  1. It really is amazing when you watch any pro sports game in person. The talent level and speed of the game is ridiculous. I have been to a bunch of NFL games and the one time i sat in the end zone and basically had the QB perspective. It was only then did i realize just how fast things happen. It was awesome!!! this post is making me want to go see the sixers play up in MSG on Christmas day....
  2. i can't believe carrot top didn't slide over protection or do something to try and limit the abuse. I mean dude had what 3 sacks in the first quarter.
  3. I actually went to a game in boston while i was up there, wasn't the sixers unfortunately, and asked for an obstructed view seat just so i could say I did lol I didn't really care about the teams other than hating boston. It was more about going to the garden.
  4. Today proved that Dak is more of a game manager than anything and he flat out can't perform without a stellar offensive line and running game. If they don't get the LT position squared away by next week, Dak may not be playing the next week.
  5. I have been to about 5 or 6 modern basketball arenas and other than right behind the basket, there usually isn't a bad seat in the house. My preference is always center court or close to it but about 20 or so rows up. My next preference is 2nd level and about 5 rows up in the center areas or off to one side. Up a level the more corner type seats are still pretty good and you can see all the action. As far as tickets go, just search everywhere and look at the fees too because with fees a lot of good priced seats really aren't. Also don't forget to look at the pacers site itself because a lot of times they will still have single game seats available for a decent price. Don't forget to factor in parking cost as well.
  6. you aren't lucking into a population of fish for 3 days when there are the top anglers in the world trying to luck into those same fish.
  7. Here in central VA i usually have a walking topwater/popper of some type, swim jig, soft bodied swim bait, chatterbait and square bill on when i hit the water. To be honest though, fall has always been a tough time for me in the kayak. Seems like all the fish busting baitfish are too far away and the bait i am marking on my fish finder don't seem to have anything feeding on them. Oh well, i'll keep trying.
  8. One thing not mentioned about a canoe is the lack of self bailing capability and maneuverability combined with stability. I haven't seen a canoe that can do both well but I have seen plenty of kayaks that fit that bill. I do agree that if you are car camping out of a boat then a canoe would make it easier but I have done many 4+ day trips in a 12' kayak with no issues. Now the caveat there is i treat my kayak fishing trips as backpacking trips and have the gear to do it easily. Less weight to paddle too. I have seen those tow behind kayaks and I am sorry, but i think that is ridiculous. For the price of one of those you could invest in some high end lightweight and small camping gear and not even need the "trailer"
  9. To me it is like would you rather win MVP or the Super Bowl. I am taking the Super Bowl and the classic title myself.
  10. Eagles are destroying the vaunted Denver defense. As skeptical as i am, Wentz is the real deal.
  11. I have a few rods with micro guides and haven't had this issue. My crank bait rod is a kilter helium with micros and no issues. The only thing i can think of is maybe when retrieving you are getting some slack on the spool some how which is causing the problems.
  12. They wouldn't have wentz. As much as i liked McCoy, I'll take a hopeful decade plus of Wentz over 4 years of McCoy.
  13. There are a lot of great kayaks out there so you are getting into the sport at a fantastic time. Let's take a look at the two styles of kayaks first, Sit inside (SINK) or Sit on top (SOT). The majority of anglers prefer the SOT for the reasons you mentioned. They are easier to modify and move around. They also have self bailing capability which is a nice feature to have. Next up is the modification piece. There are a ton of modification options out there from the factory or after market. Gear tracks make things very easy to move things around where you like them. One thing I will say is don't go drilling and modifying your kayak until you have fished it a few times first. My recent kayak purchase last season was my 7 or 8th kayak and I still didn't mount anything until i had about 8 trips out in the boat. I would also recommend that if you are going to mount a fish finder to look for a boat with an electronics pod of some sort as it makes things much easier and cleaner. And seat comfort is huge when you are out all day long. Next is the age old question of paddles versus pedals. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. In a nutshell paddle kayaks can go shallower, cost less and are generally easier to paddle than pedal boats. Pedal boats give the advantage of using larger muscle groups so you can maintain a speed more easily for a longer period of time. They can't go as shallow, are a lot heavier but do allow for hands free fishing. Some also have easily utilized reverse capabilities which can be beneficial in certain situations. Pedal drive boats also are more difficult to manage in grass choked areas. A third option that you didn't mention is adding a motor to your kayak. Lots of people do that as well. Oh and one more thing, try and demo as many boats as you can because what looks good on paper or what your buddy says may not fit your fishing style or body type. For me, I have gone with a paddle boat but wouldn't mind having a torqueedo added to my boat or a pedal boat for a few of the lakes i fish that involve some longer paddles. I have a wilderness ATAK 140 and it is my favorite kayak that i have owned. It has the electronics pod, is super stable and has a comfortable seat. It also allows for a lot of mounting options for modifications. I kept my boat simple though with 6 flush mounts behind me. There are quite a few kayak fishermen on this board so feel free to post up any more questions or do a search and you might find the answer you are looking for.
  14. I rarely eat unless it is a 12 hour plus day and then I will usually just eat a protein bar. Sometimes i will take a hoagie with me though if i decide to pack a cooler for some reason. I usually don't want to stop and eat and since i am a kayak fisherman, it isn't like i can eat while moving from spot to spot.
  15. well we got Peters from them so why not
  16. Again I am cautious in my optimism but Wentz looks to be the real deal. The connection he has made with Ertz and Alshon opening up the field and pushing Agholor to the slot has made a big improvement to the offensive efficiency. Losing Peters hurts and I wonder if they will move Johnson to the LT spot from his RT spot now. The defense continues to play well and come up big when needed. Losing Hicks, again, isn't a good thing and will ,make the tendency for TE to eat us alive even more prominent. Trap game coming up next week too with the winless 49ers.
  17. Also keep your eyes open for used boats. It seems this is the time of year for people selling off for the winter or selling off to get ready for the new boats to be debuted.
  18. Tarpon 100 and also a jackson cruise for a little more would be another option in that range. You also have to consider a PFD and paddle as well as transporting it to the water. I would also say that if you can store a 12' yak you will be happier if you are using it on flat water.
  19. unfortunately so does Kaep
  20. Being the Eagles fan that I am, I am always going to be cautiously optimistic on my team nd their success. I truly thought they were going to take an L going into carolina on a short week and facing a hot team. I am glad they proved me wrong and played very well despite the refs who were ridiculous biased (if you think i am being sour just search for pete morelli stats and see what he has done in the past when he reffed eagles games). Wentz is continuing to impress me with his decision making and mobility but he needs to get through his reads faster for sure. Our defense is playing very well though and i hope it continues. Tough three game stretch before the bye week too but we will see what happens. Still a lot of football to be played and anything can happen...
  21. I think i have caught maybe 2 fish on a lipless crank....to be fair i haven't thrown them constantly in a long long time but i keep saying i should try them out again
  22. Also drive through the neighborhood at weird hours and times and days. All of the houses we were serious about, I checked out he neighborhood to see if there were kids playing, loud neighbors etc...didn't find anything but i figured it was worth a few dollars in gas
  23. no boat i have seen is more than probably 2' at the most and that is with a raised seat. If i wasn't too lazy i'd go out and measure my ATAK for you lol
  24. I don't use one but i have seen people pull them pretty tight to the ceiling. You'll just have to make sure that any rigging isn't going to interfere with the garage door opening/closing mechanism
  25. That seems very difficult to do given the technological age we live in and the digital resources that are out there. So after reading through the posts are you doing an actual experiment or are you merely doing research and compiling that information into a presentation?
