Posting for a buddy... He was looking at grabbing some new reels baitcaster and spinning and he has some older Fuegos. He said the new ones are half the price of what he paid for the older ones awhile back. So he's asking: Are they as good or better with the newer technology than their previous versions? I don't know anything about these so I was of no help. Any feedback I could relay would be great.

BTD has a Halloween sale just placed a huge line order for next years stockpile lol ordered 2 spools of Ion Assassin 12# for jigs and 8# for shakey head leader. Can't wait to try it.

You're first baitcaster definitely take that Abu off the list!!! Still have yet to fish the Curado I series but do own a few dozen Shimanos. You're first BC I recommend quality just for ease of use and it's less frustrating regarding back lashes. Anything in the $125-$175 range should be good. New Citica is $150 I personally would start there. I would even venture to say buy a Citica G series used off eBay. Same price range on a good Rod and all the savings towards baits and line.

I'm sold! I do like Sufix Siege for Top Water poppers spooks buzz baits, and spinner baits. Rather than Super Nat. Plus it's readily available locally.... Can't wait to try this Shooter Sniper also want to try Structre FC for C Rig lol check out that Sunline JP link there's tons of different types of lines any application you can think of.

Haha. Sounds like a good plan to me. I haven't fished shooter yet just Sniper and Super Nat. My Jig set up I typically want the best line money can buy (my tournament bread and butter). This is definitely on my next JDM order. I've been reading that Shooter is more sensitive than Sniper, probably due to it being stiffer, so if this is basically a more sensitive version of Sniper I'll be all over it!

I hate that line with a utter passion. No offense. Want to stick with a regular FC. I may have to make the hour and half drive to my Cabelas and grab AbrazX :/ don't want Seaguar but I know it will work.

I'm throwing a 50size reel on my ***. Super comfortable! Also have a bunch of omens. The Tatulas literally hurt my hands with the reel seat the shimanos not at all. Don't fish any other brand reels so I can't say.

Hey guys, so I have a tourney this Sunday and hopefully will get out to practice Saturday as well. So been throwing 15-17lb FC as my main line however no one local has anything other than Red label or Trilene. Any other brands any of you throw that have really good abrasion resistance that someone local might have??? DSG has p lines stuff and Sufix FC which I haven't tried either. I've heard horror stories about the Sufix FC but I love their monos.... Help lol please

Looking at the 3 I'm selling with the spool completely filled the line rubs against it on retrieve. Looks like you gotta strip about 40yards of line off to the point where it goes straight from spool and out the hole with out touching that part. Any more than that the line is leaving the spool on a angle. Maybe they should have used a type of material that's used in guides???

Do you or anyone else reading this have a Ci4 Stradic to compare drags. Say I went carbontex would it be same size?
