  1. Moccasin blue super fluke for me.
  2. Nice pickerel!!! They seem to be super active this time of year as I know I am catching 2 to 1 pickerel to bass here lately.
  3. All the places I know that hold snakehead have shown that they can live with the bass. I would also guess that being up in bucks county (I grew up there myself) that there are only certain species of snakehead that can handle the cold weather. I wouldn't worry to much and just fish....I know people who have caught largemouth and a snakehead off the same downed tree.
  4. So what you are really saying is in hindsight you would have went for it because now you see the opportunity you missed but under the current rules you wouldn't.....which still doesn't make sense to me but different strokes for different folks.
  5. Yeah I don't know that much about rugby other than the occasional watching it late night on ESPN2 but it is pretty entertaining
  6. Maybe the origins are similar but if you take two people and have them watch both sports I doubt they would see similarities other than a ball and scoring. Kind of like saying baseball and cricket are alike because of similar origins.
  7. My order should be here tomorrow so hopefully i ge a chance to try them out this weekend if not sooner
  8. It's all about supply and demand. If some player is not performing as well as you are and you want more money you use that as leverage to make said money. People continue to pay high ticket prices (myself included) buy jerseys, hats, shirts whatever which brings in the cash. Would you rather the owners make all the money or the players? I wil ltake the players making hte money since their life is on the line. You also have to remember that the average playing career is what 4-5 years, tops? Also find me one former NFL player who doesn't need countless surgeries once their playing days are over and don't forget about the decreased lifespan either. These guys sacrifice their bodies to do something they love and we pay to watch them so whatever they can make i am all for it because i woudl do the same thing and so would every other person in this world and if you say you wouldn't i don't believe you.... As far as rugby goes, it is cool adn all but it isn't like american football in the slightest so the comparisons are kind of silly. It is like comparing deep sea fishing for Marlin to fly fishing for trout in a small mountain stream, yeah they are both fishing but they couldn't be further apart.
  9. I will be interested to see why and if he is affiliated with any groups. My guess is he isn't anything other than some psycopath who had a grudge against society.
  10. I was a little concerned about the creeping nature but my yard has a driveway on both sides so unless it can grow over concrete the width of two cars My neighbors shouldn't be to upset. Now the backyard is a different story but since I have a privacy fence I won't have to see if my neighbors are grumpy I may put a border around the yard though just so I am a good neighbor and all
  11. I have had good luck with them too but you weed out the smaller fish in most cases so the bites aren't as frequent. I think they have good action and are effective when bass are keying in on baitfish.
  12. I think the other thing being missed here is it is part of a natural progression that as you fish longer you want to upgrade gear and along with that time fishing you gain experience at the same time. I have given my st croix rage rod to a new fisherman and he was catching more than with his ugly stick combo he had. Was that because of my teaching him or was it the gear, who knows but his confidence went up and he caught more fish. Ultimately they both go hand in hand and it is pretty rare that a new fisherman is going to go out and drop $300+ on a combo to get into the sport. I started out a few years ago with quantum combos from bass pro then went to st croix mojos and now i am using the st croix rage rods. My catch rate on moving baits is about the same, weightless soft plastics has went up a lot due to the nicer rods and using braid and bottom contact baits has also increased. Who knows the cause of this but i am sure glad it is happening
  13. 7'1" St Croix Rage MF spinning Shimano Sahara 6'8" St Croix Rage MXF spinning Shimano stradic 7' St Croix Mojo MF spinning Shimano Sedona 6'8" St Croix Rage MHF Casting Shimano Citica 7' St Croix Mojo MHF Casting Shimano Citica 7' Kistler Helium MM Casting BPS Pro Qualifier Sage 7'11" Bass II Largemouth lamson reel Sage 9' 7wt XP Galvan reel A few others too but these are the ones I use pretty consistently.
  14. I have a few SK and i like the wider profile but lately i have been throwing the Rapala crankin' rap and clackin' crank and i really like those baits too and have been pretty succesfull with them this early season. I do want to try some of the others but to me if the current ones are working then why change until i lose a few.
  15. The recent show where he was in Guyuana was pretty cool too because they caught that arapima and it turns out it was a new species. I know for me, not being a biologist it would be pretty freaking cool to catch a new species.
  16. Equipment is as important as skill in my opinion. Now the gap isn't as large as you get into high dollar equipment but for me I am not even sure I could cast a ugly stick all day without developing carpal tunnel syndrome Ultimately it is a confidence thing. If you are confident in your equipment you will perform better but if I had to switch to say an ugly stick instead of my st croix and kistlers I think my catch rate would go down due to the decreased sensitivity.
  17. I also wear a baseball hat when fishing and it helps, for me at least, to put the straight temple/ear piece up on my hat. It tilts the glasses a little forward and creates more of an opening at the top. Seems to help me out.
  18. One of my favorite shows. I am not one to watch much tv except sports but this is one I look to see when it is on and watch it. My favorite episode is stil the Goliath tiger fish....that thing is prehistoric and lives in some gnarly water.
  19. The flip side is the same for us too. My dad has a river jet boat and when I fish with him it is always a struggle for me to keep boat position using a trolling motor and having the ability to move around without worrying about knocking something into the drink. It is also harder to get in the right position and stay there when in my kayak I can get right up on a boulder and stop myself or jump out and beach my kayak or tie it to myself. Different strokes for different folks but if I could use a river jet boat here I would get one for sure
  20. me too
  21. Be careful with some products as they may damage any kind of coatingon a plastic lens. Glass lens it probably won't be as much of a concern but if you are wearing $20 sunglasses then i doubt they are glass.
  22. Either one will work well for your application. I would say go with the cheaper or whichever one you have laying around.
  23. Not much you can do when the gaiter is basically directing your breath straight up to your lenses. The only thing that combat fogging is air flow. No coating I have ever seen/used is of any help.
  24. I have had cheeseburger and buffalo wing pizza....not a good combo in my opinion. Some things are just meant to be appreciated on their own
  25. Not quite the same amount of gear but you would be surprised at how much stuff people take. As a matter of fact I need to do some rigging on my kayak to make it a little more streamlined and take better videos.
