  1. I love watching me some Pistol Pete. He was far ahead of his time. the old school drills help out a ton and I attribute them to my improvement in basketball as well. Another great drill to learn is the Mikan drill. Google it and don't think it is only for big men either. You will learn to use both sides of the rim and both hands to score when near the rim which is huge. I was able to pretty much shoot with the same success from about 8ft in with both hands. Makes it very tough on the defender. And for the rebounding tip you don't need to grab the shorts much just enough to throw them off and think about it next time
  2. It really depends on the time of year and what stage the bass are in as far as winter goes. I am firm believer that there will always be fish shallow year round but finding them may not be that easy. In these cases i do look for the sunny areas. My largest bass of the year last year was caught on Jan 1st with water temps in the high 30's in about 4 feet of water. It seems like areas that are deeper but close to warming areas produce for me. Just stay away from areas with dying or dead grass as the oxygen levels are lower and the bass won't be there even if it is sunny. I will also add that the sun makes a 40 degree day a much more pleasant day than 40 and cloudy
  3. Yeah there are a ton of things that i wonder why. the exception being the car seat because that is the only safety they have in an accident. I know my fiancé was all about getting crap and even after my prodding that it all wasn't needed I stopped fighting the battle and let her do her thing. The result is a bunch of stuff in our attic that still has the tags on it Oh and congrats!!
  4. Normally I chase trout in the mountain streams or spring creeks and bass too as long as the water is still soft. This year will be a little different as I will be focusing on my classes and do some road cycling to break up the boredom.
  5. Most Italians call marinara gravy. My family didn't and neither do I but I figured sine he was claiming to have the best red sauce he should have at least called it gravy
  6. Red sauce? Don't you mean gravy?

I prefer apple and cherry myself and use raw apple cider with some OJ too......I also inject my ribs, I know sounds crazy but i use apple cider vinegar, the apple cider with my dry rub dissolved in it. How do you make jalapeno jelly?
  9. DT 10 or DT 12 will work. I run 8lb diameter PP on my cranking rod and have hit bottom with the DT 10 in 11' of water before.

And you don't have to get a smoker either...i use my trusty Weber 22" grill and have smoked everything from ribs, sausage, brisket, hams to jalapeño poppers.

Going rate around here for what they call a full rack which is really about a half rack is 18-20. I can buy 3 full racks at BJ's for around 25-30 tops and smoke them at home and they are way better. I find ribs to be one of the easier cuts of meat to smoke/BBQ and it doesn't take all that long. I have a rack in the fridge right now with the dry rub i just put on waiting for the grill tomorrow
  12. I agree he fits in well and catches a lot of balls in the flat or screens but Westbrook could line up at wide receiver and you woudln't lose anything. I like Charles and watching him play for sure. He is a play hard every down type of back
  13. he can't catch passes like westbrook or pick up the blitz as well just yet but he is definitely a better north south type runner.
  14. Those jigs are total junk.....i'll PM you my address so you can send it to me for proper disposal
  15. I also prefer braid for cranking. I can use a smaller diameter than i would in flouro and have more strength and get eh baits to run closer to their stated depth.
  16. Reid wasn't the reason entirely but he played a biiiiiig part since he was in control of personnel and coaching staff. I like the guy and am rooting for the big walrus every week as long as they aren't playing the Eagles.
  17. I have braid on all of my set ups and don't even use leaders but maybe 2% of the time. There are some good knots with the popular albright knot and i have also been using the seaguar knot too.
  18. It is hard to think because of their recent play but they lead the league in points allowed at an astonishing 12.3 a game and they run the ball and can keep control of the clock. They play a playoff style of football but until they beat denver in week 11 they won't get any credit.
  19. I don't like seeing anyone injured but as long as he is out this next week against the Eagles i am happy
  20. Hmmmm....you might want to start watching a little more then because Foles hasn't thrown a pick all season and just tied the NFL record with 7 TD passes in a game and set another slew of records in the process. Jackson has 3 drops on 80 targets on the season which puts him at a 3.8% drop rate which is near tops in the league. Anyways, I don't think it matters to much but they are getting better each week and playing hard. This week is a huge test and they should be able to win this game and if they do, it could start something for them. Do i think they are a SB contender, not even close but at least they are fun to watch.
  21. Seeing something one time hardly means it is the norm and who is to say the trolling motor is what sent them in to hiding? Seems like if you are in a boat and close enough to see the fish then they can also see you so there may be more to send them scurrying for cover than just a trolling motor.
  22. I am sure a big floating object 1,000 times their size is more disconcerting than the trolling motor but I may be talking out of my butt to an extent since I use a kayak and paddle myself
  23. Yeah they declined because te qualifying offer would be 14.1M which is more than Ruiz's entre last contract I believe. Halladay I hope goes anywhere but the Yankees. I could see him as a cardinal based on his style and his attitude but in all reality who knows what he even brings to the table anymore.
  24. I am particularly interested in what the Phillies try and do with Halladay and Ruiz as both are free agents. The phillies have some decent catching prospects in the system and i would think at this point in his career Halladay wants a ring and money is not a factor at all for him.
  25. What color flukes? Some of the colors seem to be more rubbery and stay nearer to the surface than others which I am guessing is due to the density of the plastic. For me the watermelon candy, mardi gras and moccasin blue seem to be the densest while the whites, pinks and other colors seem to be the least dense. I am sure there is a reason for it but i can't figure it out other than by looking at each bag of baits.
