Craws baits as topwater
The first time I buzzed a piece of plastic on top was with the old Ditto Gator Tail worms . Also have used grubs , lizards and craws . Short arm Colorado bladed spinnerbaits can also do it , like the old Bass Buster Scorpion . The spinnerbaits sound cool making a burbling sound but difficult to keep the cadence going during the entire retrieve .

Slot Limit
Most of the small conservation lakes have a slot limit here . They only work if angler take advantage of them . The Conservation dept begs anglers to keep fish but when agents measure them , they do everything in their power to stretch small fish into the slot and shrink fish that are over .

Most fish ever caught in a season ?
I've had days where a bass is caught on about every cast . It seems like every fish in the lake is squeezed into one small area . One day in the late fall I predicted bass would be in the back of creeks . Thing is , the first two creeks zero but the third creek it was every cast . Even if a fish came off another would be on in a second .

What is your favorite and or most succesful Lure?
I definitely have a favorite and that would be buzzbaits . I have worn numerous ones out . My favorite are ones I pour . My most successful bait is the Texas rig . Lizards , worms , craws... the one I caught the most fish on is the black grape Jelly Worm .

Boated vs non boated
When I fish from shore , there are almost always over-hanging branches blocking my cast to reach lay-downs . ?

Boated vs non boated
For the most part a boat allows one to be more efficient.

Night fishing for large mouth Bass
Are you fishing from shore or boat ? I like to fish rip rap dams , main lake flats and points with buzzbaits , spinnerbaits , texas rigs and crankbaits . These are easy and productive areas to fish .

BIGFOOT SIGHTING
Back in the 70's just a few miles down the road , there were several reports of a Bigfoot like creature . It was nicknamed Momo , short for the Missouri Monster . I always wondered if someone was pulling a prank in a big monkey suit . http://www.stateofhorror.com/momo.html

Rechargeable spotlight .
I bought a 22 foot Lowe a few years back and never had it out at night .I plan on going fishing tomorrow night and the 12 volt outlet is broke , so I'm forced to buy a rechargeable spotlight from Wal Mart or Lowes . Maybe a Stanley Fat Max . Any recommendations?

back pain

Carp Fishing Help!
I came up with my own bolt rig on the spot one day. It exceeded expectations . The trebel hook is used primarily as the bait holder , I squeeze the barbs down .The other hook is an octopuss hook. The plastic tubing just keeps the line aligned , dont have to learn a fancy knot . I just stripped apiece of electrical wire to get it . The bobber stop keeps it together . Chum the area down , put the dough ball on and place rod in a secure rod holder and wait . Dont have to set the hook . The carp will take care of that . My dough ball is usually Wheaties , I used a piece of bread here just for the pictures .

Good start to the day; the end? not so much
Thankfully nobody is seriously injured . That was a good looking boat .

Crankbait rod and reel
My favorite reel is my crankbait reel . Its a Johnny Morris with a 5 something to 1 ratio . I suspect a combo could be purchased for 200 dollars .

Are Active Carp Relevant?
I was standing on a culvert overlooking a pond that is back-water from the Mississippi. There were a whole bunch of carp in the middle gulping surface algae , like they do so much . I thought it would be fun to snag one . I tied on a Bomber Long A minnow and threw it past them , then started jerking violently , hoping to hook one . One of the largest bass I ever caught smashed that lure . He was right in there with the carp .

At the end of my line
I dont know what the fishing is like in Eastern Kentucky . Have you looked at all your options on places to fish . Are there any small lakes managed by your conservation dept. irrigation ditches ...Kayaks can reach remote places not accessible to the bass boat crowd . Around here good public fishing spots abound for anyone with the drive to find them . The guys with the bass boats are the handicapped ones .

Need help with trebbles getting snagged
I fish a river and anything that gets in the rocks gets wedged . I find it helps to use a thin jig head and thick grub . That way the soft plastic gets wedged instead of the lead . The plastic can usually be pulled free . Roadrunner heads work pretty well .

Flippin’ for bass
An 8 inch Jelly Worm slapping the surface is a very natural sound and bass will often inhale it immediately .
