  1. Capt. Shane Procell, PM him on here and go have a blast. Brian.
  2. Gas, airfare, Hotels, tackle, guides etc. Fishing 200+ days a year the gas and hotels is what kills you. $10,000+. Brian.
  3. Big Bear Rods, you can get micros, spiral wrap, any rod length, any handle length, great blanks, wrap color, etc., all for less than most higher end rods. Call Rob up and have a talk, you won't regret it. Brian.
  4. I've used a variety of the 10' plastic boats. I just put an Uncle Buck's from BPS together at the start of the year and couldn't be more pleased. 55lb. thrust Endura, Sonar/DI, and 4" seat heigth extentions, very stable and I can easily load and unload by myself. Brian.
  5. You can run from the Bait Monkey but you can't hide, he'll always catch ya. Brian.
  6. Get ahold of Mike at Hawgtech and he'll hook you up. Brian.
  7. What seems to be the problem with the factory bearings. I use 10 Lew's Team Golds and they all cast a mile. Brian.
  8. I've used them and they don't seem to rip GY Senkos up as bad as other hooks. They are not Tru-Turns, but consistent in that design. One of my friends uses them exclusively. Brian.
  9. Damb Shane, I'd have to wear a Depends incase I peed a little. Brian.
  10. I've straightened hooks with 12lb. Yo-Zuri. Brian.
  11. Have 2 of the rotating uprights from BPS, haven't had a problem with either. Nice enough that the Wife lets me store my rods in the bedroom. Brian.
  12. Whatever you do....do not 'settle'. I know how hard it can be but if you have to wait for the boat you want then wait. Don't settle on anything if you can help it.....it is a breeding ground for disappointment or discontent! Good luck. Chris Best advice I've heard in a long time. Smart man here, you should listen to what he says. Brian.
  13. This winter we caught several 4lb.+ Bass fishing for Crappie on 4lb. mono. Good drag and play the fish, no problems. Brian.
  14. Kind of lets you know how old you're getting when a lot of your Heros are passing. RIP Cotton. Brian.
  15. Piranha 197c DI, less than $150. No reason to put a boat in the water and be blind. I have a Sonar/DI on my Uncle Bucks and wish I would have went with a GPS/Chartplotter, I could save spots. Brian.
  16. Grip pin hook, drop of glue, tooth pick through hook eye, etc.. Brian.
  17. I sent you a PM. Brian.
  18. Berkley, they make just about everything and you can't argue with their success. Brian.
  19. Go to Florida. I'd be there now but the Wife is doing a complete overhaul of the entire bottom floor....lousy Wife. Can't gripe though, she spends a lot of time being a fishing widow, she has never complained once. Brian.
  20. Guy up here has the lake and charges $35 an hour, $120 for 4 hours, to fish it. Not a bad racket. Brian.
  21. No guide, just a friend from the area. You can find guides for Tarpon Lake doing a search, there are several. Brian.
  22. There is more sensitive mono, it's called Co-Poly. There are better brands of Floro that are better suited to spinning reels, I've used McCoy for the last 5 years and haven't looked back. Brian.
  23. Lake Tarpon, been there twice and had a blast. Brian.
  24. Great advice, people do get thing out of sequence. It was great to retire fully at 45 and do whatever I want everyday, not sometime, everyday. It was hard and sometimes I felt it wasn't worth it, but it's been 3 years now and I'm lov'n it. My choice would be House, Land and Pond, if you're starting from a blank slate. Easy to choose boat if you have a roof over your head. Brian.
