  6. I once lassoed a crappie .I landed it and the line went all the way around it and the jig then hooked the line and pulled tight .

  11. About twenty years ago , I was catching a lot of channel cats on the Mississippi river . I would keep a limit in the live well and toss them into the private neighborhood pond for the kids . I stocked one to two hundred cats in that pond . Kids started catching them , word got out and then scumbags from everywhere were fishing and littering the place up . It was ridiculous .
  12. I dont have the nerve to look through someones property.
  13. Theres less "bite" with the EWG . I dont know if bite is the correct term but compare the two . On a skinny worm I always use standard offset hooks and bury the point inside the lure old school way . .Thats my preferred way to rig soft plastics , its the most weedless and the hook exits easily . EWG's I use on thicker baits and dont bury the point , instead I skin hook them . The bait must be perfectly straight so I lay the hook across the bait to see which way to rig each hook . I have some weird sickle shaped hooks that are sort of in between and they work best skin hooked .
  14. This is a common theme on the forums . What lure , technique , . Trial , error , knowledge and perseverance effect success more than lure selection . . Bass must be located before they can be tricked into biting .. Theres a lot of things to take under consideration . : Type of water . River , reservoir , swamp... : Season : Weather ":Water temp : Water clarity :Trending conditions . Rising water , falliing water , stable water , muddying water... : Forage : Type of bass . Largemouth , smallmouth , Kentucky ... :: Available cover . Weeds , rocks , timber.... : Bottom shape / structure :Bottom composition .Hard /soft . : Time of day : Fishing pressure :Thermoclne :Current or lack of : and many other factors . Thats a lot of stuff to contemplate in order to solve the riddle of where and how to catch bass , for anglers of all levels .

  22. i'm in a tournament and I have two lures putting fish in the boat . If one is catching noticeably bigger fish then I'm going to throw it more. If they are both performing equally well then I would stick with whats working and that may very well be too throw the faster moving lure first .Now add laydowns in the equation , I'm probably not going to risk snagging a crankbait and spoiling a potentially superior spot .
  23. I have a vintage Eagle Fishmark 320 that I converted to a portable unit and use it on small jon boats all the time .
  24. Bad part about your fish is it looks like its been on a diet . Ive had the same problem this year , skinny bass .
