I have crankbaits that have to much action for my liking . I often wondered if a feathered treble would tame them down .

If you want to learn how to fish jigs , I'm assuming weedless jigs that you work through cover , I would instead master Texas rigs . They are basically fished the same way , bites feel the same .

You can cover a lot of water with tiny crankbaits , spinnerbaits , buzzbaits ...

A crankbait that runs so true it goes directly under the rod and under the boat then turns around and comes back is a good one . You'll know on the first cast . Because they have " it " . Whatever " it ' is .

It takes forever . At one time I thought I had the answer , Speedo Beads . It was a sinker stop and all one had to do is wrap the line around it a few times . One knot . They were not designed well and created a sharp bend in the line weakening it severely . If they would redo those things but smooth the corners off , it would solve the hassel of retying with three knots . I have two lures that I would go to length to get back . A vintage Rogers Big jim thats is the fish catchingest square bill I have ever used { I found 2 in an antique store and lost one high in a tree }and a Silent red Eye Shad that has a loose weight and is now a one knocker . How do you modify them ? Long A's are one of my favorites as is .

One of these days you will probably have to pull one in by hand. LOL A lot of us has done that at one point .

Do you know " Camp Town Ladies" ?

For me it was deep water crankbaits . Ive always had them and caught a few fish here and there but this year it was my number 1 technique . I got on fish and stayed on fish . One day I took my cousin to a spot . The very first thing I did was strategically toss a buoy and told him where the dropoff was , where the little jut on the point was and where the fish should be . We both hooked up first cast on Strike King 6 x's . Thats the kind of year it was with cranks.

When I was in my teens and twenties , Pro anglers were my sports heroes . My Micky Mantle was Roland Martin , Bill Dance my Bart Starr.. I read and watched all I could about pro fishermen and they all had one thing in common . They were great anglers who grew up fishing for multiple species .

I'm looking at the jigging rods and they dont have the big eyes like a normal spinning rod . Then on a video and they were using upside down casting reels . I want to be able to pitch under hand also with a spinning reel . Can that be done easily with the long rods ?

I want a reel seat .

I have gift money and want a crappie jigging rod around 12 foot long . Its something I would not buy for myself but that is what gift money if for . Any recommendations ? I'm thinking about buying one from "Ozark Rods" .

Fisher probably asked to be fired . One more loss and he would be the losing-est coach of all time . As a former season ticket holder all I can say " what took so long? " . He gives up too easily . 3rd and 15 , he would run the ball almost every time . Punt then let the defense take over . He wouldnt even try to get a first down . He would make a fine Junior high school coach .

LOL . The guy across the street will park his vehicle in front of my house , so the snow plows will clean his side off leaving snow on my side .I wont shoot him but he might end up with a flat tire some day .

I do the hiking thing too , especially if we get a couple of inches of snow . Play with knives , shoot a couple of rabbits , sip bourbon and smoke a cigar if I can get a fire lit . I take a fire starter, no lighter , no matches . Sometimes its difficult to get that fire going . No sense staying inside ,its the best hiking time of the year.

Electric temp probe is the only way I know of .

I'm not real precise at trolling . I make a long cast and then let some more out . If it doesnt start hitting bottom then I let some more out . 20 foot is about a deep as I go . Thats about how i do it .

It took me three months to pay for that detector .

Ive been hooking the bass on a metal clip stringer Lure still attached , it makes a hole in their mouth but a tiny one . Get it back in the water , set up the camera with timer set at 10 seconds , set it to take six picture at different settings . "my Cannon will do that , a really cool feature " take two photos which will give me 12 pics . I get some real good shots this way and gets the bass in the water rather quickly .
