Favorite Sports Teams
Well it sort of does but this is just for the redskins name piece not the logo itself. Either way it will be overturned like it has been 3 or 4 other times in the past

Favorite Sports Teams
Wrong....it has nothing to do wit the government sticking their nose in, it has to do with a group of people having a suit against the name of redskins, not the logo, and the government then is involved as far as trademark goes. Doesn't mean the Redskins have to change their name but if upheld, which it won't as it hasn't been in the past, it means anyone can use the redskins name and make money without paying royalties... Now to the original post... Eagles Sixers Phillies Flyers for my pro teams College about the only thing i follow is basketball and that would be Villanova and Temple

Old Town Or Hobie?
I might be a little rusty on my kayak knowledge but those are completely different boats. One is pedal drive and is more of a boat while the predator is a paddle kayak. Not to mention a significant price difference. I have never heard of a pro angler tipping except in extreme off shore type situations. You will also have to consider transporting the boat as the PA is a pig and most opt for a trailer but there are also some that cartop them too. Go paddle or pedal them and see what you think is my advice Your decision would be made pretty quickly then I believe

Hook Set Killed 6 Pounder...
I have never heard of one dying that quickly. I know there are some big blood vessels in the tongue area of bass that I have heard if you stick one there they are pretty mud goners but never had what you experienced happen to me....

Are Shad Darts Anygood For Anything Other Than Shad? Bass Maybe?
you are absolutely correct. I grew up near the delaware near philly and would go to the lambertvile shad festival every year. I also read that book and it is pretty fascinating to me at least but that may be due to the geographic proximity with which i lived to the details i was reading.

Fluke Hooksets
I would also say that your MH rod may be too much and is pulling it out as well. Gettign a solid fluke hook set is something that takes a little bit of time and frustration. There are many times they are short striking or as mentioned already, sunnies are hitting them. I fish flukes on a M XF spinning rod with 8lb diameter Power Pro super slick myself. Once i figured out when and how to set the hook, my catch ratio went up by a good margin. The other thing you can do when yo hare missing fish is to switch colors. I stay in the same color smily but try something a little different to see if that makes them take it with a little more oomph.

That is correct. Here are the two species I am aware of, not sure if there are more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_shad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hickory_shad

They will catch smallies for sure. Also just so people know these are not the shad baitfish but a anadromous species of fish that I know is present on the East coast (not sure about the west but i don't believe they are there) each spring where they come up rivers to spawn.

Tv "miracle" Lures
I am not sure if the Banjo minnow triggers a genetic response so that fish have to bite......but i can say they do produce and are a pretty good bait.

Congrats To The Spurs
Congrats to the Spurs. It took Pop a year to figure out how to beat the Heat and when he did, he made sure his team did it in royal fashion. It still baffles me all the hate for the Heat when plenty of other teams did the same thing but no matter, no need to derail another thread. The spurs play a different type of basketball and it is pretty t watch for sure and the combination of the coach and the GM getting the players that the coach wants/needs is huge. Now i just hope th sixers can follow the same mold with Hinkie and Brown. Now it is just sit and wait and see what if the spurs big three retires, do bosh and Lebron stay in Miami and then the draft. Should be interesting for a little while and then football starts.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, And Ian Kinsler Apparently Hates Texas
See i don't think it is because they have been babied as much as they have been pitching since they were 8 years old and have no breaks. I heard an interview the other day with some reliver who was on the braves. they asked him about the weight room and if he ever saw maddux or glassine in the weight room he said yeah, only if they had to cut through on their way to the cafeteria. He also then said when they took off, they took off. there were no long toss days or light throwing, it was resting to get your body back to normal. Kids nowadays are playing year round in one sport and don't mix it up. I played soccer, basketball then baseball and of course all summer i was at the courts playing till the lights went off. If you are off then you shouldn't play...pretty easy stuff

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, And Ian Kinsler Apparently Hates Texas
I never understood if everyone is so worried about pitch count then why not train them to pitch more innings? Also anyone else find it interesting that the statistics show innings pitched but not pitches thrown when a guy like Halladay may throw 12 pitches in an inning as oppose to old school Jamie Moyer who lived off the foul ball would routinely throw 20 yet the "innings limit" could be reached by both with a drastically different number of pitches. It's all crap really and players need to play and I would not be upset one bit if they got rid of guaranteed contracts in baseball or any sport really like they do in football....what a novel concept you actually have to play and play well to keep your contract...

The Heat
Sorry but you can't use the biggest egomaniac of al lime in Jordan to defend that the league was stronger during the time he played. The league was great in the late 70's to the mid 80's. When Jordan, Barkley, Olajuwon all came into the league there were powerhouse teams in the sixers, celtics and lakers that were all on the downswing. Whoever won the East had to play through philly and/or Boston and then face the lakers. The bulls teams were great no doubt but they never really and a rival or another team that was at the same caliber. That is no fault of his and his desire to win is unmatched, like I already mentioned. The league was more physical in the 80's but thanks to Jordan and the "Jordan Rules" that changed in the 90's. And you could say the same thing that the 70's and 60's were way more physical than the 80's, it is the natural progression of the game. You also have to consider expansion. In 1983 there were 23 teams in the league and every team was deep and the worst team in the league won 26 games. In contrast by the mid 90's say 1993 there were 27 teams and there were 5 teams that finished with less than 27 wins and if you look at pretty much al lthe teams in the 90's you will see the same thing, many more bad teams to beat up on. They changed rules for Jordan and do you really think he left to retire because he wanted to try baseball? not a chance in hell that is the case. This is an obvious no win debate on either side so I will agree to disagree and leave it at that.

me too!!! well i am sort of psyched for the NBA draft too to see what the sixers are going to do with all their picks and new management in place.

