  1. Hello and welcome!
  2. I mostly catch and release but every once in a while Ill keep a couple smaller ones. I haven't had a chance yet to try walleye or crappie so I don't really have anything to compare it to but the couple of times my girlfriend fried up the bass I brought home they were amazing. I think somebody else already mentioned flour, egg, and italian seasoned bread crumbs. Like I said, mostly catch and release and if it's a big I always throw it back but theres nothing wrong with keeping a few legal fish every now and then as long as your not just stocking up your freezer.
  3. Congrats on an awesome catch! Im hoping for my first swim jig fish this season.

  7. Mines a blue merle too. He's not so good with people unless they have dogs with them though. He's not vicious or aggressive. Just scared of his own shadow. They definitly have a ton of energy. He can't sit still even after we take him to the park and run him around for a few hours. We had one a few years ago that was 15 and we tried to take it easy on him when we went to the park but he'd still try and run up all kinds of steep rocky terrain. And they're too smart for their own good. I swear Im suprised this dog doesn't talk. I wish I had a picture but he runs and hides whenever I point a camera at him.
  8. Found the owner. They lived right across the road from us. Can't believe I'd never seen the dog before. They called the Humane Society and they gave them our number. Glad she's back where she belongs. The people seemed really happy to to get her back. I know my Aussie is glad she's gone. She was only here a couple hours and claimed his food, toys, the couch and me for herself.
  9. Thats a good idea. Ill ask a couple people tomorrow at work.
  10. I would but I don't use Facebook. Maybe I should make an account though just to try and get this dog home.
  11. I like these threads but my PB's arent all that big so I figure I better get mine in before everyone else posts pics of their 10lbers. I don't have any weights on these. The pickerel and the trout are about 16-18 inches and I think the LM went about 15.5. PB LM PB Trout PB Chain Pickerel
  12. I was doing some yard work today and look what came walking up to me. We walked all around the neighborhood knocking on doors and no one recognized her. Took her up the road to the Humane Society and they scanned her to see if she had one of those Pet Tracker microchips but nothing. They said we could leave her but we figured theres too many dogs in shelters as it is so we brought her back home and were gonna put up some flyers. Im hoping we find her owner cuz I know how I would feel if I lost my dog. We probably won't be able to keep her for long cuz she's being really territorial and my Austrailian Shpherd seems like he's terrified of her.
  13. I went to the Hanover BPS about a month ago and they had all the Rage Baits. I got a pack of these and the Eeliminators. Can't wait to fish them. It was kind of a pain to find the plastics I wanted to buy though. I feel like it would have been easier if they were organized by brand name rather than type of bait. Like have all the Rage stuff together and all the Zoom stuff together etc.
  14. I have a pack of these ready to go for prespawn but haven't fished them yet. Im planning on using the Rage Rig or using them as a swim jig trailer. Heres a link to the post Big-O made about them a while back. Theres some rigging info there. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/108801-rage-shellcracker-bass-sushi/
  15. Dude, that thing is sweet! I want one!
  16. Nice! Had a lot of fun this fall/winter catching trout myself. Gonna go out next Thursday for some Valentines Day trout fishing with my girlfriend. Kind of like our present to each other. Im so glad I have a woman that enjoys fishing.

  18. Hello and welcome!
  19. I don't fish stick baits that often but whenever I do, I almost always catch fish. I usually T-rig them weightless but there are several other ways you can fish them. Theres a ton of info about them in various other posts. Ive actually thought of buying that same kit you mentioned just because of what a bargin that price it. 18.99 for 104 pcs? You can't beat that with a stick! The only thing stopping me is like I said, I don't fish them much.
  20. Heck of a fish you have there!
  21. Thats kind of what I was thinking. Also another reason for the scent is to make the fish hold on longer giving extra time to set the hook right? It seems like that wouldn't be so much of an issue with treble hook lures.
  22. Thats pretty cool. As long as were on the topic of big cats, I saw this a few months ago. The quality kind of sucks though.
