Worst Fishing Trip Ever
Wow man. That sucks. Okeechobee would be a dream trip for a lot of people. Sorry to hear that something that should have been so great went so wrong. Like everyone else said, at least you guys are ok. Hopefully you get your new gear soon and can get back out there.

So How Many Of You Prefer To Use Cash Over A Credit Card/debit?
I don't have a credit card. Another bill is not something I need. I do have a debit card but I only use it for paying bills and making the occasional online purchase. I feel like the less I use it, the easier it is to keep track of what I have left and the less likely I am to overdraw my account. I get a paycheck every 2 weeks that goes into the bank for bills and I use the cash tips that I make each night for everything else.

Took 2 Years
Awesome fish! Must be nice living on those Florida canals and being able to just walk out back and catch fish like that.

Greetings From Washington Dc.
Good luck to you. I need to get my 2013 liscence soon. I wanna get out for some trout before it warms up but a pickerel or 2 is always a nice surprise. They always put up a really good fight.

Greetings From Washington Dc.
I just started fishing this past year so I don't really know how common they are but I do know that I definitly started catching them a lot more in the fall when it started to cool off. Caught them on KVD 1.5's and BPS worms fishing for bass and 1/4oz roostertails fishing for trout.

Greetings From Washington Dc.
Haven't caught a bass since November. Chain pickerel and stocked trout are about the only things still biting. Caught a few nice picks this past fall between 18 and 24 inches.

Trip To Bass Pro Shop
Just went for the first time myself a couple weeks ago. It was awesome! Think I was in there for about 2 hours. Had $75 worth of gift cards but ended up spending an extra $90 in cash that I didn't originally intend to. Everytime we started to leave my girlfriend would decide she wanted to look at the clothes or shoes or something. So guess where I went while she did that. Thats right. Back over to the fishing stuff. The fish tank was really cool. Lots of big bass, a monster sized catfish and several other species. One thing was kind of irritating though. As I walked in, I was asked if I wanted to enter a drawing for a BPS shopping spree. So Im like "sure, thats sounds great". They lead me over to this little kiosk where I can fill out the entry slip and as Im standing there, this guy comes up and starts asking me all these questions about what I fish for, where I'd like to fish, and how much I spend on vacations. At this point Im like "oh geeze...here it comes". And then he goes into this long presentation trying to sell me a week long getaway at one of the BPS resorts that they run. Don't get me wrong. The resorts looked nice and the price seemed pretty good and all but the guy was really pushy about it, even to the point of offering me $100 in BPS giftcards if I buy now even though I told him several times that I didn't have the money for it. Just a little warning. If they ask you if you want to enter their drawing, politely decline. Other than that though it was a great expierience.

Stocking The Tackle Box
Oh...duh! Ok. Gotcha. Re-read your OP and it finally sunk in. Either way, my suggestions still stand.

Stocking The Tackle Box
I dunno about depleted. Sounds like your set up pretty good. Anyway, how bout some poppers and hollow body frogs? And maybe some inline spinners with gold blades for overcast days? I like firetiger with a gold blade. Other than that, I'd say stock up on whatever plastics your low on. IMO those BPS soft plastic kits you mentioned are a real bargin. A lot of baits for a low price. I bought the worm kit last summer and caught my share of fish on them. I know you said no brands but as long as that tax money is burning a hole in your pocket, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a few Rage Tail products. Im planning on trying the RT Eeliminators this season. My little brother absolutley crushes bass with these.
