the pictures tell the story to me....no 4 year old deserves that, period. You don't break the skin on accident......and apparently it was because he pushed his brother. I never understood how you can teach a kid not to hit by hitting them....makes no sense to me.

i'll be honest, when i changed out the hooks on my x-raps i had to go to the rapala website after measuring the jerk baits to see their length to determine which hook sizes i needed to purchase.

your point is valid but in the case of hook size on an existing bait, it is pretty easy to find that info. it is usually on the packaging and on pretty much every website that sells the bait. Also, while there may be no "dumb" questions as the saying goes, there is a caveat to the statement that not many people know about, it says this is assuming you have exhausted your own options to find the answer

For Clunn you are talking about 40 years.....he was the guy i liked as a kid watching fishing shows early on saturday mornings. Still is my favorite angler, him and Paul Elias.

To me if someone asks what hook to replace XXX bait with i am assuming they are not asking for the size because they would have asked that too....

i used the yakima version with my coosa and my redfish and it did fine. I ended up taking it off though because on the top of your vehicle it acts like a sail and i can't imagine that type of stress being good for the racks. I have carried two kayaks on my rack before and basically i would put one yak as far to the outside of the bars as i can get then lean the other on top of that one. worked pretty well. I have also straight stacked them on top of each other for shuttling on the river too. Wouldn't do that though for highway extended driving though. Not sure what type of rack system you have, or if you have one, but it is probably cheaper to just get an extra set of bars that you can put on and off when needed.

you can always use a removable adhesive to mount it at first to make sure you have the positioning correct. that is what i did on my first kayak. You can also just tape the ends to the yak where you think they should goo and run the line and see where it falls when it is slack and when it is under tension.

only to derail a little bit, ok a lot.....For kayak anglers with limited space, you can cut out the dividers in this box and it hold soft plastic bags about perfectly and takes up less room in your crate than binders or other options.

Smallies are very opportunistic predators so it is more about getting your bait to them than it is the type of bait in my experience. Try dead sticking a 3-4" stick bait that is nose hooked through likely spots. This has been my skunk killer for years and on many different types of water, it has never failed me. When there is grass it can be tough to get through it depending on the current but i can almost guarantee that there are bass underneath it somewhere. Flukes are alway a good choice as well as are shallow running cranks and if the water is up or muddy go with big bladed spinnerbaits. Hard jerk baits have done well for me year round as well. I use a M powered rod in either XF or F with 20lb braid most times out. it helps with good solid hook sets. If all else fails, get a fly rod and throw poppers and sliders as that is my preference these days

nah i never have but i have split out early to go fishing. Like has been said earlier though, it isn't like my workload would change it just means i have less time to do the same work, well that was when i was working. been unemployed since May but it seems like i am more busy now lol Now if you asked did i ever skip classes in college to go fishing, the answer is a resounding yes and to go climbing, backpacking, hiking etc....probably why i too a year or two off after ever 2 semesters or so...got in the way of having fun

it happens. those guys are hard to hook in my experience since their mouth is so bony. I love catching them and wish i could target them more but they seem to be pretty hit or miss as far as locations go and are pretty solitary from what i have researched. I caught my biggest one ever this year on a wake bait no less....measured 25".

Well i would love to say the ride went awesome and i was able to ride it in 4 hours with no problems. Unfortunately that was not the case. Earlier in the week my son had a little stomach thing going on and i thought i was in the clear. Well, friday i felt kind of off but still was able to eat as i was carb loading for the upcoming weekend of riding. By about 9:00 friday night the stomach bug caught up with me. Without getting into any gory details, let's just say i had plenty of liquid coming out from all the water i was drinking but not through the conventional locations.....this went on through the night so i was not able to ride. Yesterday was the first day i was able to eat without fear of my gut instantly liquefying anything that was ingested....i was really bummed but at the same time the purpose was to raise money for charity and that i did to the tune of over $1300 so that is a good thing.\ I do want to thank everyone on here who did donate though even though i was not able to ride.

use a paddle lol Honestly i have no idea but i think sam's idea is where i would start...don't use constant while fishing and only use it while moving spot to spot. I would think that it would be pretty rare that you would not know when you are gonna go over while moving spot to spot, not to mention the ride 135 is next to impossible to flip.

i have had similar experiences in my kayak where people, i guess, think i am not fishing or something. I had one guy on an electric only lake close enough to me with his bass boat that i probably could have hit his boat with rod if i wanted to and he started fishing probably 30 feet from me. I asked him what was the deal as he didn't have to get that close. He said i didn't realize you were fishing. To which i responded, first of all i have three rods standing straight up behind me and a rod in my hand and second i don't care if i am fishing or not you came way to close to me with your boat. He kind of chuckled and moved on. I then saw him at the ramp when he was unloading and he was having some serious trouble backing the trailer and loading the boat so maybe he was new to the boating world. I just laughed as i loaded up and watched him struggle with everything after i asked him if he needed any help and he gave resounding NO, I can handle it....

no, still doesn't seem underhanded. It is part of of owning a business and hiring good people that unfortunately you want the best people and the best people, at times, want their own business. Did your dad ever apprentice under anyone or learn from anyone else? I highly doubt he became a custom cabinet maker by reading books. I know my dad as an electrician for his entire life had many apprentices under him who later started their own businesses and he was as supportive then as he was when they were his employees. There were others who did not want the headache of owning their own business and those guys become the top guys in his shop. s far as the co-angler thing goes, i would wonder why they split up as a team in the first place and it isn't like the boater doesn't have that same knowledge still about the same spots. his competition just got better and hopefully he can overcome and become a better angler. Does it suck, sure but it is the price of doing business.

while there are times artificials will be ab ether presentation for the most part live bait will win. it is much easier to convince a fish to bite something that is alive and that they normally see that happens to have a hook in it than something that is made to mimic the real thing or illicit a reaction strike. This is not to say fishing live bait is easy because that is not the case. Much like using artificials and catching big fish, the same applies to live bait. Sure you can toss out a minnow on a slip bobber rig and catch some big fish but to do it consistently is not easy but it does up the odds in your favor. All that being said, i'll take the ease of artificials any day but i will say that in the winter time i am not opposed to chucking out a minnow while i am working other baits painfully slow in the hopes that I can catch something

part of being a good team is taking what is handed to you and capitalizing. Good defense isn't always the fault of bad offense either but in the case of Romo it is probably 50/50 as he is known to choke and give up the ball in key spots.

I don't see that as underhanded. Everyone needs to gain experience yet not everyone has the desire or make up to be a business owner. Most no compete clauses also come with a big severance when you leave, at least in the businesses i have worked.

I don't think it is something that should just happen without some discussion on the matter with the client. The only guide i ever went out with was Bob Clouser on the Susky and he didn't fish at all except to get a fish on the line and hand me the rod to reel it in, i was about 8 or 9 at the time. When i was a guide flyfishing i never fished but one time when i had some clients from India who said they wanted to watch me fish while they took a break.

Eagles scared me today, as usual. Their defense did really well as soon as they settled down and shut them out for three quarters and once Foles realized, hey i can play this sport he did well too. Ugly win but still a win....next week ought to be a fun one with philly heading to indy on monday night.

par for the course. if it bothers you that much fish jigs with no trailer or hard baits. Other than that, you just have to deal with it.

i also think this is different because the offer is made to pay for that privilege. I guess i am not as cynical as you are in thinking that scheduling is only done based on your client ranking....i know none of the small businesses i worked for did this. And everyone knows doctors run late, it is part of their training. They also treat many patients based on need for care not whose name is on the insurance card.
