I did improve on depth finder comprehension . Caught some 20 foot plus deep bass on crankbaits . Thats the deepest I ever caught bass on diving plugs . I doubt if I get much better . I turned 60 this year and dont get to spend as much time fishing that I need to .

I tried some surf fishing in Florida last year and got skunked . Next time I'm going to try some heavy spoons . How did you retrieve them ?

I use the 1/8th ounce size to weight Strike King Mini spins . Take the rubber out and crimp it on the hook .

Welcome to the 500 club . Thats how I started last year then won the next tourney at Okeechobee because I picked Horton . Then it was all down hill from there .

Before I went to work yesterday I checked basstrack and had 3 anglers if the top 50 and one was in first with a fast limit. I get back and only one in the top 50 and that first place angler still had the same weight and out of the top fifty .

The Clankin Rap were in the Clearance bins last year and I didnt pick one up . Now those bins are full of Arashi baits . The Fat Raps are usually the first bait I try at around the five foot mark . They are not all created equal . The best ones are slightly heavier , cast better and feel better . I have about 10 total and two or three are that way .

I dont soak the fish I eat in milk but they are all a white tasty flesh . Now white bass , I may try soaking them in lime/lemon juice , that is suppose to take the strong taste out of them . They are so plentiful at my home lake I need to find a way to prepare them .

No , just because of the swivels . Those cheap swivels wont allow the blade to turn when they are dropping . Something I do a lot . Otherwise they work just like every other spinnerbait .

The Crankin Rap is one of my favorites .I have never used a Clackin Rap . The Crankin Rap's rear hook attachment isnt on the end , it is slightly forward like on a Wiggle Wart ,making me wonder if it is not a Storm design .I have several of all the sizes .

I like to watch Scott Martin practice for tournaments .

Jigs are another lure that I dont see a difference in brands . I like the Strike King Denny Brauer rattling jigs dont know the name . Those Strike King Bitsy Bugs have caught an awful lot of fish for me .

4 inches of visibility max , I dont think I ever caught anything deeper than 8 to 10 foot . I simply fish shallow , try different things and hope for the best . Flipping Jigs in shoreline cover like you did is always a good place to start . Sometimes one is just in the wrong spot at the wrong time .

They are not that uncommon around here .
