  1. I've never seen a crank with a blue bill, but it should be easy to paint, either with a Sharpie or a Spike It dipping product.
  2. Under water translucent red line (Cajun Red) looks exactly like any normal 'clear' line at 12 feet. It does not disappear, but does grow dimmer to our eyes. It is harder to see, but not 'invisible. I used to be on the side that it completely disappears at 10-12 feet and beyond, until I saw it on a fishing show (sorry don't remember which one, but it was on the VS channel, and it was saltwater fishing) where they used a camera at 20 feet or so. The red translucent line they were showing was totally visible. It looked no different than the clear line. BOTH the red and the clear were LESS visible than the green line and the neon chartreuse line they were also comparing, but certainly not invisible. The 'disappearing line' is a myth based on junk science. The line, a solid object will always reflect some light, so the only way it will ever be truly invisible is in completely dark conditions. Another thing to remember is that a bass's eyes are about as sharp as a cat's, if not better. So while to our eyes something may seem dimmer, to a Bass's, maybe not so... I guess the long and short of it is that it is nothing more than a marketing scheme, if you like the red line, cool, buy it. I bought into the myth of it and have about 6 spools of Cajun red that I use. It performs just as good as low vis green Stren, or whatever clear Trilene I have.
  3. It's very similar to a bandit 100, but I know that's not right...
  4. I've been playing too, but had no idea on the last two. I'm looking that newest one right now and trying to figure it out...
  5. Get number 7 and use a Sharpie Magic Marker to draw a few bass like stripes/dots down the middle. Otherwise, like somebody else said, Storm has a couple of other patterns that look more bass-like than what BPS is displaying...
  6. Definitely 'cute' lure... Megabass Rat-X?
  7. A jig. I lose patience too quickly.
  8. Thanks Roadwarrior, I had forgotten that post. Will try it.
  9. Strike King Diamond Shad is my favorite. I also plan to give the Red Eye shad a good workout this spring.
  10. I have given the jig a good try, but where I fish the bottom is a soupy mess of mud and green slime, and my jig always gets wrapped up with the slimy as soon as it gets down there. It is why most of my fishing is done with topwater, shallow cranks, or weightless plastics... Any suggestions other than moving to another area of the country?
  11. LOL, I too have a heavy as lead tackle bag, and I'm a shore fisherman. I also bring 4-5 rods every time I go out. One guy asked if I was waiting for a boat to pick me up, or if my boat sank...
  12. I agree with the Bandit footloose and the Bandit 100.
  13. Alright, the lure is an Artful Dodger by Paul Bunyun Lures... I just grabbed the pic from ebay and changed the name... http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Paul-Bunyan-Artful-Dodger-lure-minnow_W0QQitemZ150225302581QQihZ005QQcategoryZ794QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem OK, Somebody else gets to pick the next lure...
  14. Cool. I'll wait a little while longer.
  15. How long before I give the answer?
  16. It definitely bears resemblance to a River Runt, but it is smaller, and was used on a fly rod...
  17. Nope, not a River Runt.
  18. Cool.... Here's mine:
  19. If it isn't a Zip Baits Orbit, is it a Zip Baits Rigge? I haven't seen the Manta Ray...
  20. Zip Baits Orbit?
  21. Megabass Vision?
  22. Matzuo cranks suck, but I love their spinnerbaits. I lost a skirt on one, but never had any of the other problems... I got about 8 of them from KMart on clearance, and have used them for two years running. Love them.
  23. Just go to your closest asian market and pick up a half dozen live snakeheads. A google search will turn up some zebra mussels for sale somewhere, I'm sure. And Tilapia can live anywhere. Good luck! Just kidding, I agree with Pondboss, cull the sunfish and smaller bass. Fry em up and have a fish dinner once a week. If you do not like eating fish, offer some to your neighbors... Worst comes to worst, use them as fertilizer in your garden. My dad used sunfish for years when planing his garden.
  24. Deep Clear Water techniques. Cold Front experiments.
  25. That is surprising to me. I love that old bait, I stocked up on them when the store near me went under. I have about a dozen of them on a shelf. I have enough to last me a few years, at least.