The Heat
I am not sure how you can call someone lazy who has improved every season and landing the big contract thing is a thing of the past with max deals. Pretty much any all star gets those nowadays. He is also far from the end of his career, he is 29 and probably has another 8 years left. I would also argue that he made the players around him better more than MJ did, i mean look at the coaches he had around him and how he carried Cleveland to the finals pretty much by himself. I see dedication as improvement each year and he has done that, i mean look at his FG%, he shot an almost unheard of 57% as a SF this year which is higher than any season Jordan ever had and actually jordan's highest season FG% was 54% which lebron has already surpassed twice. This is also a different age. Players have no personal lives anymore with media like it is and even with that being the case you never hear a peep about him off the court doing anything but good things. Also, in case you aren't aware, there is a larry bird exception so that you can pay your own players more money than other teams so they don't leave via FA. Sounds pretty selfish to me. Most people are judging him based on his "decision" which i am with you, was in bad taste but the way the league is structured now he did what he thought was best to get a chip. I disagree about Popovich wanting lebron. Lebron does what he thinks it takes to win, sometimes it means taking the last shot, sometimes it means kicking it out to the open man. If that means he has no heart then so be it, I would take a guy who is threat to have a triple double every night on my team any day of the week. I know there will always be the comparisons but in all reality they are two different players each will have others compared to them in the future but if I am building a team after taking Wilt, I am taking Lebron without hesitation.

Anyone Use Twistlock Hooks With Flukes?
I tried them once and didn't like them at all. The action seemed to suffer and i wasn't catching as many fish. I also didn't like the added weight on the nose of the bait as it seems to give them a more nose down, sinking presentation which ruins the normal darting, twitching, free falling action i like. I have only used the weighted ones in current a few times and they worked well but i actually prefer to use a small bullet weight in those situations instead.

The Heat
When you call someone like lebron garbage you have no idea what you are talking about. Sure you may think he is not as good as MJ but to disregard his talent and say garbage is ridiculous. I would also bet you wouldn't be too upset if he was on your team

The Heat
Having a great draft doesn't make the league stronger. I spoke my opinion and because you don't like it you get your panties all up in a wad and make personal attacks which shows you're an ass which is also "well known". Nobody liked playing with Jordan and that is pretty much a fact, he was a crybaby and got more calls than anyone in league history. Was he a great player, no question. His drive to win at all costs was probably the highest ever with maybe Larry bird being right there too. Jordan played in a time of weak teams, no true rivalries and no team to challenge the teams he played on. To deny or not take into considersarion the impact of Phil Jackson on Jordan and the bulls teams is also ridiculous. Phil won wherever he went, can't say the same about Jordan. I have seen every superstar in my lifetime play in person and I can without a doubt say that the player that was the most amazing to see was AI...no way a guy his size should've been able to do what he did on the floor. And I would bet I know more about basketball than you do but that was never my intention to prove. The fact that you said that's what all the country is talking about shows your inability to think for yourself. I seem to remember the country talking about a lot of things that are sports related and were wrong... And what if the heat win the series? Then what, it was lucky? Lebron is a different type of player than Jordan and while there have been players like Jordan before and there will be others, there hasn't been a player like lebron when you look at his size and skills.

The Heat
Wow all the ripping on Lebron is crazy...he is the most talented player to ever step on an NBA court with maybe Wilt beating him out. Jordan was a way worse complainer and a horrible teammate, benefitted from coming into the league at a perfect time and the league was very weak, and don't even get started on his off the court stuff....and Kobe, ehh good player who is more of a head case than anyone on the heat oh and his off the court record is pretty stellar.... The spurs are a better coached team and have players that fit their system perfectly. Miami is looking tired and beat up but if there is any team that can come back from a 3-1 deficit i would say it has to be the heat. The truth is both of these teams are full of pretty classy guys.

Fishing From Sit Inside Kayak?
I have fished from other SINK and wasn't a fan really. The one i was in, can' remember the name but it was a wildy of some sort, you couldn't stand in if you wanted to fish. Storage is difficult but manageable but it does take some creativity and i think if you are a minimalist it would help. I would never fly fish out of one though as i know the line management would be a serious chore. There are advantages like you said though. A dryer ride and lighter weight and generally a faster boat as well. Personally if i am looking for a drier ride and want a SINK I would look at the hybrids. I have a commander which is a dry ride, elevated seat position, super stable to sand in and is relatively light and easy to carry around. They also have covers for the bow and stern if you are concerned with splash water getting into the boat but it also wouldn't be nearly as fast as a SOT or SINK but it isn't bad. Gear storage is pretty much whatever you want to take and wherever you want to put it too...

What To Do About A Broken St. Croix Rod?
It probably does but there are some avid series rods that are cheaper than the rage rods so who knows.....i am guessing it is more the margin on the rage is better.

Will A Black Buzzbait Work During The Day?
I don't think color matters too much on a buzz bait other than in your head. I have caught fish on black, white, chartreuse and even some that the skirts got torn off at all times during the day and night.

What To Do About A Broken St. Croix Rod?
Actually the guides are about the same cost but it probably does have more to do with their cost on the rod itself. I actually like the guides on my rage rods and have had no issues.
