowing. Only thing that sucks now is I am over an hour drive to trout water where before i was about 15 minutes. Makes a big difference in snowy weather.
  22. We have another dog too who is at least 13, got him as a rescue. Back in his hey day he would climb over our 5' chain link fence. We even ran one of those electric dog fences around the top of the fence and he still went right through it. Luckily he is too old now to jump the fence but it doesn't stop him from running the fence line and barking at everything.
  23. between maryland and PA on the coast, not sure on the other states. I live in Central VA and this cold snap has frozen over a bunch of the lakes i fish and we are supposed to not be above freezing for about a week. I'd keep going further south lol
  24. Nah, He is to big and not the most agile dog. He is more brute strength and force lol Now I do worry that he will break that gate though with him jumping on it.
  25. I enjoy fly fishing for all species. When smallmouth fishing in the local rivers i use the fly rod probably 90% of the time. If i am fishing for the green bass i am probably 50/50 unless I am going after bedding fish. Seems like a ell placed fly gets hit way more frequently than a conventional bait. Also i love night fishing with the long rod in lilly pad fields....nothing better.
