So I bought a Rooster Tail inline spinner today and it seems like most of the time when I retrieve it, the blade isn't spinning. It works right sometimes but for the most part, no. Any tips/easy fixes that would take care of this?

Lake Tuckahoe. Theres a dam at the lower end. I was fishing off of that. The shoreline has tons of weeds and runs off on either side of the dam and about 30-40 feet along the one side, theres a big bunch of lily pads. I was casting towards the pads and burning it back to the dam. Caught a nice bass today on a Rappala Shad Rap and my girlfriend caught her first fish ever (chain pickerel) on a generic crank that came with her rod. The crankbait bite is definitly on.

Put an M-80 in my rainspout once. Ended up knocking the thing down and sending shards of shrapnel all over the place. There was a chunk about the size of a silver dollar stuck in one of my wooden awning posts. Lucky no one got hurt.

Even though I don't put much into them, I still check them before I go out. I know there are some guys out there that swear by their charts.

I actually saw something about this on that show 'River Monsters'. The guy was in Japan. Think he was going after big catfish or something like that. Anyway, if I remember correctly, the japaneese fisherman he was talking to was saying that he noticed an increase in the catfish activity right before earthquakes. You can probably find the episode on netflix or something like that. Also I didn't know there was an earthquake. Where/when was it?

Never looked at the farmers almanac but it seems like the weather.com charts are full of crap. Most of the time when they say the fishing is supposed to be excellent, I dont' even get a bite and when the fishing is supposed to be terrible, Ill be catching nice fish. Im not real expierienced though so it could just be me. Im starting to worry less about charts and worry more about just fishing.

As far as fishing slow, T-rig worms. Cast, let sit, twitch it on the bottom a bit, let it sit, twitch, sit, twitch sit, repeat. However, all I've caught on T-rigs the last 2 weeks or so has been pickerel. Never caught one before and then all of a sudden 4 in the last couple trips. My last few bass have all been on crankbaits that dive 4-8 feet.

Im not really into cars/trucks so I almost didn't read this post but I must admit, that is pretty cool.

Most of my fishing is done in the mornings before work so I just go to the lake closest to my house. However, when I get off there are 3 or 4 others fairly close by that I like to go to.

X's 2. All WRB's posts always seem so well thought out and contain lots of info. So if the bass are deeper and moving, where should I look for them on a lake thats a pretty much a constant 6 or 7 feet? Most of the cover on this lake is along the shoreline. Theres a semi-circle shaped dam at the lower end which empties into a circular pool before feeding into a creek. The creeks about 20-30 feet wide and no more than 2.5-3 feet deep. Theres also another little, I'd guess I'd call it kind of a channel, running between shoreline weeds feeding into another exit stream. Channels about 15 feet wide but deeper than the other creek. These are really the only spots avaialable for shore fishing. Ive been trying the same areas where I've caught some during the summer but lately I've been getting skunked a lot. Anyone have any suggestions?

The season premiere was great! I just hate that they always leave you hanging. That hour always seems to go by so fast and just when your really getting into it the credits start to roll. Next Sunday can't come soon enough. Im not really a comic book guy but I'd like to read the Walking Dead comics. Also Lori is really annoying. She needs to be eaten already.

I actually went in there the other day to pick up a few things. The guy was really nice this time and I didn't have the 'being watched feeling'. Maybe I had just caught them on a bad day the other times.

Went out for 3 hours right at sunrise yesterday. Nothin. Went out around the same time the day before and caught a small LM on a medium diving crankbait and a chain pickerel on a 7 inch green worm. The bass was only like 10 inches and the pickerel was probalby around 12. Caught a pick on thursday that was pushing 20.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, its basically a zombie apocolypse. Its based on a comic book and follows a group of survivors through rurual Georgia. Not only do they have to contend with hoardes of the undead but also betrayal from within their own group, other groups of hostile survivors, and various moral and ethical dilemas that arise from unforseen situations. New season starts tonight. Im stoked. Its gonna be awesome! If you haven't seen it, its definitly worth a look.

Congrats man. Sounds like a lot of people are all about those $1 wal mart spinners. Im gonna have to check them out. Tired of losing $6 dollar spinnerbaits.

I haven't really fished weightless that often. Usually only a senko. Ive only been at this a couple months and I started out using weights so I guess I've just been sticking with what I know. Maybe Ill try going weightless tomorrow and see if I notice a difference with snags.

Thanks for the input guys. Going out in the morning and since, I haven't had a chance to pick up any trailerhooks, Im gonna try to fish my spinnerbaits strait up for a while and then add the grub trailer right to the hook and see if I notice a difference.
