  1. I successfully fish standing timber in mud bottoms a lot . Square bills shallow , texas rigs at the base of the trees or a top water buzzbait . Thats pretty much it for me .
  2. Brown .
  3. I would like to make up a small box . I'm thinking spoons , Little Georges , jigs and some Storm Wild Eye Shads , lures that cast a mile .Maybe even a big chugger . Have you ever tried it at night ? When walking down the beach is there something to look for that might suggest a good spot ?
  4. I might be heading to Panama city for a week and would like to catch my first salt water fish . I'm not going to buy new equipment or lures . What would be my best bet to catch a fish? I have some Krocodile spoons that I was thinking on trying maybe some Little George's. Also can night fishing be productive ? It will be in March or April .
  5. Theres a small lake of 6000 acres in northern Missouri called Thomas hill reservoir . I have simply had better luck on that lake than any other lake .
  6. This tournament has already started . You will have to wait for the next one .
  7. I dont get this Flw scoring . I have 1307 total points but it is only giving me 1180 event points . Us bottom three have all been given less points than what we have . We all three picked Zack Birge . What is there , a Zack Birge penalty ? Me and Montanaro did not receive 127 points for Zack Birge . Danderson did not get 323 points for Zack Birge , Dylan Hays and Joey Cifuentes. I contacted them about the scoring glitch .
  8. Haha , we all picked Scott Martin .
  9. Can you describe it . I have a couple of oddities .
  10. When one is fishing a Texas rig or jig through brush . If you a feel tap as you are lifting , then that is probably a limb . If you feel taps when it is falling , reel down and set the hook . I dont palm the reel , I hold the rod in front of the reel with the line running between my index finger and thumb . I feel I am pretty good at detecting strikes but still have at least half go undetected . If my line feels heavy . Ill drop it and "weigh" my line trying to put as little pressure on the fish/snag as possible .
  11. A tap as the lure is "dropping" is most likely a bite . A lot of bites are never felt .
  12. I know what a tap feels like and that calls for a swift hookset . Sometimes the fish is just on there and that takes experience on when to set the hook. .
  13. Dont play tug of war . Reel down the slack and sock it to em .
  14. My son doesnt like fishing at all . The only sporting activity he likes is snow boarding .
  15. I use both and dont have a preference . Back when I was using Amassaduers with replaceable leather centrifugal brakes ,for demonstration I would cast as far as i could , with the spool tension knob loose with play , lay the rod and reel on the ground and not backlash . I dont know what digital is .
  16. Missouri , Illinois and Florida . I was on vacation at Panama Beach and threw a Red Eye Shad in the surf at night . I got skunked . Then the next day I threw a Red Eye Shad and a DOA Shad off a pier and got skunked again but it was fun .
  17. It sounds kind of absurd . Are you using braid ? That might transmit vibrations from rough reels ?
  18. I dont . Last year I pretty much picked my favorite anglers and did pretty bad . This year there will be a reason for each one picked but I'm not going to research much .
  19. I joined it this year . I recognize very few names . I jumped all over Scott Martin when I saw his low buying price fishing his home lake . I dont understand how they rate the anglers over their yet .
  20. Yes ,thanks to you .
  21. Three weeks ago . I had a 279 .
  22. You have any 300's ? I have two 299's . Left the 10pin both times .
