The guy who did a tuneup of one and wrote a review on the TT forums have it a better review overall. This doesn't say it's better than other reels in price range he just reviewed it for what it is. It definitely looks cool for someone who collects shimanos.

All my cranking rods are Dobyns which I've had prior to 13 releasing their moderate action crank rods. With that being said 685 or 705CB are both great choices leaning more towards 705 as it will be better for Cranks down to the 14-16ft range and still have good backbone for ripping a square through weeds. Also both are great rods for spooks.

Looks like the perfect reel for sight and bed fishing finesse presentations.

Depending on the tip I'm prob gonna be using it as a 1/4oz spider jig and tiny T Rig presentations. Either 6/7# straight fluorocarbon or or 15# braid with FC leader. Any recommendations on reel from the lineup???

Yes OG bait runner 6500. Got it the month it came out back in the 90s. Beat the living hell out of it in saltwater for Stripers and Blues. Still useable but very wobbly and rough. 20 +/- years and 100s upon 100s of fish with very little maitnence. Hard to beat that.

Any one use this reel for drop shotting 3/16oz and less? Or use straight fluorocarbon rather than braid and leader?

What's the difference between 2500, 2500S, 2000, 2000HGS, 2000sfb and 2000S??? Typically I would want Stradic Ci4+ quality minimum without going as high a Sustain. Carolina rig 3/4oz weight and at end of leader tie on 3 jig or shaky head jigs in all different directions. That will keep to the bottom best it can so just fan area. Hope u get it back, if you do call DVT.

I buy the 660 yard spools of sniper whenever there's a sale or eBay. Usually roughly around $45 on average for 7# 10# and 12# which is what I've been throwing this year.

Idk it says monofilament right on the packaging. If it's a copoly that news to me. Either way I love it for top water. Lol

I didn't get into specifics I stated the comparisons to generalize the 2 main FCs for each brand for the OP. If he already uses one brand he'll know which direction to look at the next brand. Obviously the lines are different lol

InvizX is to Sniper as AbrazX is to Shooter. I switched from Seaguar myself to Sunline had a couple quips but since that first week no problems. Both good lines. I left Seaguar because they don't stand behind their products. As far as mono goes I prefer Sufix Elite and Siege not crazy about super natural or Senshi.
