Need A Light Kayak :-)
Is stability a concern for tipping or for standing? Two different things in my mind.

Need A Light Kayak :-)
Yeah those requirements, especially with the $500 budget i am not sure if they can be met. The main part is the carrying a half mile, which is a long way and i would say get a cart or make one as there are plenty of DIY ones out there that seem to do the job. Or if you are like me and it isn't pavement jsut drag the sucker.. There are plenty of stable boats out there that would not need any outriggers to maintain stability. Pretty much all boats out there are plenty stable enough to fish from but not all provide the ability to stand while fishing. One great example in your range is the heritage redfish. I would keep your eyes peeled on Craigslist and look for a used boat for a good price because yo uwill probably end up spending at least 150 -200 on a PFD and a paddle, both of which i would not skimp on to much otherwise you won't wear the PFD and the quality of your paddle plays a big part in your enjoyment of kayaking and the amount of distance you can travel. There are quite a few kayak anglers on here so i am sure you will get a few more opinions/suggestions.

Need Info For Susquehanna River
Not sure when the closed season for targeting smallies is and if that is the area you will be fishing but it is worth looking into just to be sure. if it is open you will have a lot of fun and probably have some great fishing. I also know there is an outfitter down river in marysville that rents kayaks. Looks like a little bit of a drive but i have fished that area from sunbury down to harrisburg and had some great rtips.

Cell Phone Providers
I had AT&T about two years ago and switched to Verizon. I haven't seen to much of a difference but I will say the data was faster on AT&T. The big thing about Verizon, at least for me, was calls and texts between Verizon phones is free. Customer service still sucks with Verizon and I will say AT&T was much better there too but I rarely need service so it wasn't a huge factor in my consideration of which carrier.

Hollow Body Frogs
It isn't the barometric pressure making the bubbles it is the barometric pressure allowing them to stay in one piece and not pop. To me as soon as I hear a frog I start chucking them. I caught a fish on a frog this year and water temps were in the low 50's but it wasn't a hollow but the idea is the same.

Pro's Vs Joes Fishing
I would have to side with the Pros side of this one. I am not saying the ywould win every time but i would bet that out of 100 tournaments the pros would win 96 of them and probably even higher percentage if it is a multi day tournament and not a 1 day deal. Anyone who can go to a lake that they may fish once or twice a year and turn around and win a tournament is pretty remarkable really, otherwise we would all be pros

You Win Some, You Lose Some, And Then You Really Lose Badly.
Bummer. Must've been pretty bad for you to stop, fishing and go to the ER. I had a couple pickerel get me before but no stitches received but I probably should have. Good thing I keep some tape with me

Abu Garcia Veritas
I had a 7'mf spinning rod and I liked it and it was sensitive but it was a little to stiff and something just felt off to me. Can't pinpoint what exactly but it just didn't work for me. Sold it to a buddy and he is still fishing it and no issues to speak of as of yet.

Young Bass Angler Look For Tips On Getting Noticed.
Ultimately the only way to get noticed is either be a successful guide or win tournaments. Other than that maybe work in a tackle shop and attend events volunteering etc....

Swim Jig
This is why I have grown to really like this site. A competitor product giving advice on another persons jig line with no sarcasm or ill will. And for the record I have no clue as I don't skip jigs but I have skipped soft plastics

How Many Fish Does It Take You To Call It A "pattern"
Is it even possible to have a pattern when you are fishing shoreline cover? I mean really they are relating to whatever cover is nearby and provides shade, food etc... I always think of patterns as where to look away from the shore and looking at certain depths, ledges humps etc...

Any Better Suggestions?
If you are not set on getting two rods then i would go with a 7' MHF veritas (since you seem to like Abu) and a Revo S and you will have a great et up that can handle pretty much everything you want as the consensus is this type of set up is probably the most versatile. Then save up some more cash and get another set up in the near future. There is also a $25 rebate going right now if you buy an Abu rod and reel so that is always nice. When i got back into fishing a few years back i went out and bought a few combos and before the summer was over i replaced them with more quality gear and was kicking myself for not listening to people telling me to just get a decent set up from the start.

Swim Jigs--Trailers
looks like the consensus is whatever you want to put on there will work At least now i have a good idea of what to look for on my next tackle shopping trip....

Swim Jigs--Trailers
So as i have recently picked up the jig fishing bug and am working on the bottom contact variety but i also had a really good day fishing swim jigs the other day and wanted some advice on trailers. I have only fished them a handful of times and have been using 3.5" yum money minnows but the hollow belly makes them a little difficult to rig, not to mention they seem a litlte pricy for a trailer. I am thinking a solid body swim bait would work and maybe some sort of craw? Anyways what all are you guys using on your swim jigs and also what weight swim jigs do you throw? I just ordered some from Northstar in 3/8oz but i am kind of wondering if that was to heavy but i know it seems like 3/8oz is a go to spinnerbait size and this is pretty much the same thing without the blade so that was my thinking. I would have just used the one i have as a model but i have no clue how heavy it is. Anyways your thoughts are welcome and much appreciated. THanks

Joining The Kayak Crowd.
There are quite a few ways to do it actually. There are companies that make transducer arms that you mount and hang over the side, there is the semi-permanent lexel thru hull method, the duct seal method and then there is the cb antenna mount off a bracket method and is the one I use actually.
