Can Bass Hear Rattles in Your Baits?
Of course they can . Like my post in that same thread . I have called bass out of trees by tapping a fingernail on a watch face while snorkeling . The bass would come out and look directly at the commotion .

The difference in getting bit
I've been lucky enough to fish in a public fishery that received little to no pressure . It was fantastic . Then when word got out about the place and people started fishing it , those bass became edumicated quickly . It went through a drastic change . So in my experience , bass are affected by fishing pressure and do become lure shy . No doubt .

Topwater at Night
I have a black musky Jitterbags because back in the 80's Bassmaster had an article about catching big fish with them at night . I never caught a bass on it .

Help with lipless cranks
You have spent a lot more time under water than me but I will attest to this . I was snorkeling in a busy, gin clear Ozark creek . Lots of commotion from other people . Every downed tree , I would tap my fingernails on a glass wrist-watch face and the bass would come out to investigate . It happened every time . My favorite lipless bait and A_Jay has one too, is a silent model that the weight is loose in . It makes a quieter sound than the Two-Tap and its a killer deep water yo-yo bait .

Dredger will out dive them . I prefer the Dredger .

Dredger Cranks?
Yeah, at Table Rock the crawfish patterns should work .They make a couple , I dont have any . Mine are all fire tiger , shad and bluegill patterns . I seen those Table rock crawdads with the bright orange pincers , maybe try the "gilley" pattern .

Add BB's to hollow body frogs
I dont have a lot of experience throwing frogs . I went fishing with a friend at a farm pond and he showed me to put pieces of plastic worm in them to add weight and add a little noise . We caught fish that day , thats all i know .

Dredger Cranks?
I fished them a lot last year and they are now my favorite lineup of crankbaits . They are the deepest lures for their size I have found . I hooked up with several bass at 22 foot , thats the deepest I have caught bass on diving plugs and a bunch of fish hit close to the boat because they hold their depth a long distance . All five sizes dove to advertised depth using 12 lb Big Game . I used them at about two foot less than there designation . 10.5 for 6 to 8 foot 14.5 for 8 to 12 foot 17.5 for 12 to 15 foot 20.5 for 15 to 18 foot 25.5 for 18 to 23 foot They cast great , dive fast and have a tight action. A word of warning . These lures rise slowly , some of them even suspend so they are not the most snag-proof cranks out there but I had no issue with them . I bought some of the 8.5s that just came out .

Favorite hook type for plastics
I think you get a better hook up with offsets over EWG's .

New to this
Its hard to see but there is a creek to the right indicated by the slack water that is actually a big slow moving eddy . Lots of species of fish congregate there during high water .
-
Favorite hook type for plastics
I use regular offset hooks for most plastics and only use EWG's for fat baits that require it. I choose a hook with a gap slightly larger than twice the width of the bait .

New to this
Find some creeks .

The difference in getting bit
It seems to me anyhow ,that populations of bass get acclimated to spinnerbaits in the spring rather fast . I've seen that bite shut down over and over but yet they still hit other lures .

Active or inactive
Good question . I mean take a manmade brush pile for instance . Is it both ? I'm not going to go fishing with these questions . I'm just not that advanced as an angler.

FLW Fantasy Fishing
I picked some guy from Missouri I never heard of but most of these names are unfamiliar .

Heres an oldie . Maxi R my first 10 foot crankbait.

Squarebill
Rapala Crankin Rap . Discontinued , inexpensive and still available online with a "tight" action but not a one knocker . Its not loud , sounds like there are two to rattles in it . It works real well in cold , muddy water .

New to Crankbaits
I dont use crankbaits much from the bank . I recommend the least expensive lipless bait you can find . I like to fish them on ripprap dams letting them sink to the bottom then try to hug the bottom on the whole retrieve , hopping it or using a steady retrieve with pauses to get it back down . Its a good way to pick up fish but its a good way to lose lures too .

Deeper further out on the point , off the sides or both? Another question if the small bass are active then do we assume the larger ones are ?- Active or inactive
Ok. This is a serious question . Lets say the dinks are chowing down on shad at 12 foot deep on a extended main lake point point . Big bass are known to favor this point too . Will the big bass show up after awhile to dine or should one try to find their den on that point and what should one look for ?- Carolina Rig
Dont get me wrong , I'm knocking the C-rig . It was the best tool available for the task . All that time of unproductive fishing was a learning experience . I dnt like not catching bass . - Active or inactive
