I'd like to call out sick to go fishing and believe me, I consider it all the time. But quite frankly I can't afford to miss work. I need all the hours I can get. That being said, My work schedule is 5pm-midnight 6 nights a week. So what I do is go to work, stay up all night, fish from about 6am til 830 or 9, then go home and go to sleep until its time for work. Rinse and repeat. I also get every Thursday off so that's my main fishing day.

Nice man...its always fun to catch something unexpected.

So I watched my first fishing tournament last night. I think it was Major League Fishing or something like that. Anyway, its like 3:30 in the morning and I'm flipping through the On-Demand menu and I saw some fishing stuff. Figured, 'ok...Ill watch a nice relaxing fishing show'. All of a sudden my TV speakers practically explode with Iaconelli going 'RRRRRAAAAAWWWWWRRRR!!!!! I CAUGHT A FISH!!!! OMG!!!!! RRRRRAAAAAWWWWRRRR!!!!'. And then it cuts to one of the other boats clear across the lake and you hear him in the background and the guy goes 'I hear screamin...Iaconelli must have caught a fish'. My girlfriend who was asleep actually got up to ask me what the hell that noise was. What's that guys deal? I'm not questioning his fishing skill. He was killing it the whole time. I just think he needs to lay off the mountain dew or something.

Sucks man but at least you still caught some nice fish. I wouldn't mind catching that one in the picture.

Caught a couple on spinner baits myself a few days ago. Definitely wasn't expecting the results I got considering the water temps.

Sounds like a fun trip and that story about Ethel is pretty cool!

Thanks guys. Im gonna try and get out Sunday or Monday morning if I can. If not Im definitly going Thursday. Thinking I might try some of the other lakes near me and see if the bites on there as well.

Ah...gottcha. And X's 2 on the trout. Thats all Ive been catching all winter. Its nice to be catching something but Im really glad that Im back on the bass now.

Wwwwhhhhaaattt?! Dude, where is this magical Walmart? My Walmart never has deals like this on fishing stuff.

Went to Walmart today for some groceries and walked through the fishing section. They almost always have the same stuff but today I noticed some Strike King buzzbaits that I'd never seen in there before. Since I didn't have any buzzbaits and they were only $4, I picked one up. Caught my first spinnerbait fish today on a chartruese Strike King spinnerbait and then lost it so Im gonna pick up another one of those tomorrow.

When I was that age, all I fished was either nightcrawlers with a bobber or small ball-head jigs with a little grub. But then my dad never really got into buying all kinds of different lures. Ill second roostertails or some sort of crankbait since the fish usually hook themselves pretty good. Also, you can't argue with the fish catching power of senkos and other stickbaits.

Well that worked out well for me today. 20mph winds blowing in my face and taking my lures up into the trees but managed my first 3 fish of the season.
