Meet And Greet On The Potomac August 24Th And 25Th
Of course we are strange...why else would we take a boat 12' long and fit the same amount of gear and electronics you power boaters do and then paddle under own power.....the throw in the fly fishing ones and I am not even sure I would want to share a boat

Explosions At The Boston Marathon Finish Line
Yeah I saw they found other devices as well. I highly doubt two explosions in such close proximity and time and the day of a huge event are coincidental.

Surprised My Rod Tip Broke
I broke 2 veritas rods the same way all within a wek of owning them.

Explosions At The Boston Marathon Finish Line
Sad state of affairs. Ironically enough a coworker and I were just talking about how we haven't seen a terrorist type attack at a major sporting event yet..... Prayers go out to the families and first responders at the scene.

Zoysia Grass??
I am in central VA and as far as spreading goes I guess that is kind of the deal since they give you plugs and you plant them 1-2 a sq foot and if you use 2 it should fill in within 1-1/2 growing seasons.

Micro Guides On Spinning Rods
I have 3, 2 spinning and one casting all St croix rage series and I haven't noticed any negative performance issues. That being said, I haven't noticed any gains either. It doesn't seem like they help or hurt other than weight savings so if you like the rods then go for it.

Life On The Road And Home
I remember doing commercial work with my dad and running conduit and if it wasn't perfect he would make me redo it. I hated it at the time because "who would notice a 1/16" off" and the answer was, apparently he would

Zoysia Grass??
So my lawn is more weed than grass and I am not a big fan of yard work as it cuts into to much of my hobby time and my green thumb is purple. I saw the zoysia grass and it seems to be pretty maintenance free and looks pretty good. Anyone have any experience with the stuff? I know it turns brown as soon as it gets cold which I am ok with and it requires little to no maintenance, little watering, good wear resistance and you can use existing established areas to "plug" other areas as needed. I am thinking of trying it on a small isolated section I have just to check it out. Anyone who has it or has any experience advice would be appreciated.

Life On The Road And Home
My dad is in semi-retirement from being an electrician and it always amazes me just how hard he works and how efficient he is compared to the younger guys.

P90X2
Just started phase 2 of the plan this evening. I wasn't able to work out the past two weeks...one week I was sick as a dog and last week I was fishing out of town I have pretty much stayed on the meal plan though and have lost roughly 5-7 pounds but I a, definitely stronger. This phase focuses on strength training and some of the stuff they have you doing with medicine balls and the like is pretty crazy.

The Masters 2013
Shouldn't even have mattered because he should have been watching from his couch.....the whole rules committee has some serious work to do if after they review the play twice they are alerted of an infraction by a fan.

Gopro Hero3 White
I have a gopro2 and the one thing I really wish it had was a remote....that feature alone is worth the upgrade

The Masters 2013
I am in the anti-tiger boat as well. I could care les about him but when rules are bent and broken for a player it is just plain wrong, much like jordan used to get in the nba. Ad tiger hasn't dominated since his tail spin and I doubt he ever will like he did early in his career.

Snap Swivels
I agree with what has been said....yes to snaps and no to swivels for cranks.

Left Handed Baitcasting
The real question is how would you know if you are missing if they hit during the switch..... It seems that those fishing for a pretty long time use RH retrieve reels because there were more available back in the day and you get used to it and most likely they learned on older gear that was RH Retrieve too. Whatever feels comfortable....go with it.

One Rod To Rule Them All...
Unfortunately the various techniques I fish require more rods.....no way I can chuck a frog on a finesse rod and vice versa. That being said, yeah you are in the minority on this one

Commiting To The Jig This Year....
Here are three of the swim jig fish I caught....all were from the same hole and caught within probably 20-30 minutes.

Crankbaits
One thing I have noticed that helps when fishing on top of weeds is to remove one point on the front treble. If you lay the hook down on the body of the bait you will notice there is one hook that sticks out. I have cut these off and not had any difference in fish catching but I have noticed a whole lot less grass snagging.

Commiting To The Jig This Year....
I was fishing a local lake that's around 75 acres. I was using a SK swim jig in bluegill with a pearl money minnow trailer. These were the first fish I have ever caught on a swim jig and they definitely hit pretty hard and I was also surprised at how well it came through the thick grass I was fishing.
