  1. My frogging setup is a Daiwa T3 Ballistic 7.1:1 with a 7ft MH fast St. Croix Mojo Bass rod. I think I'm going to get a St. Croix Rage rod either 7' 4" H Fast or a 7' 1" MH extra fast to pair with the T3 Ballistic later in the spring... And I have it spooled with 65# Power Pro, all the fish I caught on Okeechobee were with this reel and line...
  2. The first jig I'll soak this year will be this, with a Rage Grub trailer.... I think it looks REALLY sweet! And I'm really looking forward to hitting spoonwood for the first time where I'll throw this with a DB Craw. And mike compete in the "Who Wants In" It's a lot of fun!
  3. Oh and do you guys use rattles for these prespawn fish or not? Or does it not really matter?
  4. If we get enough guys from New England to participate than we'll do that, I'm thinking at least 10. I have a really good feeling about this year, I think we are all going to get some SLOBS! We have some time to think about it considering the weather!
  5. Catch new PBs and win high school bass fishing championship!
  6. "Who Wants In" is going to start back up in April, for those of you who didn't compete last year please consider! I think we had three months worth of competition last year, here's what it is for those are want to compete this year http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/124375-who-wants-in-september/ I'm thinking about holding it just to New England this year instead of the Northeast... Still thinking about it, but am excited to get it under way again!
  7. It's not just that moving deep produces more large fish, but it's just getting of the shore. If you move of the shore 30 yards for example and there is submerged grass or something and its maybe a foot deeper or the same depth for that matter, it's just that more people are beating the banks and you may run into some good numbers and good size off shore... Not always the case, my 2nd biggest bass at 5# 11oz came right on shore and my PB 6# 5oz came offshore. It also depends on the techniques your using and what type of cover/ structure your trying to pull bass from...
  8. We got lots of small fish on Okeechobee, we threw Gambler Big EZs all day and I did get one nice one!
  9. Okeechobee was a bunch of fun!!! Lots of smaller fish and I got one 5 pounder, we were fishing in HEAVY cover it was a blast! After my 5 we went even deeper hoping to find the true giant but came out with nothing bigger, still a blast! And it was nice to break in my T3 Ballistic with 65# braid down there...
  10. Anything that doesn't catch pickerel!
  11. Okeechobee Thursday, and it is already pushing 80 degrees! Hooked up with a small snook last night but my drag wasn't properly set so she got away... I'll update as much as I can...
  12. Exactly, I have taken creature baits and ripped them in half with success... The Rage menace and craw are my favorites for swim jigs as well. Sometimes when I'm throwing a 1/4 or 3/8oz swim jig in heavy cover I like to put on a Rage grub and pop the jig through the cover.... MAGIC!!!
  13. I'll be down there late Saturday night, to late Thursday... I'll be fishing with Captain Shane on Thursday which has me excited!
  14. The abu garcia vengeance is an inexpensive rod but the quality is definitely there! I think it is $50 or $60, mine is currently sitting at the bottom of spoonwood lake so that's that LOL!
  15. PIG as usual!
  16. I'll be fishing Okeechobee on Thursday the 27th with Captain Shane Procell, it will be my first time on Okeechobee and I'm pumped! I'll be doing more saltwater fishing sadly just because it's more convenient for me and don't want to bring down bass gear... Hopefully I'll have some nice pics for you guys! And my second biggest bass of my life was at night, and in mid October on a spook... Stripers, same thing I like to stick a heavy heavy jig on the bottom or throw a topwater or a bait that stays less than a foot under water... Then the night of my PB, I didn't throw one topwater bait but we caught 4 fish totaling 18lbs 3 oz during a full moon in an hour and a half!
  17. Sinnerbaits- colorado blade. Jigs- upgrade trailer size, rattles are preferable at night (If you are texas rigging use larger plastics) . Topwater- frogs, poppers, prob baits, chatter baits, wake baits, etc. My favorites at night are topwater baits and jigs! They'll definitely do the trick!
  18. Top 3 LM and PB SM
  19. I'm in NH and have fished it the past two years, I started the team when I was a sophomore, PM me! The first year was a trial, and this year was the first real season. We came in 3rd in the qualifying tournament and a somewhat disappointing 7th in the championship, hoping to win it this time around!
